Usually i stick to the canon names, so it feels legitimate. When i have to make an actual name though(like in pokemon), ill usually put spiderfreak or Alex(a nickname that i use around my school and with my friends).

Sorual

i thought it would be a cool name.

I remember the first time I played FFX when I was 10-11 I named Tidus, Amber because I didn't realize the game was asking what I wanted him to be called. needless to say I deleted that profile.

Just usually the default names. If not just my name, Philip. Because I lack creativity.

Either default names or Aiden Wakefield for guys (cause that is my OC that I made - still need to get around to drawing him, haha). For girls, just my name, Brittany...cause I'm uncreative when it comes to girl names .-.

Mine are always Rufus, Dorian, Genius, and Poe.

In memoriam of my first party in the first Final Fantasy game.

Xora, Taylor, my name or my bestfriends name.

Poofart. Cept for nowadays they wont let me....But if it's a girl I name her Xaonetta.

I use the default name if it's a character in a story with significant integration, but if it's like Etrian Odyssey or something where there's no default names I just go with whatever. I kinda got conditioned from Fire Emblem to use "Mark" as a male name, but I like using "Emma" for female characters as well just because.I use my real name for Pokemon, though. I guess I'm just conditioned in that sense, too. lol

Link from the legend of zelda

For games like Dragon Age, I tend to stick with the default names unless their name is stupid sounding then I'll change it.

For Pokemon, I'll use my own name (Chris) for the male character or I'll use Darcy for female. Can't remember why though.

Anything else, I use Setrex when playing a female character as it's been the norm since I created a character with that name on WoW. For guys though, I'll either use my own name or make something up on the spot.

I use names from other video game characters; Colette, Ash, etc.

ZefiroTera ( Which can be read as- The Scythe, God of Strong Winds)

I usually use Sam because it's my nickname and it is gender neutral. Sometimes I will use Keira or Arlena if it is a girl character. I don't normally like to be a guy character if I have a choice.

With Zelda, I usually just go with Link. In Pokemon and other RPGs that allow gender choices, I usually select a female character and name her Izzy.

I try to stay closest to canon names as possible.

If a canon name is not provided, then I would use Xamtweth.

I'll use canon names for games like Zelda or FF. In Pokemon, I use my name if I use the male, or the default name/manga name/Japanese name for the girl character. Sometimes I'll just make up a name off the top of my head because why not.
