The Sword in the Stone: The Next King? RP

Recommended Posts

No time for an actual post right now, but somebody else can start it. And let me get this straight, there is No Killing. Not yet at least. If we get more characters along the way, than I might decide to implement a way for killing, but until then, everybody stays alive.

"Catch him!!" Guards yelled as they chased Zander out of town. They were on horse back swinging their weapons as Zander was able to doge and climb building. Luckily Zander was good at free running or he would be screwed right now. Zander was on top of the roofs and jumping from rooftop to rooftop and noticed a big opening. He then let out a sharp whistle which made his horse run up on the side of the building. Zander met it halfway and jumped off the roof landing on the horse. Zander road back into his village and then went straight to the castle. He handed over the attack plans from the enemy castle (where he just was)

Zander then walked to the local pub and had a well deserved drink

After three days from the last town he had seen, Ethan had come across a village. He checked into an inn and placed his things on the side of the bed that was arranged.

"Ugh, I can't wait until I find the Merlin faction and join it. Then I can finally cast spells..." He muttered to himself. "Maybe I'll make a spell to have weightless bags or something, this is killing me," he said, rubbing his spine. He had also noticed he was almost out of money. He decided to go to the village pub and ask to find work.

When he came in, he went to a seat and requested the bartender.

"Umm, do you have water?" Ethan asked.

"Well, we have ale, ale, and more ale." The bartender replied sarcastically and handing him a mug of cold ale.

"Fair enough..." Ethan said, looking distant. "So uh, is there any work you are offering I could help out with?"

The bartender laughed. "For a skinny shrimp like you? Ha, I'll see what I can find," As he finished his sentence, the bartender went behind the bar. Ethan grabbed his journal of prerecorded spells, some he made up, some he got from books he had read, as well as other things he'd found, like potions ingredients. He opened it up, and decided to write some more spells as he waited.

Alex sat on a branch just below the canopy of a great forest. She had one leg folded under her and the other dangling off the branch, swinging back and forth; her back was against the trunk as she sat there munching on an apple and looking at a map.

'So I got a little ways to go before I reach the village where my contact should be. Kind of lame getting stuck playing information exchange person but I supposed they wanted to give me a break after the last mission.' she shift slightly and a dull pain travel through her side. She tossed the core aside and slid down the trunk. She traveled along the path and soon came to her destination.

Hazel kept a keen eye out as she rode along the forest path on her ebony horse. The only light was the sun that seeped through the tree branches. She didn't usually travel on her own but the matter was too important to ignore. Hazel heard twigs snapping from behind her and yelling. Her head whipped around then she clicked her tongue causing her horse to speed down the forest path leaving the uninvited guests far behind.

When the bartender never came back, he decided to leave some coins on the counter and leave. He walked near the outskirts of the village and decided to walk around the wildlife, collecting ingredients for potions and trying to be inspired for more spell writing.

He glanced over to his left and noticed a figure moving fast towards him. When he got a better glimpse, he noticed it was a horse and a woman. He had jumped out of the way just in time. "Whoa, that was close." He muttered to himself. And then sat down again, a little winded from the close call. Surprisingly though, it did give him an idea for a spell. He decided to keep writing.

Hazel pulled back on the reins after almost running over someone. She trotted back to make sure the man was ok. She hopped off from her horse. " I'm sorry for the scare, are you alright?" She asked sweeping a stray hair behind her ear. Her horse bumped its nose against her back anxiously but she ignored it.

After finishing writing his thoughts down, Ethan put his journal in his pocket and looked up with a friendly smile on his face.

"Yes, I'm fine. Glad to meet someone with manners, haven't seen people like that for a while." Afraid he would lose her attention, and not wanting to be left alone with a bunch of jerks at the village he was staying at, he kept talking.

"So, where are you heading in such a hurry, anyways?" he asked politely.

Chantal shifted her wicker basket into the crook of her arm, seeing a small white flower that would be useful to her. Adding it to her pile of green plants, she wandered deeper into the forest. I probably should hurry, I can't be out all day. She jogged a little, searching for a plant that grew in the deeper shadows of the forest. Surprisingly, she found a spring, and stopped to get a drink.

Zander walked outside the bar and then went down to his little village where he owned some land. Zander was on his horse when he passed by the stream where he saw a girl drinking from it. He then got off his horse and went down to stream to talk to her. He then knelt down beside the girl at the stream. "Hello, are you apart of this village... I don't think I've ever seen you around." Zander said being the knight of the village it helped to keep up with everyone apart of his town, because they came first compared to even the kingdom.

Hazel laughed, " Yes it this seems to be a rough town." She said thinking back to her attackers. She cleared the thought from her head. " Oh, business very boring." She smiled answering his question. Hazel held out her hand for him to shake, " My name is Hazel by the way." Her eyes drifted to the notebook infront of the man. " Oh... whats this?" She asked intrigued bywhat seemed to be some sort of recipe, she didn't know. Maybe he id a follower of Merlin... She thought.

Ethan looked at his notebook. "Oh this old thing? It's just some notes I've been taking." He then thought about impressing her. "Yeah, you know, I've got some pretty all powerful spells in here and stuff. Don't usually like to brag." He did a long fake yawn. "But you know how it is." He then thought of something. If she was a traveler, maybe she could help get Ethan where he wanted to go.

"Hey, do you know if theirs a main building for the Merlin faction I could travel to? If a place like that exists I was thinking of going there to learn a few things about magic." Like how to actually cast spells, for starters, he thought to himself. Then he remembered he was trying to impress her. "I mean you know, aside from all the awesome stuff I already know..."

'Well that was boring as heck, but defintely fruitful.' Alex thought as she headed away from the village back from where she came. She scurried up a nearby as she found that she was better able to cover her tracks when she didn't touch the ground, the canopy made for quick cover and it was just plain fun to swing/jump from branch to branch like some wild women. After she had gone a little ways she caught sight of a knight talking to a what appeared to be a peasant. She crouch down to listen for a tad, her body hidden by the folage.

~Chantal~

"Yes, there's a village on the other side of this forest if you walk that way." Chantal replied pointing behind her. "You should come across a path that should lead you the out." she added. She looked over the man, and deemed him a knight. "Well, its no wonder you haven't seen me. You must be very busy with your job."

~Anastasia~

Anastasia sat on the little cushion next to the window that always casted rainbows around the room. Her father had been away on a meeting about the new government for Camelot, and she decided he had been away for too long. But she wasn't going to worry. Bad things didn't happen to people like her.

~Mary~

Caring for a small popualtion of children is not as easy as it sounded. Mary thought grimly as she separted a squabbling pair of children. Most of the orphans were now uncared for, and she was the oldest girl the children found, and immediately looked to her for care. Mary sighed, for how could she leave these little ones on her own?

~Leala~

Leala eased her horse into a slow trot as she wandered through the city. She had a slow day today, and was thinking about the death of their king, and how they were going to fix it. Well, one of the knights should. Someone who was loyal to the king, and had fighting practice. But not me. I don't want caught up in all that politics stuff.

Archie stood outside a cottage his father had owned, practicing sword forms. He knew that he would have to give up this peaceful get away and return to the world at large, to help keep the peace and help the new ruler. He knew not who would be the next king or queen, but he would make sure they were right for the job.

He finished his practice and went inside to pack his things. A few minutes later, he went out to his horse and saddled her. Mounting, Archie began his journey to Camelot.

Zander looked at the stream and looked at the girl. "Yeah it can get busy but I do like to keep tabs on people in this village. But its nice to meet you Ms.... I don't think I got your name, my name is Zander I'm apart of the Order of the Hatchet, its a pleasure to meet your acquaintance." Zander said with a smile as he sat down and just stared off into the sky.

" No I don't know about any Merlin faction, sorry." Hazel said, this confirmed her thoughts he was one of the men wanting a wizard as ruler. She rid the thought from her mind trying to remain friendly. " If there were such a place I imagine it would be closer to the center of Camelot." She patted her horse on the neck to calm it down, her horse never liked standing still for long. Hazel looked back at the notbook, " So you can cast spells?"

Crap, He thought to himself. The lie deepens.

"Ummm, yes? Oh I mean yes! Yes of course I can cast spells!" He lied. "You know, I just... Don't use magic a lot, you know? Only when I want to." He

started to feel bad the deeper this lie got. The sooner he could learn to cast spells and other wizard things, the sooner this lie can end.

Archie rode a ways, keeping an eye on his surroundings. Chaos followed close behind the fall of the ruler. Hopefully, Archie and the Order could keep things together till the world got back to normal.

As he rode, he heard voices. One of them sounded familiar. He altered his course. He found a stream and followed it till he found Zander and Chantal. He recognized Zander from The Order.

"Greetings." he called out as he brought his horse to a halt.

'So a knight huh.' Alex thought, debating whether or not she should take him out. She decided not to as that would be below her. She was about to leave when a bird crashed near the stream and started to charge to two solders. If she was an anime character she would have tear-dropped at the display.

'I suppose not everyone is born with a full deck' She grabbed her bow, ready to use it if necessary.

"Chantal. Pleasure to meet yours, as well." She turned at the sound of someone approaching. "Hello, knight." Lord, two knights in the span of five minutes. What has happened to normalcy?

Zander looked at Archie. He didn't recognize him but then again Zander didn't spend to much time at the castle. He was always being sent out on missions. "Hello, I don't believe I've seen you before, how long have you been apart of the Hatchet?" Zander asked Archie
