Analysis of the Trailer

Made a quick analysis video of the short trailer we got. Did you guys pick up on anything out of the ordinary?

 

I think i might have spotted the return of Land of Departure. If that's so, then perhaps Ven is saved after all!

Well, I have my own theory.  Perhaps, Ventus isn't saved and it's just Vanitas possessing Ventus's body.  I mean, Aqua is tainted by Xehanort and we don't know how.  Xehanort might have gotten his hands on Aqua and forced her to open Castle Oblivion since she was one of the few Keyblade Masters that knew of Land of Departure's secrets and had transformed it into Castle Oblivion.

 

How Xehanort got to Aqua is beyond me?  However, Xemnas when he was Apprentice Xehanort did build the Chamber of Repose that stores Aqua's armor.  I don't know if there is any link between Aqua's armor and Aquanort.

I don't really think Aqua was necessary to save Ven, but because she was the only one with Eraqus' keyblade that she was the only one that could. Now that Sora has it, he should be able to save Ven.

 

I do think Ven will get possessed though. That way we will have the BBS trio all norted (which was hinted at in 0.2)

It's possible but I do wonder what role the Chamber of Repose will have in KH3.  Xigbar spoke with Zexion about it in Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts 2.5.  We also got to see Xemnas going into the room and witnessed him speaking with Aqua's armor as if he believed it had some sort of sentience.  The Chamber of Awakening will likely play a part in Ven's slumber coming to an end, though I am not sure how the Chamber of Repose will play into it.  They are both in two different worlds, one is in Castle Oblivion/Land of Departure and the other one is in Hollow Bastion/Radiant Gardens.

I hope so.  I hope it isn't wasted after it was so heavily drilled into us.  We never got to access either room legitimately.  Do you have any theories about what purpose either or both rooms will serve in KH3 that might link back to the trailer?  It's probably too early to theorize.

I think it was made to try and "make" the armor sentient as well. Xemnas would have memories of the Lingering Will and maybe thinks that by talking to Aquas armor, her will to save her friends could manifest and he could talk to her directly.

 

It's also possible that's the scene we get from 0.2. When Terra is talking to Aqua and Xehanort takes possesion of him. Xigbar did mention that he heard someone talking back to Xemnas. It's quite possible that by talking to the armor he could legit talk to Aqua.

It's likely those two scenes are one in the same.  We see Aqua's side of it in KH 0.2 and we see Xemnas/Terra/Xehanort's side in KH 2.5/2 Final Mix.  It's quite funny that we haven't seen either chamber in the trailer, well except the Chamber of Awakening (possibly turned back to its original state with Vanitas in Land of Departure).

Maybe that’s why she send eraqus keyblade to Destiny islands so xehanort doesn’t get his hands on it and opens the chamber to Ventus

This trailer has got me speculating like crazy! Also, great screenshots, this part of trailer really flew by.

 

I'm starting to think there's more to Aqua then what meets the eye. Yeah, we know she's become a vessel, but I'm starting to wonder if maybe she knew this tragic fate was going to happen to her. She's been stuck in the Realm of Darkness for a long time and it's definitely affected her. What if someone, likely powerful, pays her a visit and is there to "claim" her as a vessel? She fights them and ultimately loses, but before completely becoming a vessel and "succumbing to darkness", she somehow sends Eraqus's Keyblade to Destiny Islands. Like she makes a massive sacrifice. That'd be epic.

 

Sorry, really in the speculating mood. Also, I do hope we save Aqua. She doesn't deserve a fate this awful!

Dont be sorry. This is exactly how I see it going down. She probably found out why they were there and was betting on Sora to find the keyblade that saves Ven. If so then props to SOMEONE being smart in Kingdom Hearts.
