"Gaming has changed. It's no longer about games, cartridges, or save batteries. It's an endless series of console wars, fought by fanboys and logical people. Gaming, and its consumption of life, has become a well-oiled machine. Gaming has changed. ID tagged fanboys carry ID tagged consoles, and use ID tagged games. The nerd rage inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities.Genetic nerd rage. Information nerd rage. Emotional nerd rage. Console control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. Gaming has changed."

Now I know what Snake meant in MGS4 when he said war has changed. The gaming war IS changing.

Oh Snake, you were so right.

I miss the days when gaming was about GAMING, not about which console is better or which game has better graphics.

To bad that gaming is becoming more about graphics and less about gaming...oh sh...that's a paradox...

90% cutscene, 10% gameplay

I remember when 8bit graphics were considered advanced. Now look at all these silly realistic graphics and motion gaming.

You're so right about the silly realistic graphics.

You know what....I'm going to take out my NES and play some Mario Bros. 3 and The Legend of Zelda! >:3

"War. War never changes."

No matter what, war is always fought over differences. This whole console war is fought because, mostly, some people get a satisfaction from watching people squirm when they mention which console is 'superior'. Other times, it's because people are ignorant, and that's how things are..sadly.

Dont ruin what Snake says by reffering it to fools.

I miss when gaming was this.

kil lall and let nomura Lead the new future  which skynet is not taking over :D

I also think it has changed... People think it's all about graphics and they forgot the about what's most important! The story that involves us!

People fight over too many things, and forget to enjoy the games as well... Now the big questions are "Which console is the best in this genation?"

I miss the days we thought about what game would come next to fufil the story, or how that game was just freaking awesome because you can't stop thinking about it because it meant something to you...

There are people who still consider this, but it's sad how most of gamers these days just want better resolution in their games...

It's really simple. The days of a dedicated device are over, just look at smartphones. Why create a bunch of separate devices where you can just as easily combine all of those devices together without losing effectiveness? This has been a trend that has going on for a while. Basically since the Gamecube, Xbox, and PS2 generation.

Now Snake's speech makes much more sense

And as I said before,I think we forgot the point of playing video games

And I know I was one of those because I act fanboyish sometimes out of my control....because....y'know...the curse of modern internet

THIS

I swear I find more charm in old Megaman games than any of these over-glorified cutscene-heavy games of these days

What happened to the days when playing games like Sonic 2,Zelda Majora's mask,Super Metroid and Banjo-Kazooie.......etc was considered actual fun and gaming???

Back in my day, gaming was so much better.
