With FFX and X-2 getting remade, does anyone think there's a chance FFIX will get remade, this time with voice acting? And I remember reading that there was once talk about making a sequel to FFIX. FFIX is one of my favorite Final Fantasy games, and I'd love to play the possible remake and sequel.

well the thing is itd be much harder to do an hd remake considering it was on the ps1 and the polygon ratio and different stuff

FF VII has higher priority. Also, X and X-2 are remasters, along with what Eternal said.

They aren't being remade, they're being remastered in HD. Massive difference. Square Enix haven't spoken about IX being remade. The only title they've talked about being remade is VII.

People would probably be pissed if they remake Final Fantasy IX instead of VII so I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon.

I don't know about you, but I'd like to see a couple half-Genome half-Summoner kids running around in the Alexandria castle.

It won't get a remake for the same reason VII won't. The original team that made it is gone, and it'd have to be completely done over from scratch.

If they did it with FF3 and 4 (For DS) and in my belief that FF IX is more... "animated" than FFVII... I think is possible... not on a near future but.. well.. anyway I´m expecting a FF6 remake too so I can wait.

3 and 4 are different since they're pixelated and not with actual 3D Models.

 

Also, they already remade VI for GBA.
