Welcome to the region of Tamara! It is a beautiful mountainous region, filled with many species of Pokémon. It is also a resting spot for legendary Pokémon, including the “Original One”, Arceus. However, not all is peaceful here, as a shady group of individuals believe the world is imperfect and unbalanced, and without leaders. They call themselves “Team Yami”. Their goal is to obtain a certain number of legendary Pokémon, via Team Galactic’s old method, the “Red Chain”, and use them to create a new world, and to keep order in said new world. On three sides of the region, there are shrines dedicated to the Pokémon of interest. The  southeast shrine is dedicated to the creation trio, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. The shrine to the north is dedicated to the weather trio, Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza. And finally, the shrine to the Southwest is dedicated to the aura trio, Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde. The Pokémon Champion of the Tamara region, Jacob, is closely monitoring Team Yami, and is striving to foil their plans. Whether you’re a newly fledged Pokémon Trainer, a veteran, or even a member of Team Yami, it is time to create your own path, to help Jacob defeat Team Yami, to keep away from the tension, or to try and fulfill Team Yami’s goals. 

 

Rules

-All KH13 Rules apply. 

-No god modding in any way shape or form. You are mortal, enough said. 

-Absolutely no legendaries in your party, this is to avoid plot domination. This includes the dog trio, Latias and Latios, Thundurus, Tornadus, and Landorus, Ultra Beasts, and any of the Guardian Dieties. 

-No Z Moves. We’re keeping it old school. 

-Like the games, only one Pokémon in your team can Mega Evolve during battle. 

-No controlling others’ characters and Pokémon.

-This will be a slow paced RP, but please try to at least post once every two weeks. 

-Have fun, keep it PG-13.

Appearance: 5’8”, brown eyes and hair, and normally wears a black coat, but is known to wear casual from time to time.

Personality: Jake is a docile individual. He genuinely cares about the well being of others and, especially, Pokémon. He also loves food, you may often find him and his Lucario, Utopia, eating some subs. 

Bio: Jake was born in the Sinnoh region and moved to the Tamara region when he was 9, which is also the time when he caught his first Pokémon, a Riolu he named Utopia. The two were inseparable, and Jake even taught Utopia to speak the human language, to which he now perfects. Since then, Jake has gradually become a stronger trainer, and eventually took the title of Pokémon Champion of the Tamara region. However, now with Team Yami threatening peace, he is taking action to foil their plans.

Appearance: Elly dresses young and sticks to a simple outfit of a puffy vest, a black tee shirt with a Pokeball at the center, and a pair of blue jeans decorated with blue rhinestones on her right upper leg in the shape of the suit of clubs.  Her chestnut brown hair is mostly unfettered and hangs natural, but two thin loops of hair hang suspended over her ears.  A small faux leather purse completes the package, excepting the black backpack that regularly is carried on her back.

Personality: She is a very shy individual, but very determined.  She veers away from large groups as much as she is able, and does not care much for conflict, but she is assured that Team Yami should not get their way.  The few friends she has are far away, living in her home region of Johto, or in the Pokéballs she stuck with since the Johto region, gathered through trading and her own adventures, so every so often she sends out a phone call or plays with her Pokémon to whittle down the loneliness and homesickness she feels.

Bio:  Elly started out in Violet City of the Johto region and clung to the area of her birth for a fair while.  At the age of thirteen, and with the additional push of her parents, she picked up her two Eevees and attempted to travel across the region in an effort to mature and grow more independent.  Many strange adventures occurred, including some run-ins with new friends from Olivine City and Azalea Town, which brought her to one of her close allies, Runda the Spheal.  She toughened up and blossomed into a nice girl, though she still has issues with shyness and meeting new people.  She collected all eight badges from the region, but never managed to conquer the Elite Four, losing several times against Lance.  Humbled by those several defeats, she aimed to try out a different region, Tamara, a mystery in and of itself to her.  She hopes to get strong, break free of her bewitching shyness, and become the promising young woman she so aspires to be.  One of her personal blockades for this is Team Yami, a secretive and dark group, against which she would give her all.

Though she does show to be an emotional person, she seems to lack empathy to those who she considers to be unimportant and useless to her plans. The more time passes, the more apathetic and blinded she becomes on her goal, to the point where it's the only one that matters.
Bio: Astra and Nero met in the Kanto Pokemon League, to which they have been together ever since. As they grew together, they began to share the ideas involving the world that they lived in. He left off for an adventure with his pokemon, and has been traveling for a while before reaching the Tamara region. He had heard of the rumors of Team Yami, but he thought of them as being as a good for nothing gang, and not an actual threat to worry about. His ultimate goal is to become the pokemon league champion for Kanto, and maybe encounter his parents in his travel.

Appearance: 5'7. Long black messy hair tied in a bun with white bangs and green eyes. She wears a long sleeved black shirt, blue jeans and a pair of red converse (Kinda like rival from Silver and Gold)

Pokémon: Nintetails (Shiny-silver-gray fur), Arcanine, Vaporeon, Dragonair.

Personality: Outspoken, kind, confident, and determined. Knows what she wants to do in life. Tends to keep out of large groups, if only to avoid too much noise. Has a love for nature. Loves to sketch landscapes and pokemon in their natural habitats.

Bio: Astrid was born in the Cinnabar Islands, her parents used to be part of a group of scientist whose purpose was to research ways to bring back ancient, extinct pokemons, and even create more through genetic modification. Her childhood was an average one, as there weren't many children around the island, she was homeschooled by her parents as Cinnabar did not had a school. When she was old enough her parents gave her her first pokemon, a golden Vulpix who she named Amaterasu, or Ammy for short. As a daughter of scientists she had a thirst for knowledge about the way pokemon coexisted with humans, so, when she was old enough, she began her travel around Kanto, first as a trainer who wanted to become the very best. Coming close to defeat the Elite Four on a few occasions, only to be defeated. She traveled between the Kanto and Jotho regions, but with the passing of the years she began to lose interest in becoming a Pokemon Master and would rather become a pokemon professor. At some point she learned about the destruction of Cinnabar Islands thanks to a volvanic eruption, and she was afraid that her parents were no longer alive, but, by some miracle, they survived and relocated in Saffron City. This lifted a huge weight from her shoulders. Astrid keeps traveling around the world, enjoying nature and discovering more pokemon than those exclusive to the Kanto and Jotho regions.

Pokémon: Gastly and Growlithe are Tassel's only current Pokémon. Growlithe never goes into a Pokéball, while Gastly only retreats when it is windy.

Personality: Tassel is rather friendly- although can be reserved around older people. Shy, but very polite and playful. At younger ages, Tassel suffered through depression, but has since then been able to work through most of it. His Pokémon help him be more outgoing- without them around, he is very quiet.

Bio: Tassel was born into a very happy, nuclear family. He was raised in a very supportive world, with both his mother and father working in jobs they loved, while having plenty of time for family. Around the age of 11, Tassels mother went missing, and was found dead later that cold day. This caused Tassel to become very reserved and secluded. However, after a few weeks of staying in his room, he was greeted by a strange face surrounded by a purple haze- Gastly. Gastly was able to share with Tassel memories of his mother- from her childhood and even her dying thoughts as hypothermia took over while sitting in the forest. "Tassel... I hope... you get to grow old without me. I wish I could've said goodbye one last time. I guess... I'll die... with that regret." With some form of closure, Tassel was able to move on. He formed a friendship with the Gastly that helped him out of his slump, and the two eventually managed to save a Growlithe from a group of angry Poliwhirls. Now sixteen, Tassel has finally decided to become a Pokémon trainer, despite having a late start. With his Gastly and Growlithe, Tassel feels like he can accomplish anything!

So for Gym Leaders, Team Yami grunts, and the Elite Four, I will control them. Battles will work similar how they do in the anime. No levels, no stats, all skill. But do know who you’re up against. Regular NPC trainer battles don’t have to be played out, unless you desire to.

A question for you, Endless:  what Gym Leaders are in this region, and what types of Pokemon do they use?  This would be very helpful for my ambient description and for Shard's knowing who he is combating for an opponent.  Thanks in advance!

I was just finishing the description of the Gym Leaders. So, in Hyssop Town, the Gym Leader, Typhus, uses bug types.

In Vero Town, the Gym Leader, Raideus, uses electric types. 

In Traverse City, the Gym Leader, Baldur, uses rock types. 

In Ernesto City, the Gym Leader, Grimlock, uses dark types.

In Pyro Town, the Gym Leader, Burna, uses fire types.

Finally, in Shiva City, the Gym Leader, Clairy, uses ice types.

It's a Maelstrom of references!  I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of Pokemon are going to be unveiled in the Gym battles, or what are native to the region.  Maybe Tassel will get some new friends to add to his collection, and Elly too if one catches her liking.

I'm looking forward to this battle.  Freo might end up getting a chance to shine for once, after all the times he sat on the sidelines due to typing mismatching in my previous RPs.

She listened as her elders spoke of how it could move the seas to its command with a single motion and destroy the very earth they stood on. The very idea was incredible to her but was also something to be feared and respected. As a child she began to tend to the pokemon’s shrine and send forth her prayers. She didnt know if it could hear her or really cared if it did. What mattered was that she understood what she was to be leaning from Kyogre, from the sea itself. She learned to be fluid, to be calm on a good day, and to only rage when something brought it upon you. She eventually began to travel and share these ideas with others as she helped those in need along the way.
