Why are all the Final Mix titles only on Playstation consoles?

Posted

I understand that certain games, there isn't enough space in Time gaps between games for added content to make sense, like in COM, and 358/2 Days. Not to mention, that they probably couldn't handle any extra content, due to Space Capacity. But then DDD comes into the equation, as the 3DS could handle more Extra content im pretty sure for a fact. Yet Nomura hasn't mentioned anything about a DDD Final Mix at all. Meanwhile the Playstation titles(KH 1, KH 2, and BBS) all got FM releases. Why is that? Is it just because of Space Capacity issues? Or do they just favor Playstation over Nintendo?

Most likely a coincidence.

I don't think so. The 3DS as you mentioned in other threads, is on PAR WITH THE PS2 and could easily handle more content. Not to mention, the 3DS HAS DLC TOO!!! If Nomura and SE were too lazy to just edit the game and release it, they could just have Final Mix DLC. Im pretty sure that SE just favors Playstation more. Not surprised though. Besides, im pretty sure that falling out FF had with Nintendo didn't help things either.

They are the major/numbered titles in the series.

That's probably the reason.

But to fair, every one of the games is equally important story wise(Except for Coded, which you only really need the Ending cutscene to explain the next key plot to the story), but the Major/Numbered titles tend to be alot longer and more important when you think about it. But IMHO, DDD is just as important as 1, 2, and BBS, since it connects everything from the past games up to this point, explains how most of the story was set into motion(Explaining the parts the BBS didn't already cover, like how Xehanort's plan to capture Sora started in KH1) and sets up the whole story for KH3. It seems really important when you put it that way.

The 3DS just came out a couple years back. It has more to do with what games he has ideas for things to add to which tend to be numbered titles (in bbs's case kh0).

True. I still think that DDD deserves a Final MIx.

i know it really annoys me why can't it be on xbox as well

The Final Mix's weren't DLC's, they were completely new games entirely. The PSP could have had DLC'S for Birth by Sleep, but Square wants to make money, and they can make more if they release a whole new game. Plus the fact Disney doesn't like it's company to have downloadable content on their games.

You answered your own question. Plus, there's nothing to add in KH3D since the stage is set.

You say THE EXACT SAME THING about KH 1, KH 2, and BBS. They already had the stages set for future games in THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS. But they still got Final Mixes, regardless. So Why can't KH3D have one?

No extra content.

No extra content.

Nomura could easily come up with more Extra content. You know that man.

Then overseas should have gotten it, which would then lead to an eventual Final Mix.

The US version of BBS had the same amount of content as the Jap. version(Mysterious Figure and Vanita's Lingering Will were in both versions), yet BBS still got FM anyway. Nomura could easily do the exact same thing with DDD. Point is, it looks like he and SE favor Playstation more, which is why the KH games for playstation get FM's and every other KH on non PS console doesn't get one.

There probably is no extra content to the story. Besides, we are close to KH3 anyway. If any extra content were put into a KH3DFM, it might spoil some things that are in KH3.
