You know, it seems like nowadays that the E3 event held every year is starting to lose its edge. I mean at E3 it's all about the gaming companies showing off their games and systems but with each new year that goes by it seems like E3 is starting to lose all the hype it usually gets. I mean just look, gaming companies are starting to make conferences of their own instead of E3 to announce their new systems and games. I'm starting to see that gaming companies may no longer need E3 just to reveal all their hardware and software. Especially Nintendo, as they are now starting to rely more on the Nintendo Directs which get a lot more hype than E3 has ever gotten this year. The same thing could very well happen with Sony and Microsoft, and then all you know E3 won't really be necessary and cease to exist to gamers everywhere. I don't know about you guys but I'm starting to feel as if E3 is slowly fading away and not getting as much hype as they should. E3 nowadays feel more like a hit and miss. Sometimes they are worth all the excitement. And sometimes they can be very boring -looks at last year's E3-

Well for Nintendo their Nintendo Directs have pretty much taken place over most announcements.

Sony and Microsoft, more so this year than others, have also been announcing a lot of good games outside of E3.

E3 is still a good event but it's not as big announcement wise as it used to be sadly.

Exactly. To tell you the truth I'm just not feeling hyped about E3 as much a I used to be. I just feels like something where more games get announced rather than something that feels like a very special event to watch every year. I mean a few years back I ALWAYS woke up early in the morning on weekends just to watch E3 and make sure to be on time for it to just and treated the event like a holiday. now, it's just "meh, it's just more games getting announcd. Nothing too special". I mean do still get a little hyped if it's a certain type of game getting announced but other than that not all that much now.

Comic Con is more interesting in my opinion owo

Yeah, I know what you mean Tails. The only thing I've been really looking forward to at E3 this year was more details about the new Super Smash Bros game, but it's just been anounced that we'll be getting that information in a Nintendo Direct just before the event. Now, I'm perfectly fine with this. After all, who wouldn't want to get information on games sooner, right? However, I now have little intrest in E3.

Well it depends on the games that people are anticipating. Another CoD title?

Eww... No.

Something as epic as a sneak peek of KH3? Holy s**t YES!!!

We're heading into the future.

I don't see it the same way.  I see them as building off of the hype of E3.  Holding your own conference is expensive, but they are also still investing in E3 as well.  To me they are expanding the event to build up hype prior to the actual event.  And it's to their advantage to do this so that they have more opportunities to get information about their products out there.

I know what you feel Tails, the only time I ever got hyped for E3 was in 2011....and that's it.

Most of the big reveals now are made either in seperate conferences or in episodic announcements like Nintendo Direct.

The last E3 in 2012 was a joke especially Microsoft's conference with all the Kinect bullshit going on back then and most of the reveals last E3 was mostly for services that wasn't related that much to gaming.

the Nintendo Direct hyped me soo much than any of the last E3 conferences in the past 3 years.

It's just a matter of time before the gaming industry decide to abandon E3 and do their own thing to hype the people.

The only things I'm hyped for in E3 this year are Nintendo games that's going to be shown at E3 and what's Sony is offering with the Ps4......I have no interest in Xbox One

So yeah, other than that,I'm not excited for E3 at all except the things I've mentioned above.
