Being one and my bf being one its kind of hard to explain

It feels great!

Emo is a music genre

Not a fashion.

Not a way of life.

Usually 'emos' are angsty teens

Emo is actually a genre of music.

Lyrics often include stuff about how life sucks and things will get better.

They like the color black and most darker colors. Many cut themselves and are depressed and are often quite.

People often confuse Emo with Scene.

Scene are people who like vivid colors and clothing but are also often depressed but outspoken.

Hope this helps. :D

PS. I am not saying all Emo and Scene people are like this, just the majority.

Normally a socially considered emo person is one who finds life depressing, and pointless. There's no "point", it's just how a person feels/is like.

Honestly if I had clearer skin, piercings and longer hair, ta-dah, you could consider me "Emo" because I don't see much point in life and find it depressing.

So in short, stereotypes.

Emo is when somebody feels sad. Mostly just another way of saying goth.

You took the words right out of my mouth. :P
