hello everyone, your friendly neighborhood Tails here. So, i'm just wondering, do you prefer the original or remake of any certain video game? Just curious to know what your opinions are. Do you prefer the original version of a game or a remake version of it?

I'd have to say:

Star Fox 64 (original)

Super Mario 64 (Remake)

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (Remake)

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Remake)

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Original)

It really depends. I like it when older games are remade for a platform that I actually own, but I honestly pretty much like any game in any form. Ocarina of Time, for example. I don't care how nice the new version looks or how blocky the original one looks. I will love it in any form for what it is. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png

Remakes are always better per se, but that doesn't mean I like them more.

Take Fire Red. It was an excellent game, no doubt, but the time I spent playing it nowhere near equaled the enjoyment I got out of playing the original when I was young and it was all new.

If I had to pick which of those two was my favorite, it would be Red. However, if I was asked which I'd want to play, I'd be Fire Red.

But sometimes the remakes are even by a longshot. Take Dissidia as an example. Duodecim, while it was a sequel/prequel, it was essentially a remake of the original. But it's gameplay was so revolutionary, I can't help but like it more.

Well ofcourse it's better to play orginal version in most situations imo, but there is some exceptions:

Remake of KH CoM

Remake of Boy and his Blob (The orginal NES version is just terrible, but WII version is very nice platformer)

Remake of Ocarina of Time

But mostly I prefer the orginal version

I was born when Pokemon Gold and Silver and they were released and they were amazing they made me Feel happy, And when Heartgold And Soulsilver were released they were amazing! being able to walk with your Pokemon. fighting Red and being able to rematch all the gym leaders! it was incredible.

I love the original version of a game more than a remake.

Remakes change some of the little details that I loved.

Some remakes are pretty good, though. For example, 358/2 Days. The graphics in the original were horrible, but I like the way they'll be now :3

Well, The original COM had such a charm to it. It varies from game to game. I usually prefer remakes fo most of the FF series.

I like some originals better. But then again find some remakes better.

It all depends on how well they pull it off. ;)

I'm not a graphics whore, but I like both equally. For example: COM on the GBA made me reminisce on how great it felt to once again play in 2D, and in RE:COM, it made the game feel dark through the cutscenes, voice acting, music.

This is a tough question. =A= In some cases, I like the remake better than the original, or it's the other way around. For example, I love the remake of Ocarina of Time because of the new controls on the 3DS, the graphics are gorgeous, and that the game itself became portable on a handheld console.

i prefer the remakes but sometimes i prefer the originals more than the remakes.

For example, the Resident Evil Remake for the Gamecube is a Great example!
