COM Gameplay Appreciation thread

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that there is a lot of hate from the KH community in regards to the card gameplay in both versions of chain of memories. However the purpose of this thread is different.

I want all you to list and explain all the positive details about COM's gameplay in order to show how genius it really is.

The whole card system saved that game for me. Otherwise it would have been a chore to go through it because most of it was a rehash of Kingdom Hearts. It kept the game interesting and actually made me want to play it.

I'm not a fan of COM,but I do enjoy the card system, but only against bosses,it's fun to manage your cards against a boss,it's can be really tense to try to get the higher number and hit him with your special moves and preparing a deck for specific bosses is fun too.

It forces you to think on your feet and actually strategise as opposed to just mindlessly button mashing.

Having said that, once you obtain certain sleights like Lethal Frame and Sonic Blade that all goes down the drain. That's only in Re:CoM tho, I'm not sure about CoM GBA.

Peace!

I agree. To me it shows that the designers were thinking about ways to make it different which they continued in the other ges to. Love it or hate it but you cant deny that they atleast always try new stuff unlike other Franchise that are being milked by doing always the same until they die

I enjoyed it very much when 1.5+2.5 came out. The card system is a nice way to strategy your attacks and makes you need to think before you attack. It's not like  1&2 that you spam X to get some combo.
