RoxasVen30 81 Posted January 20, 2014 Do you recomend me this 2 games?
Dracozombie 4,554 Posted January 20, 2014 You are opening a floodgate by asking this question. I've never played it myself, but people out there, especially on this site, have some very strong opinions about it going both directions. 5 Setrex, _The Door To Light_, Kurama and 2 others reacted to this
The_eternal_nothing 586 Posted January 20, 2014 I liked them alot but they both got alot of hate if you dont mind linear games then yes
Ruby Rose 8,591 Posted January 20, 2014 They're the only Final Fantasy games I've ever beaten, but that's mainly because of the fact Troy Baker was a voice actor in them
Kodakliv 558 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) Final Fantasy 13 is a good game it's character driven so you get attached to the characters and the story isn't bad though they could explain things much better. You can easily put 100 hours into the game if you do the side-quests and what not. This game is very linear I mean very linear until the very end when you go on Grand Pulse then it opens up big time but for most of the game it's a straight path. Final Fantasy 13-2 on the other hand was a meh game, it was kind of a mess with the story and if you fully want to understand what the heck is going on with the game you will have to buy the DLC for it which could cost alot of money if you add it all up. The only good thing I will say about this game is that it's faster paced and it feels much smoother than the original, other than that the Story sucks imo. Though they add enough interesting characters to the story to keep you entertained. So in a nut shell I would say get FF13 and play it through, you can skip FF13-2 and watch the important clips on youtube unless you really want to play FF13-2 otherwise I would highly skip it lol. Jim 2,990 Posted January 20, 2014 I thought they were pretty good. XIII is a good game, but can get kinda dull because of how linear it is. It has some good music though, and the storyline is decent. I liked XIII-2 better, since its main antagonist was awesome (one of my personal favorite antagonists), and it was less linear. Story was a bit of a mess overall, but there were a lot of great aspects to it. 1 Reyn reacted to this
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted January 20, 2014 XIII is a terrible game, but beautiful in terms of graphics, music, and overall style. Would I recommend playing it? Nah. Now, the soundtrack is a different story. Can't comment on XIII-2, haven't played yet.
Kodakliv 558 Posted January 20, 2014 I will however say this I will get Lightning Returns due to the fact that I love Lightning as she is my favorite character
Shana09 5,769 Posted January 20, 2014 Final Fantasy XIII is different from your normal Final Fantasy game, but as a stand alone game it isn't awful. It is actually good. The soundtrack is unbelievably beautiful, the graphics are extremely well done, the story is nice, the gameplay is decent and its pretty good. The only flaws I see is that the gameplay is too automatic, there is literally a button that does everything for you. The story gets a bit confusing but it was alright for me. People say its too linear but I'm used to it I supposed with the amount of linear games I played in the past. There are some characters that I personally liked such as Vanille, Sazh, Lightening, and Hope. However, many people also hate it. It is best to buy it and see for yourself, this game gets a lot of mixed reviews, so you wont get a direct answer.
Reyn 1,755 Posted January 20, 2014 XIII is a good game. It is linear and gets boring, but the story and battle gameplay are pretty good. So is the music. XIII-2 has more non linearity and alot more sidequests. I find it alot better, i would definitely get XIII-2. The story isnt as good as XIII, but its still great, along with the battle gameplay. Plus there's a pokemon kind of training system in the game anyway.
Jilly Shears 2,144 Posted January 20, 2014 Some people like it, some people don't. You might as well just play it yourself because of how polarizing it is to some people.
Dave 5,715 Posted January 20, 2014 Well, that depends on whether or not you think heroes should have plans. 2 Zola and Jilly Shears reacted to this
Sora96 17,256 Posted January 20, 2014 FINAL FANTASY XIII was amazing. I didn't fully enjoy FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 because of the time travel concept. In my opinion, if you don't do time travel right it can ruin the entire thing.
xxClouDxxmoon 901 Posted January 20, 2014 Really depends on you. If you are not an expanded gamer or are not a massive RPG player I guess go ahead. Otherwise it is rather horrible. And don't let people make you think the only thing wrong with XIII is that it is linear, because it isn't.
Taeyeon 1,137 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) The XIII trilogy is one of those things where you either hate it or love it. In my opion XIII - Great amazing soundtrack, stunning visual, though the game is very linear and lacking in the customizations a bit. The story is still great though. XIII-2 Great gameplay, good soundtrack, the story can get confusing due the time paradox and such, but it some what becomes straight forward at the end. I love the XIII series thats me though Edited January 20, 2014 by Lie Ren
Setrex 1,031 Posted January 20, 2014 XIII had good graphics and a very good soundtrack, however the game was insanely linear and the story was pretty meh. I found Lightning to be a very hard character to care about and Sazh was the only character that I had any like for (he had a chocobo in his afro too so like thumbs up all-round). The game also took forever to get going and it kept alternating between a bunch of characters that simply annoyed the hell out of me in one way or another (except Sazh). Overall the game was a poor Final Fantasy game if compared to others in the franchise but it was playable to some degree. XIII-2 was a bit hit and miss for me, I gave the game a chance despite the annoyances of XIII. It still had good graphics, it was less linear and the music was ok and to my surprise more characters I liked than in the first one, Noel and the antagonist in this case. However the story was a mess and they did the whole time-travel thing really poorly. Basically, I think you should at least play XIII to say you've tried it then have your own opinion on whether you should try the sequel or not.
Isaix 924 Posted January 20, 2014 If you haven't played any of the Final Fantasy games, you should try the older games first, they are far superior if you ask me.But if you care for graphics and achivements then I guess you could give XIII and XIII-2 a shot.A lot of people seem to like XIII and XIII-2,so you might enjoy them as well, but don't expect a great story or great character. 1 Kaweebo reacted to this
