I think the thing that surprised me the most was that the scene with Terra holding Ven under his arm in the Great Maw in Radiant Garden was completely scrapped, and that was one of my favorite pictures.

Earlier trailers are always different from the final product. Look at the earlier trailers for all the KH games. Same goes for the KH3D trailer from January (thank God, I was getting sick of Sora's KH1 clothes)
