Have any of you had a dream, where the focus was on a person that in the dream, you knew them, but in the real world, you don't? You've never met this person and you're led to believe (in the dream) that you've got some time left before you meet them?
I ask these questions for last night, I had a most curious dream. It started with me, at my grandmother's house. There was this dog, a white Shiba-Inu sort of dog with a golden stripe running down the body. It was being chased around by one of my grandmother's cats before I took the dog and held it. As it was a puppy, I cradled the dog in my arms. From there, it was a semi-weird transition as the dog turned into a human girl. The best way for me to explain this part is the positions I held the dog as it changed. First, I cradled it in my arms, like a newborn baby. Then, I held it over my shoulder, like you were burping a baby or even just holding an older baby. Then, the last way I held the girl was on my shoulders, like it was riding on me. Skip a small bit in the dream (due to passage of time, I guess) and I enter my grandma's house again to find a little smiling blonde girl in the house, no older than 6. We converse for a bit (about what exactly I can't remember) and then I hear my thoughts. They go like this, "I am going to adopt this girl as soon as I'm done paying something off." (The reason I say something is because I can't remember exactly what)
Even stranger than the dog to girl transition is the fact that there were memories I had within the dream regarding this girl. I had found her on the side of the road one day (she was very young, somewhat explaining the holding positions, as it would be as if I was raising her). I left her at my grandma's house for safe-keeping (I wouldn't be there for her a lot of the time due to my work schedule, so my grandma could assist me in raising her). We called her Katelyn (for whatever reason, this detail is obscure but I felt it necessary to include).
The reason I bring this up is because usually my dreams aren't as vivid and I feel like the girl within the dream is someone I am going to meet and (potentially) end up adopting. And not only that, but some of these sorts of vivid dreams I've had have actually ended up happening in real life (I dreamed up the EXACT classroom of my ninth grade teacher AND an exact sentence in HER ACTUAL VOICE months before I ever entered that classroom). I feel that because it was such a vivid dream, it might actually happen one day.
I'd like to know your thoughts, your experiences with dreams of these kinds of vivid dreams, if dreams can actually predict the future, and even your analysis on my dream.
Also, here;s a picture approximating how the girl looked in the dream. It's not spot on, but it is the most accurate.
