Did you know Tetsuya Nomura directly confirmed KH to be half FF?

Posted

in an interview at e3 2005 tetsuya nomura-sama seys kingdom hearts is half final fantasy (the interview----->http://www.khinsider.com/news/IGN-Nomura-Interview-2004-2562) Q: What would you describe as the target audience for Kingdom Hearts II?Nomura: Since the games are based on Final Fantasy, we think Final Fantasy to be the center of the target audience. For Kingdom Hearts it’s maybe a lower age audience, or a higher age audience than Final Fantasy.Q: Since they have Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII on cell phones and a movie based on Final Fantasy VII, will Kingdom Hearts ever be on another platform or in another media?Nomura: Final Fantasy is our property so we can do whatever we want to, but Kingdom Hearts it’s half Disney, so we can’t use the property as we please.

Yea most of us know that. That's why when you see a lot of "What if" threads, most of the response is "Due to Disney owning most of the rights..........". Sucks, but oh well.

the reasoning of me posting this is becouse some people especially on facebok refuse to except kingdom hearts to be a final fantasy game and view it as a completely diffrent game

It's always been known as a FF + Disney conglomerate.  Though we each original KH character (each copyrighted to Disney) we see less and less FF characters.  Personally I'm fine with that.  It's evolved enough that you should play it cause you like KH, and play FF if you want FF.

that'll all change in kingdom hearts III......

Sadly, yes.

And then Nomura removed them from every single Handheld game except Re:Coded

Did we forget that Kingdom Hearts is supposed to be a crossover of DisneySquare

Fool. He didn't say it's half Final Fantasy.

I'm one of them lol although I hate facebook and don't know these people  In this case I don't really care what Nomura says, cause to me, Final Fantasy is only a little part of KH, not enough to be called 'half'. They are just cameos with a bit contribution to the story. They could just as easily be replaced by original characters. Sure, there are also many elements in KH which stem from Final Fantasy. Nothing wrong with that, but still not enough reason to see it as a Final Fantasy game. The original, new characters are the most important ones in KH along with the Disney worlds and characters. The story revolves around them.

I'm not hating on FF, I actually like it and I like it's inclusion in KH too. But fact is, it's a completely new game with FF cameos and elements, which all could be easily replaced. It's completely fine like that.

If you want to have Final Fantasy, play a Final Fantasy game. There are enough of them.

Metal Snake said it well, I also rather like it to be called a Square Enix/Disney Crossover, because it's the truth. Final Fantasy/Disney Crossover isn't.

Well whenever most people I know try to describe it they say it's a cross between Disney and FF
