I respectfully disagree. While yes, Disney wasn't free of bad PR or controversy back then. It's impossible for a large public facing corporation to not piss someone off at one point or another, especially in such an increasingly polarized world.

However, Iger had a history of handling that bad PR much better during his tenure than Chapek did.
Iger has been much more outspoken on social issues, so I doubt the "Don't say gay" would get as bad as it did if he was in charge at the time. Not to mention that he was much better liked by even the lower-level employees in the company.
