As I'm sure a lot of you have encountered, google has a habit of making ads personalized to whatever you do on the computer...

But have you ever had a moment where it personalizes to something that has nothing to do with your computer life?

I was reminded of this recently, when my sister and I had a lengthy philosophical discussion about religion. I talked about being agonosti, and how I could never really settle on a religion

The next day, a bunch of my ads were asking me if I was unsure about my religion, and advertising things like Christianity and Buddhism. I even got some christian youtube recommendations.

And this is far from an isolated instance, I've had stuff like this happen all the time

I think I'll use Bing from now on.

Okay, so how did they know about my sisters' conversation? I don't google religion or anything, sure, I've participated in religious discussion on this forum, but it's very infrequent, and these ads started to flood my computer right after this conversation. And stuff like this has happened before

I guess Big Brother is watching O.O 1984.

Probably just a coincidence, but I know that Google does adjust it's ads based on what you search on it's engine...which is creepy...

The thing is, I am single.

I didn't search anything to get an ad like this, what hatok is stating is really true. Google does stalk your lives.

I've had a lot of things like this ._. On YouTube too for suggested videos. Drives me crazy sometimes ._.
