Ratchet Reviews Final Fantasy 13-2

Posted

So I recently just finished playing 13-2 and now it is time for me to review!

Overall I thought 13-2 was far better than 13 In a lot of ways but the story was a bit lacking. Having to pay for all the DLC to fully understand the story it seems liked they rushed this game and didn't think to make it better than the original. Now this is all my thoughts and opinions so it's okay if you disagree with me. So let me go on!

Story: The story was easy to understand in the very beginning, it was great seeing a lot of characters get more spot light time. Especially for those who needed it. But as I progressed through more and more of the game the harder the story was to follow, only finding out that I have to pay more money to make the story make sense I had to through my money in, but wasn't disappointed. After buying all the dlc the story felt more alive and it made it that much better!

Gameplay: I thought 13-2 gameplay was improved quite abit it felt much smoother and cleaner. Being able to jump also made this game feel much more alive which it's predecessor didn't do. Also being able to attack enemies made it that much more enjoyable. In battle however they got rid of the stupid animations that 13 had and it just felt less like a punishment which helped it.

Graphics: it seemed that this game was rushed and they didn't spend nearly as much time on graphics as they did with 13, however it didn't hurt the game in anyway.

Overall Final Fantasy 13-2 has been given a 7.5/10

Cons: I didn't very much like the time travel that they incorporated into this game it felt cheesy and just didn't fit with the overall package. I would of preferred going on a journey like FF13, but instead got a lazy way of making a story.

Nomura loves time travel. but his time travel doesn't make a lot of sense unless you sit there and think about it for a long time. My favorite out of the  FF XIII series is XIII-2! xD

Nomura didn't have anything to do with that. He was simply the Main Character Designer.

And your part about having to pay for DLC...you can understand it perfectly fine without the DLC. Only the Lightning one is required and it only costs like $3. Snow's one is hardly canon.

Wait a minute how did you beat all 30+ hours games in one day and made a review out of all of them yesterday?Just asking
