There have been a lot of suggestions along the lines of "when KH3D is release, please _________ regarding spoilers". So my question is, what do you want our policies to be? Please discuss it amongst yourselves, and then we'll come out with an official position regarding it (taking your opinions into account, of course). Things to consider:

 

1. What counts as spoilers?

2. Where are spoilers allowed and not allowed?

 

And finally, will you be spoiling yourself? You can just use the poll to answer this one, and in your reply, please focus on the above two questions. Thanks.

I would like to think that we can take care of ourselves. If we feel that something might be a spoiler than we just back off.

Well, I won't be checking out the forums here until the game releases in NA. But if you want a suggestion, could you remove the status updates that always appear on the right side of the home page. I don't want someone to spoil something in their status while I'm checking news for the NA version.

I will not accept being spoiled, so I'll have to agree with axel91.

No videos of gameplay or cutscenes on the main page. Interviews are always welcome

Taking away statuses due to spoilers seems a bit much.

Haven't been around for very long so I didn't know that there people as bad as that... I've seen spoiler topics in my time over the internet but not that bad.

D: Not the status updates.

 

I'd think for those who would be searching up news from the NA version, maybe it should be a rule until release that no one outwardly talks of spoilers unless in a PM, chatroom or thread.

i think main story stuff and what not should not make it into the main headlines and what not, but the kh3d threads should go on unregulated so that proper help with boss fights and confusion in the story line can be addressed properly. also proper use of spoiler tabs would be wonderful. even if most people don't care about the spoilers don't want to ruin it for the rest of the people. also i would keep the status updates for the meantime and see if the site can uphold the no spoiler gentlemen agreement (not that we have one but i take we will come up with something) and if not then remove the status update bars

 

and i guess to answer the question thats being asked

 

1. for me a spoiler is anything to deal with the story line, character, and bossfight... gameplay, general reviews are not considered spoilers (at least in my eyes). also AMVs based on the game and maybe fanfics with the main story archs incorporated into the story may contain spoilers to so that should also be taken in consideration.

 

2. spoilers should not be allowed for about half a year to a year in any place besides the games thread it self, Random (so-so about that thou), and the crafts area (but needs to have somesort of spoiler thing or something to show that it contains spoilers)

@axel91, A good suggestion but I also don't like people making threads in which the title is a spoiler itself. But then again, that is not under your control.

A good way to lessen this 'spoiler-titles' would be to hide 'Recent Topics' on homepage as well as the status updates.

 

1. To me a spoiler would be anything related to Story and Gameplay so with that being said, pretty much anything.

what does not count as a spoiler would be news about NA release and stuff like as well as merchandise, english trailer, and other news not pertaining to the story nor gameplay.

 

2. I think there should be designated sub forum that will contain {SPOILER}. Anyone who post post in a wrong section must be redirected to the right one immediately. This is where the moderators must work hard eliminating those spoiler threats. (I am exaggerating myself here but it is for the benefit of the kh people)

id like to say i wont be spoiling myself but i no all to well its not true since ill be going mad to get all the cutscenes for editing Curse my urge and need to have every single clips from every kh game whether ive played them or not T_T i just cant help myself

what i consider to be spoilerish is like the ending and anything that has to do with the Xehanorts and the Mysterious Figure, basicly i say anything that hasn't been shown in the trailers is a spoiler but thats just me, im sure most of the cutscenes in the game will be spoilerish i think mostly everything will be a spoiler, besides gameplay of just fighting normal enemys, but a gameplay of fighting a boss could be a spoiler and any time of dialog could be a spoiler as well.

unfortunately a lot of people do that that is not reall acceptable to me i kinda find it rude because it will most likely be the first topic on the list or recent topics and you read that and be like "Well thats spoiled for me thanks a lot" and as some people said status updates as well some people might put a spoiler in them maybe you could try to take the status update down for a while at lest untill the NA version comes out. another place could be in other theards, like for example someone made a thread about DDD that was like, "Who do you think is that guy that was talking to Riku during the special trailer," i know thats not a really good example but its all i could really come up with and than someone who has see the part of the game where they say his name puts in the topic and doesnt use the spoiler tags, because some people who don't want to see spoilers of the game might be reading through the responces and see that and rage. I don't really know where spoilers would be allowed, maybe in private chats between people who do want to get spoiled or something thats all i can really think of. Persoanly I don't want to spoil myself so I don't want to leave the site untill i get the game I might when I learn the release of DDD in NA but I don't want to but I just might have to but than again it could aslo be about will power to not spoil yourself idk

Private Message, chatrooms and chat will only work. Those are the most guaranteed to work unless some dick comes around in chat and PM spoiling then no. If threads are used in spoilers...please make a separate subforum for that. And also make sure it does not appear in recent topics. I dont know if thats possible, but it could help. Also I agree, take away the last posted on topic thing. Be nice two have a double page on threads, one being all the subforums we have already and the other page being spoilers. Or at least the subforum for spoilers minimized automatically and we dont have to do it our selves while risking the chance of spoilers.

I feel the need to quote myself because people are crying about no recent topics and status updates. If it were made minimizable, then only the people who dont want to be spoiled can hide them. Yeah, then the spoiler-free people have to deal with no status (oh the HUMANITY), but its better than being spoiled.

I plan on going into KH3D as blind as I can when it comes out for AMERICA!

I want to watch a complete walkthrough without subtitles that way i won't spoiler the plot, which is like 70% of the game. and I WILL NOT LOOK AT THE END CREDITS! .. gotta keep telling myself that.

When birth by sleep came out in Japan I was very mad to find out that we would get it months earlier so I spoiled myself completely with walkthroughs and everything to my surprise when the English version came out I was shocked to find out that all of my predictions were wrong so I like the fact that I can make up my on plot to it cause I don't understand japan ease and it's been to long for the series to move forward just to wait

I say at least make spoiler tags mandatory, or disallow posting spoilers publicly at all. I don't really care about spoiling this game specifically for myself, but I know other people do, and I know how frustrating it can be to have someone randomly spoil. /i is great at wording things

Reveal the latest news about KH3D on the home page, but only things like the release date, preorder bonuses, magazine articles, etc. Please don't post videos of the game on the home page.

 

Other users, refrain from talking about things related to KH3D's plot in sections other than the KH3D section. If you are going to USE SPOILER TAGS!!!!!!!

The only thing i want to see when KH3D comes out is the opening. It would be best if one had to click a link to see a cutscene or walkthrough or something for the game when it comes out instead of seeing videos and pictures on the main page right away.
