17 years in the past, the protection of the Galaxy rested on the shoulders of two Keyblade wielders, Kane Ettas, and Yui Cross.

It wasn't easy, having the burden of protecting a universe... but they managed to do it, all the while preserving the love they had for each other.

But... things take a turn for the worse when Yui becomes pregnant, something neither of them had planned... Yui has to take a break, and leave the side of her fiance. But... it was ill timed. For at the very moment, a new threat was rising. And the worlds were in peril, with no protection to turn to except for the chosen wielder of the Keyblade.

How does Kane go about doing everything himself? Taking care of a deadly threat, and protecting his pregnant wife at the same time... it's an impossible feat.

There's only one thing that can ensure Kanes ability to succeed.

Darkness.

Personality: Yui is a tomboy and will never hesitate to get agressive with her opponents. She seems to have limited control over her extreme emotions and has problems with grudges. However, inside, she holds a soft spot

for only her dearest friends.

You start the RP.

White knuckles tightly clenched the blanket sheets... and a loud roar erupted from the throat of one Kane Ettas.

Jumping up from his slumber, a shining object materialized in his hand, pure instinct.

He looked around... nothing... it was only a dream.

The keyblade faded from sight... turning again into nothing but a chain. A keychain, the pendant of which was in the shape of a heart, with two symmetrical tendrils turning inward. In the center of the heart was a crown. The symbol was the coat of arms for any keyblade wielder...

 

Kane set the chain back down on his desk...

He glanced to his right, and there lied the most beautiful creature Kane knew of (or ever would know of...), Yui Cross. She was his fiance, and their was no one Kane cared for more.

He didn't dare disturb her from her slumber, so he laid back down by her side.

 

He had been plagued with nightmares for many a day now, and they had steadily grown worse. It could only mean that something was disturbing the peace between light and darkness...

But, it could be years away from now... Keyblade masters tend to see visions of the future, and sometimes the past. And until now, Kane hadn't thought anything of it... but the nightmares were to intense. It had further meaning, and soon enough, Kane would have to face that danger.

 

So long as he had Yui by his side... he wasn't afraid... he would never give up. Cause he knows that he has to protect her, just as she protects him.

Together, the two are unstoppable...

Blue eyes opened slowly as Yui felt her bed shift. She blinked twice and turned, checking if Kane was by her side, as he's always been. The bed creaked a little as she shiftedd her body on the othe side. Yui smiled weakly at her fianc

Kane slightly chuckled... could he get anything past her?

"Well, it depends on your definition of okay." he whispered to her.

Her touch was comforting, like a silent reassurance that everything was going to be okay.

 

They'd know each other from childhood, him and Yui. Way back when they first started training to became masters of the keyblade. A lot of things had changed since then... mainly there friendship, which evolved over the years from rivalry, to close friendship, to childish crush, to a relationship, and now, marriage. Or almost marriage... for Kane had proposed to Yui only a few weeks ago.

 

Amazing, how things could change so quickly.

She scanned his face and laughed once. She layed him in her arms and cradled him, stroking his hair gently. He was sweating. Yui furrowed her eyebrows. Another nightmare.

 

She hated seeing him like this. She hated that she could only do so little. But maybe she could try.

Yui brushed the stray strands of hair clinging to his face with sweat out of his face. She smiled at Kane again.

 

"Don't worry. I'm here."

Comforted by her warm embrace, Kane dozed back to sleep.

With her on his mind, his dreams were peaceful... and so, his rest was peaceful.

It was now roughly nine in the morning... you never really could tell time accurately while in the lanes between.

A blaring siren abruptly woke Kane, the piercing wail that indicated something very wrong was happening somewhere.

Kane jumped out of bed and into his clothes within mere moments, and he stormed into the Falcon v.2 main control room.

Here was where the magic happened, where he or Yui could pilot the ship, draw out battle plans, or use the advanced technology passed down from generation to generation to locate any threats.

The siren was the signal that such a threat had been located, and needed immediate attention.

Kane sat down in the Pilots chair and brought up the holgraphic interface... he found everything BUT good news.

"Purebloods... a lot of them... all converging on one point." Kane said, thinking out loud. "Radiant Garden..."

Yui awoke at the alarm only seconds after Kane left. She changed into a white tank top with a pair of black pants and stepped into her black boots. She entered the room where the signal was coming from and saw Kane. Yui stood next to him and observed the screen.

She sighed and turned her head towards him. She didn't want to fight so early, but it was her job to stop those things.

"Morning cleanup?" She asked, laughing a little.

"I suppose so." Kane said with a deep sigh.

"I love protecting people, but for once, you'd just like to have a day of peace, y'know?"

He programmed the system to fly to Radiant Garden, he was to lazy to pilot himself right now.

 

Standing up, he walked into the other room, a small kitchen of sorts.

He pulled a banora white off the shelf and bit into it... it would be a good while before they made it to the Gardens.

"Hey, isn't Radiant famous for something, Yui?" he said, taking another bite of the Dumbapple.

"I remember that there was something or other special about that place."

Yui followed him and leaned on the small counter. She thought hard...

"Ansem's Laboratories...right?"

 

Right now she felt sick to the stomach. Watching Kane eat made it even worse. She was always a morning person, but for the past weeks, every morning she would wake up nauseous. She stepped towards him and held his hands. Yui pulled the Dumbapple from his grip and set it on the counter.

"Put it away for now...'Kay?", she said, her voice cracking a bit. She did her best to smile even though on the inside, her stomach was doing flips.

That's what it was...

The laboratories on Radiant Garden were famous for their breakthroughs in the science of both the heart, and the darkness within. The head of the labs was one Ansem the Wise, and he was a trusted ally to any Keyblade masters.

One can only hope that he never takes it to far, and discovers something beyond his comprehension. Or anybodies, for that matter.

 

Kane then noticed Yui... she didn't look so hot. Her face was slightly pale, and the way she held her stomach... Kane could tell from her body language that she was sick.

"Yui? Something you're not telling me?" he said, rising to his feet and standing in front of her. He held her by the shoulders, in an attempt to be comforting. He was never good at that...

Yui's eyes widened when she felt the grip on her shoulders. She could tell he was worried but it was shocking how quickly his demeanor had changed. She was a bit scared that he was so concerned but then she though, 'No...He's just looking out for me..'

Yui did her best to laugh and smile.

"No...I'm fine." She took Kanes hands of of her and joined them with hers. "We should probably get to work."

Kane frowned, he knew there was something wrong that she wasn't telling him. He walked back into the cockpit, tossing the apple in the trash on the way out.

He sat down with a groan, tapping a few buttons on the console to return manual control.

"We'll arrive at Radiant Garden within the hour." he said, solemnly.

Something was terribly wrong here..

Yui felt really nauseous now. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Was it really okay for her to keep secrets like this from him..?

 

'It's better if he doesn't know...', she thought. 'Maybe...Maybe it'd just slow us down if he knew...'

 

Yui walked back into the bedroom and started to get ready to fight. She put on her Keyblader crest and buckled her signature X-crossing belts. She walked out and sat down, hoping that Kane wouldn't see the painful expression on her face.

Kane looked at himself to notice that he wasn't geared up yet.

"I'll be right back..." he said with a yawn. And then walked back into the bedroom.

 

In the closet, he had three outfits, two of which were gear, and the other his casual clothes.

Grabbing one of the two gears, (he didn't much have a preference between the two. They were after all near-identical.) and started to put it on.

Included was a black pair of fatigues, a short sleeved undershirt, a pair of fingerless gloves, a headset, and whatever keychain that he randomly picked out of the box. For this situation, he chose "Crystal Heart".

He grasped the chain, and summoned the keyblade...

 

The hilt was heart shaped, and was made up of coarse, ruby red and light blue diamonds. As it started to lead into the blade, the diamonds smoothed out into a fine surface, which peppered with various colored gems and crystals up the full length of the shaft. The smooth texture of the blade again coarsened into red and blue diamonds, again shaping a heart, only this time, the bottom right portion of the heart was shattered. It was beautifully crafted. Albeit "pretty" for a man to weild, but it was gorgeous nonetheless.

 

He put the weapon away, and emerged into the cockpit.

Yui stood up and started to do some stretches before going to fight. However, some thoughts didn't leave her mind. She wanted to tell Kane but wouldn't dare. He was too much of a worrywart. He'd ne'er let her go on duty.

Yui stood up straight after her stretches and fixated her stare to her stomach. But she wanted to get her mind on anything but that subject.

 

"Are we there yet..?"

Kane kicked his legs up, resting,

"We got about 15 minutes before we arrive." he said, his eyes closed, and his head laid back.

"I'm afraid that I'll be overcome by an overwhelming sensation of exhaustion. What with my lack of sleep..."

He jumped to his feet, and did about 20 squats before dropping down onto his hands to do 30 pushups.

"Hold my feet, will ya' Yui?" he asked, fixing to do situps... and after ten of those, he stood up, and looked to the monitor.

"That killed about thirty seconds.."

Yui laughed a bit at Kane's silly attitude. He always made her feel better no matter what she was going through.

"Hm... what can we do to pass 15 minutes...?" She pondered a bit, putting a finger to her cheek. She summoned her Keyblade and smiled. Maybe Kane wouldn't be against this. Time would fly, that's for sure.

 

"How about we spar?"

A wide smile creeped along Kane's face... and without a word, he summoned his keyblade, and lunged toward her.

His blade met hers, locking, before sliding off in a flurry of sparks...

"Let's see if I've taught you anything new." he said, bring his blade down onto her.

 

Sparring was always there way of passing the time, or there way of making things up to one another. And it kept them on there toes for whats to come.

Yui scoffed. She lunged towards Kane and laughed. "What you taught me?" Her blade met his, sending sparks with the clash. She brought her face close to his and smirked.

"Last time I checked, you weren't my Master."

 

Yui took a step back and pushed her Keyblade forward. Unfortunatly, Kane knew her fighting style all too well. She used force and speed more than anything else. She was also the world's worst Mage.
