So do you think that Microsoft's new Xbox will be a fail console. in my opinion I think it will. Microsoft barely has any good franchises on their Xbox consoles except Splinter Cell, Left4Dead, and Halo. Those are the only good franchises Microsoft has atm. Not only that but Microsoft have been making crappy games lately, ESPECIALLY with that Kinect. I really hope we don't need to use the Kinect for the new Xbox otherwise it's a no-buy for me. Another reason why i say it may fail because even though the Xbox series is pretty popular in the States, it's not too popular eveywhere else especially in Japan and I just don't see too many japanese devs making any J-rpg exclusives on it since most of the devs will be focused on the Wii U and PS4.

 

 

I dunno. They have a lot of loyal fans for some reason. If they decided to block used games they might fail. I hope they do...

The way Microsoft is making the system out to be seems like a really tough sell, but who knows until it happens

Since news came out that Sony won't make the same mistake of selling the PS4 at a price ridiculously higher than it's competitor, all of the xbox fanboys I know personally  have said they're going to get the new PS and that Xbox is shit.  So yeah, here's hoping, maybe the failure will force them to finally sell rare back to nintendo so we can get banjo-threeie.

For what ever asinine reason, XBOX has fans. And fans tend to stick to things. So, regardless of the fact that an always online system is probably the most derptarded thing in the history of ever, they'll buy it. Reasonable people won't. People without a steady internet connection, (which I'm pretty sure is 40% of the American population), certainly won't. So ultimately, I think they'll sell enough to make it, but only just, and they certainly won't beat out their sales from this gen.

Seriously though, I'm not liking a lot of what I'm hearing. Blocking used games doesn't sit well with me, and always online is a definite no. 

Microsoft only has Halo and Gears of War.

 

Splinter Cell and Left4Dead (the ones you mentioned) are both available on other consoles and the the PC. Heck even Halo & GoW are on the PC.

 

Though on topic to whether or not the system will fail, time will tell. From the reports leaked so far the system is more like an entertainment system that just happens to play games on the side. I personally won't buy the system because I am not a fan of the Xbox in general and never have been but I am curious to see what Microsoft are even planning with the new system. I've heard people say they'll switch to either PC or PS4 next gen now after hearing about the new system but who knows.

 

All I know is Microsoft won't get a sale from me in this generation so I don't care if they fail or not.

Besides, not being able to play used games or play them with another friend's console if you let them borrow it. They're practically giving Sony the next Gen. Besides, i like the games that Sony has more anyway.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Halo on PlayStation 4 since it's developers are developing for the PlayStation 4.
