How do you activate certain Duel sleights?

Posted

When you win Duels as Riku, you can either get a 3 card sleight, 5 card sleight and 7 card sleight. I was wondering how can you influence what duels you get? Does it depend on what card you duel the enemy with or what?

I say it depends on the enemies themselves.

Small ones like Shadows lead to 3 card sleights, mid-sized enemies like Neoshadows involving 5, and I remember only bosses resulting in 7 card duels.

It really depends on the type of enemy you are fighting. If you're fighting against low to regular level enemies, basically common enemies, you're always going to activate Impulse. When you fight against higher level enemies, typically bigger ones like Darkballs or Defenders, you will always activate Maelstrom. When you fight high level enemies, which are always bosses, normally the higher level ones like Lexaeus and Ansem, then you will always activate Barrage. There's no way to manipulate it so you activate, say, Barrage on a group of Shadows, it is purely dictated by the type of enemy you are dueling against. Any other enemies are automatically targeted when the primary target is eliminated. That's the way the cookie...well, you get the idea.

That's a more detailed explanation than what I put up.  xD
