Edit: Now that we've all had a few days with the new chat system, please finalise your votes in the poll above. At the time of writing, the votes are 23 for and 11 against. Unless this changes drastically by tomorrow, then the new chat system will be staying.

 

Another feature I enabled is the ability to choose between themes for the chat. This is done by opening the list of online users, hovering over one of the icons (the "Change the chat theme" icon), and selecting the theme you want. Currently there are two themes, "Facebook Style" and "Leaf". Please vote in the poll above and let me know which you prefer.

It's awesome, just like the facebook one.

It would be helpful if you could be more specific, eg. point out what's different in the new one that you don't like... because they are both visually very similar.

I added a poll to the first post. I'll leave this chat system up for about a day or so before we make a decision.

I don't like the new chat system because of the video call why? Because I don't feel comfortable with the new system especially with that.

Video call? I doubt I'd use that, but it's still pretty sweet. I like it!

I love the chatroom, the avatar near the username and stuff Now I can't find the difference between the FB layout and KH13.

Edit: NVM got it to work

 

EDIT 2: Yeah the first time I click on it on a page then it gets all buggy, but when i click on it again while being on the same page (did not refresh the page) then it works fine.

But if you refresh and/or switch to another page it happens again.

 

Also when I click on a member to talk to them it gets really buggy and almost crashes the page. Also I can't be able to talk to them because no chat box is appearing. =/

I personally think it's alright.

• It is perfectly functional, and the pictures help to keep it more organized, minimizing confusions.
• Any bugs I experienced were exactly the same as the ones I had with the other chat anyway.

So I'd say do it.

 

 

 

Edit: Except that now, after experimenting a bit more, there are a few more funky issues. When you have it open in two different windows, it gets buggy and doesn't post everything you type in both. It kind of... splits things between the two windows.

So unless there's some way to fix that, probably stick with the old one?

I like it, seeing as it's a chat bar, and it's hard to find fault in it. My only problem is that the noise it makes when you get a message is not as prominent as the old one was, making it harder to hear it when I'm listening to music or watching videos.

It's actually pretty good, I haven't tried out the Video Call option, but I'll do it soon
