Puppy Problems

Recommended Posts

So around Christmas time my dad bought a puppy for my mom, but since she deemed herself "too busy" puppy duty has been passed on to me. The passed few months have been ok but lately with me trying to get ready to go back to school this dog has been extremely clingy and over protective. How do i fix it???

can we not be assholes for once please

If he bought the dog for her (though I'm assuming it's still a family dog) you should all take responsibility for it. Especially if you have school, YOU shouldn't be the one doing most of the work for her dog. Tell/ask your mother that it's her dog, her responsibility, and that you'll of course help out but you will need to focus on your schoolwork once it starts. Either everyone helps, or give it to someone to can handle it.

But yeah. Being serious now. You're pretty much screwed. The dog has pretty much decided you are a part of his pack. There isn't anything wrong with it though. If you really don't want it around tie it up outside. But that's pretty cruel...

I know how it feels, I have a dog, gotta go to school and go to the training every day. I don't play any videogames lately cause I really don't have time and I sleep barely 5 hours per day

If its clingy it will be clingy, you might show a bit too much affection for it (unless you disciplined it correctly). Other than that, make sure you have an adult that you know that will take good care of it while you are gone. Before that, make sure the dog gets used to the adult, or else it will go crazy.
