Guessing the KH3 World Types

Recommended Posts

I think your list is the most likely one. There are some additions that I want to make:

1. Hercules

2. Tangled

3. Big Hero 6

4. Toy Story

5. Frozen

6. Monsters Inc.

7. Aladdin

8. Jungle Book

9. Treasure Planet (if not, then Star Wars because Nomura wants it)

10. From all worlds that are out there I think Wreck-it Ralph will fill the spot to promote Wreck-it Ralph 2.

11. Finding Nemo (because there is no water world in KH3) or Cars (to promote the next Cars movie). This will be a "side world" without story relevance.

This is NOT a "What worlds do you wish for?" thread. This is trying to use logic to the best of our ability to figure out what sort of worlds will be in KH3, but nothing specific necessarily. Nomura has said KH3 will have less Disney worlds than KH2 (meaning less than 12), but said nothing of KH1 (which had 9). To me that says KH3 will have either 9, 10, or 11 Disney worlds. I will assume 10 for this thread. The only confirmed Disney worlds are:

1. Hercules (1997)

2. Tangled (2010)

3. Big Hero 6 (2014)

4. Toy Story (1995)

Leaving six worlds left to be revealed. This is how I see it playing out:

5. Frozen

It's the highest grossing animated film of all time, really popular, and unique. It's a done deal at this point.

6. One more Pixar world

Based off of various interviews at D23, both Nomura & Pixar are over the moon about Toy Story being in KH3. It would be weird to cut it off at just one, so I think we get at least one more, probably one of the earlier films. Luckily, the recent Monsters Inc. leak fits into this, but you know, until confirmed and all that.

7. At least one more returning world

There's no way Olympus Coliseum is the only returner. Nomura has said in the past that he likes returning worlds because they are safe, stable, and balance out the surprise worlds. (Personal bet: either Aladdin 3 or Pirates 2).

8. One world based on an old animated film

The oldest thing so far is Toy Story from 1995. There's still a fair amount of hidden gems from back in the day, and you need a classic film to balance all of these (relatively) new films. (Personal bet: Jungle Book, or possibly Robin Hood).

9. One world based off a "loser" film in the 2000's

While I like them, pretty much all the animated films during the 2000's were flops. They were financial bombs, critically hated, or have little park presence. The kids who grew up with them are old enough to appreciate their inclusion, and you can't have too many of these movie types together in a future KH installment. (Personal bet: Treasure Planet)

10. Freebie world for either point 7, 8, or 9

Depending how the rest of the list shakes out, these are the points that I think could "double up" in order to keep the world balance.

What do you think? Is this sound thinking? Or is there problem with the list? Share your thoughts!

I do hope you're right and that they won't skip The Jungle Book or Treasure Planet. I would be very sad if they skip Jungle Book a fourth time

I think so far

Olympus Coliseum

Kingdom Of Corona

San Fransokyo

Toy Story

Monstropolis

Arendelle

100 Acre Woods

Do Nomura count Twilight Town, Disney Castle, Destiny Islands, Radiant Garden, Keyblade Graveyard as Disney worlds?

I'm confused.

And exactly how many worlds will there be?

Frozen is not a done deal until they say it’s a world, but I could see it as a real possibility since the farthest they went in terms of movies was 2014 with Big Hero 6.

With these supposed leaks of Monsters Inc making me double clutch, I could believe it.

Unlikely since it’s become out with the old and in with the new except with what we already have in Olympus Coliseum, though since we are exploring new areas, they might rename it.

I guess since it will be new, but they will have to choose wisely if they do so.

That would be indeed Treasure Planet, but I still so want Atlantis from Atlantis Lost Empire.

All original KH worlds and new KH worlds fill in here.

I'm going to go about this thinking Monsters Inc leak is real (and it sure as heck is looking like it). Here's how I see the world list being:

1. Hercules

2. Tangled

3. Big Hero 6

4. Toy Story

5. Monsters Inc.

6. Frozen

7. The Princess and the Frog

8. Wreck-It Ralph

9. The Jungle Book

10. Treasure Planet

If Pooh gets in, that brings the total up to 11 Disney Worlds, but 10 big explorable plot heavy worlds total. I went about the list like this:

1. All recent Disney films that helped Disney get their success back should be in the game as they are all extremely popular and iconic in their own ways, as well as distinct from each other. PatF is the bayou and 1920s New Orleans,.Tangled is a beautiful green, spring like kingdom. Wreck-It Ralph is a digital based world. Frozen is the snowy landscapes and mountains. Big Hero 6 is the metropolis with superheroes. We know Tangled and BH6 are in, so the other 3 should most likely be in to include the 5 big new Disney Renaissance films.

2. The Jungle Book helps take an old, classic Disney movie spot, and since it's been planned to be in the series for years, now would be the time to go all out for it. Treasure Planet takes the 2000 era of Disney of cult classics. It's not my choice, I would prefer Emperor's New Groove, but with fans clamoring for it and Roy Conli playing a huge part int he development of the game, it makes the most sense.

3. Toy Story and Monsters Inc make up the beginning of Pixar's inclusion in the series. These two films are very popular with fans and are good places to start for Pixar worlds in the series as both were huge successes. Other Pixar films would work like Incredibles, but they should save those for KH4 or other future installments as KH3 shouldn't be overcrowded with Pixar worlds.

4. Hercules and Pooh are the only returning worlds, and that would be fine. Unlike many of the other worlds we've been to, Hercules has never been able to reach its full potential, and now it can and it is exciting. Pooh just seems to be a staple minigame world in the numbered titles, so it's likely to see it. The only other returning world I could see is Aladdin, and I could see it knocking out PatF or Ralph, but honestly Square should focus on including more new worlds and not returning to past worlds.

If I had to guess, I’d say 11 Disney worlds total. My candidates are....

1. A Studio Ghibli world

2. A Disney Classic world

3. A world based off a lesser-known Disney film

4. Agrabah

5. A Frozen world

6. 100 Acre Wood, based off the leaks

7. A freebie, like you.

No Twilight Town, Destiny Island, Radiant Garden and Keyblade Graveyard aren't Disney Worlds they're Kingdom Hearts Original Worlds.

First off, 10 worlds sound good.

Second, There are four confirmed worlds.

Thirdly, the two leaks seem legit. Frozen, the third highest grossing movie of all time in Japan, and the movie that beat the record for most blu-rays sold in Japan in it's first day on sale, was always a no brainer. In a similar thread to this one, I said that Monster's Inc was a good fit for this, though I also said it was unlikely.

Next, that leaves us with 6 likely worlds. 4 more to go.

Atlantis or Treasure Planet is very, VERY unlikely. If one had to happen, it'd likely be Treasure Planet, but both are likely never going to happen.

Tetsuya Nomura wants Star Wars. Disney wants to exploit Star Wars. It's happening. Marvel I think is unlikely.

Beast's Castle, due to his prevalence in the series, and we need another returning

Wreck-it-Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet comes out November 2018. Kingdom Hearts III comes out in 2018, and considering early 2018 is in 4 days, it'll probably be later in the year. You see where I'm getting at? Besides, the possibilities are endless. You could reference past Square titles as well.

Lastly, we need another classic Disney world, but I'm not sure which one. Classic Disney Wild Card!

1: Olympus

2: Corona

3: San Fransokyo

4: Toy Story

5: Arendele

6: Monster's Inc

7: Star Wars

8: Beast's Castle

9: The Arcade

10: Classic Disney Wild Card
