Sora & Riku - Hook (1x1 with rikunobodyxiii)

Recommended Posts

Peter Banning sat down next to his son Jack, who was banging his baseball against the ceiling of the passenger plane they were currently riding to Grandma Wendy's house in London.

He had just been shown the drawing Jack had made of their plane bursting into flame by his young daughter Maggie, where everyone had a parachute to escape the wreckage but Peter. Jack was very angry with his father due to Jack promising to come to his baseball game, and not showing up...it was the final game of the season.

"Please stop that, you're gonna break a window." Peter said.

Jack looked at his father incredulously, before banging on the window with the baseball. "They're double layered! Ya can't break 'em!"

Peter grabbed the baseball out of his son's hand, who chuckled. "You're afraid you're going to get sucked out the window!"

"Am not!"

"Yes you are you're afraid you're going. to. get. sucked. out!"

Peter sighed and returned the ball, "I'll come to every game this next year..I give you my word...my word is my bond."

"Yeah a junk bond!" Jack thumped the ball hard against the ceiling, causing a set of masks to come down in front of Peter, who yelped loudly.

Jack snickered about it the rest of the flight..which wasn't very long.

Soon they got their flight over, and were in a snowy London....at Wendy's front door.

"Whoa." Sora said as he looked out at the view from atop Big Ben, down on modern London. "I sure don't remember it looking like this the last time I was here."

Riku, leaning against a wall, also admired the view.

"Well, Master Yen Sid did say that the timeless nature of Never Land could play havoc with its connection to the other worlds." He remained his friend. "And this place seems to be connect to Never Land."

Both the boys thought about the mission they had been given. Yen Sid had said something had happened to Never Land's star, like it was older. The old wizard believe that it had to do with the time flow inside the timeless island, but best to check it out anyway. Besides, Sora had been wanting to see how Peter Pan and Tinker Bell were doing.

"I wonder why we ended up here?" Riku wondered aloud.

Sora shrugged.

"No idea." He said.

He looked up at the sky and squinted.

"We'll have to wait for it to get darker till I can lead us to Never Land."

Riku followed his friend's gaze up, then smirked.

"Goofy told me about this." He said. "You really go with the '2nd star to the right' directions."

"Hey!" Sora objected, though he smiled as he did it. "It works!"

Yen Sid contacted the two boys then, via a thought projection image of himself..somewhat similar to a hologram that floated in front of the two teenagers. "The situation has changed! Your current objective lies down below! At Wendy's house! Though....you might be in for a bit of a uh...shock when you get there. Don't bother asking me any questions! I'll send you to her doorstep now!" Yen Sid waved his hands and suddenly Sora and Riku were standing on a snowy doorstep with a middle aged man wearing glasses and his wife.

And two rambunctious children, one a young boy...the other a young girl...siblings.

"Jack! Maggie! Get over here! They're probably street hustlers of some sort."

Moira rolled her eyes and approached them, much to Peter's displeasure. "You two must be here to see Granny Wendy....I'm sure we'll get along well, I'm Moira, these are my children Jack, and Maggie...and-"

Peter interrupted her by using the knocker on the door, "C'mon everyone! Gotta make our first impression! Street hustlers included! Remember you're in England...land of good manners."

A frail, but crazed old man with wild white hair sticking up on his mostly bald head answered the door. The unnamed (to Riku and Sora) Peter smiled and said "Uncle Toodles!"

But his only response was the man smiling widely, not a tooth in his mouth, and shouting as he looked past them. "ITS SNOWING!" And slamming the door in their faces as if he hadn't saw them.

Jack cracked up so much he choked on his gum.

Sora started to crack up too at Toodles's door answering technique. Riku tried to shush Sora, but had a hard time because he himself was trying to contain laughter.

"Um, excuse us." Riku said, then tried to lead Sora off the stoop.

"Wait, what?" Sora exclaimed.

"We'll come in through another door." The Dark Master whispered, as to not be over heard. "These people are likely here to see Wendy's parents."

"If they are still here." Riku thought, remembering the possible time change.

Unknown to Riku and Sora, Maggie had butted into their conversation..and had listened in and was tugging at Riku and Sora's sleeves to get their attention. "Not her parents! She's Wendy! Jack says that she's the REAL Wendy from the stories! She runs an orphanage, and adopts kids without parents! My dad was adopted by her! She told me last time we were here that a looong time ago my dad was Peter Pan instead of Peter Banning! And he took Wendy and her brothers on adventures to Neverland!" Maggie pointed up at the sky, "Second star to the right..straight on til morning!"

Maggie was just full of energy....a young bubbly girl...who wouldn't stop talking....her father popped an excedrin...and spilled them everywhere as a scream filled the night air as Liza the maid shrieked in happiness at seeing them all.

Liza led them into the house...practically dragged them....talking about how much they'd grown.....Peter tapered off as Moira got excited about the house's atmosphere.

Peter shut the door against the snow, and heard a kindly elderly voice from atop the staircase...a voice that stirred something in him.

"Hello boy."

Peter looked up at the elderly Wendy at the top of the stairs and smiled, "Hello....Wendy."

"Wait, what?" Sora managed to get in before the Banning family went inside the house.

The two Keyblade Wielders stared at the back of Peter's head as the tried to process the possibility that he was their friend Peter Pan.

"You think she was right?" Riku asked.

"I don't know." Sora answered.

He then straightened up.

"But we can ask him."

He started to march up to Peter, but was stopped by Riku.

"Hold it." Riku told Sora. "We were told to meet Wendy, not Peter. And he didn't notice us. Let's just watch to see how this goes."

Sora never really understand his friend's over cautious nature, but maybe it was right for this situation. If that was Peter Pan, which Sora was beginning to doubt, he changed a heck of a lot. No, it was best to just talk to Wendy and then to Never Land. Goodness knew he didn't need another lecture on keeping a low profile on worlds from Master Yen Sid.

With Riku taking the lead, the two friends managed to making it into the house before the door was shut. The tried to stay out of people's way till Wendy appeared. Sora, remembering the young lady in the blue dress, was shocked to see Wendy as she was now.

Wendy wore a green scarf around her neck, her hair was gray with age...and indeed she was old...she walked down the steps very slowly with a cane. She wore a blue jacket and pearls hung from her neck. Moira smiled up at her grandmother as she stood next to Peter, "I told you, gran. I'd get him here..by hook or by crook." she said.

Peter approached Wendy as she reached the bottom of the stairs, "I'm sorry its been so long between visits..."

"Its been ten years between visits, Peter. But never mind that...." She sniffled a bit and a few tears made themselves known in the corners of her eyes as she pulled Peter into a hug.

Moira was next in line for a hug, and then Maggie skipped up to her. "Who is this lovely lady, it can't be Maggie?"

"Yes it can and guess what great-grandma I just played you at school in a play!" Maggie grinned.

"And don't you just look the part!"

She spotted Jack, "Is that Jack? How much you've grown!"

That was when she spotted the silver haired and spiky haired brown haired boys standing in her house. She blinked a few times, as if trying to place their faces, then a sudden realization was evident on her own face. But she kept her demeanor calm, and walked over to them with the assistance of her cane. "If you two would kindly follow me upstairs?" She looked over at Maggie and Jack as well, "Jack and Maggie...you both come as well." She turned back to Sora and Riku, and gave them a smile and a nod of understanding.

"Um...yes, ma'am." Sora managed, still trying to process Wendy being an old woman.

The two Keyblade Wielders shared a look, then followed Wendy as she asked. Sora looked at Maggie as she joined in following Wendy. She had been right about Wendy. Maybe she was right about her dad. Sora stole a glance back at Peter Banning. It was still hard to believe that he could be Pan. How long had it been since they had last met?

Riku, not sure what else to do, quickened his pace to catch up with Wendy.

"Do you, uh, do you need a hand?" He asked.

"No thank you...I'll be fine." Wendy said.

When they reached the top of the stairs Wendy opened a door to reveal a room with pink walls, and a dollhouse on the floor and a window that could be flung open to reveal a balcony to walk out on. There was also a rocking chair, which Wendy readily sat down in. "Jack, Maggie..please be dears and get me a glass of water and my book of stories....I don't feel right sitting in here without that book." She smiled at the children.

When the two youngest of the bunch had ran off to do their assigned tasks, Wendy turned to Sora and Riku. ".....You could give a woman of my age a heart attack, popping in for a visit when I haven't seen either of you since I was a girl. I'm glad to see that you both have become friends again....I do hope you found Kairi as well, Sora."

"Yes, um, ma'am." Sora answered a little hesitantly. "Kairi's doing all right. She was visiting some friends, last time I saw her."

Riku cleared his throat. He didn't want to bring this up, but he felt he had to.

"Sorry about how we last met." He said. "I was a bit...confused then."

Sora glanced at his friend. Though in Sora's mind, Riku had made up for his mistakes, the Dark Master still seemed to carry guilt about his fall to darkness. Part of Sora wondered if Riku could forgive himself for it.

"Um, Wendy?" Sora pipped up as a burning question in his mind popped up again. "That guy down stairs, the father...is that Peter Pan?"

Wendy smiled at Sora, "The formalities are not necessary, Sora. And Riku...I understand, I can tell just by looking at you, you're not the same as the Riku I encountered on Captain Hook's ship."

At Sora's question, she sighed, and leaned back in her rocking chair. "If I tell you.....this should be kept between us three. .....After you left Neverland, Captain Hook returned of course. More vicious than ever, he tried to poison Peter after I elected to go back home to London...along with my two brothers...and some of the Lost Boys. TinkerBell drank it for him.......but she was revived....by children all across the world....who believed in fairies...who heard Peter's anguish and clapped their hands.""We were captured by Captain Hook and his crew then, but we were rescued by Peter....who swore it would be 'Hook or him this time'. He ended up of course being defeated and falling into the jaws of the ticking crocodile that he'd feared all this time. After that Peter took us and some of the Lost Boys back to this house, he returned to Never Never Land...alone."

"I didn't see him again for many years, after I had grown up, and created an orphanage for the Lost Boys, Toodles was my first orphan.  Until I had a daughter...Moira., he seemed drawn to come back to the window he'd first arrived at for us. Neither of them remember it....but he took her to Never Land.....and when they returned, I adopted Peter as an orphan."

"Peter was notoriously forgetful....after the death of Captain Hook he soon forgot him....I mentioned him one day....he didn't remember him.....such is the mind of a child. Neither of them remember Never Never Land....but to answer your question....Peter Banning downstairs..is indeed Peter Pan....and I know for a fact he's lost his will to believe....he's grown up....in every sense of the word.....so don't tell him."

"Whoa." Was Sora's response to Wendy's tale.

It was hard to believe that Peter Pan could forget about all the adventures he had had, with Indians, pirates and pixies. For a moment, Sora worried that he would forget his adventures, but he realized he was growing up in his adventure. And he had Riku and Kairi and King Mickey and so many more that he could depend on to help him remember. That made him think of someone.

"So, where is Tink?" He asked Wendy.

Before Wendy could answer, there was a commotion downstairs.

"WILL EVERYONE JUST SHUT UP! MOIRA GET EM' OUTTA HERE, WILL YA I'M ON THE PHONE CALL OF MY LIFE!"

Wendy moved faster than the two boys thought possible, as she met Moira at the top of the stairs with Maggie near tears and Jack looking wide eyed and shocked.

They overheard Peter and Moira arguing downstairs. "You promised the children some REAL time. How many more promises are you going to break to them?"

They heard a phone ringing, Peter said something about 'fixing it.'

Moira said "You've got to fix your family."

Peter went into the foyer, cell phone about to be answered, when Moira went up from behind him and grabbed it and threw it out an open window into the snow. Peter looked at his hand where the phone had been in shock, and just stared out the window then..into the snow.

"Your children love you, they want to play with you. How long do you think that lasts? Soon Jack may not even want you to come to his games. We have a few special years with our children, when they're the ones that want US around, after that you're going to be running after them for attention.....you're missing it." Moira told him quietly at the bottom of the stairs.

Wendy had by now escorted Maggie and Jack into the nursery and brought out a very special book to read to Maggie while Jack lingered at the open window.

Sora and Riku stayed out of everyone's way, figuring it was the best thing to do. Seeing that Peter and Moira were getting ready to go out, both of the teens were hoping to get some more answers from Wendy, but she too seemed to be getting ready to go.

"So, what do we do?" Sora wondered quietly, as he and Riku stood outside the nursery.

"I don't know." The older teen answered. "We were sent here for a reason, but heck if I understand it."

Riku rubbed the back of his head.

"We can't tell Peter about any of this and who knows what's going on in Never Land itself."

"It's weird that we can't tell Peter." Sora countered. "I'm sure I could get him to remember the adventures we had together."

Riku shook his head.

"If Wendy thinks we shouldn't remind Peter of who he was, then I think we should follow it for now. Peter is sure to have seen us when we came in, but he didn't recognize us. He probably thinks we're orphans."

Sora sighed.

"So we just wait?" He asked.

"Until Wendy has some time to talk to us." The white haired boy answered. "Maybe when she explains more, we'll know what we're suppose to do."

Sora nodded and both Keyblade Wielders peaked around the door to the nursery to watch Wendy, Maggie, and Jack.

Once the children were put to bed, Wendy and Moira put the children to bed, with one last look at the dozing children Wendy sighed and went downstairs.

Toodles was crawling around on the floor near Sora, Riku and Peter. "Lost, lost, lost!" he shook his head as he crawled around on the carpet.

Peter looked over at the elderly man, "What did you lose, Uncle Toodles?"

Toodles looked up, "I've lost my marbles." he said plainly.

Peter looked over at Sora and Riku, "Oookaaay."

Wendy and Moira came down, dressed for Wendy's banquet. Wendy approached Sora and Riku, "Would you mind looking after the children for us?" She noticed Toodles crawling around and said quietly, "As well as Toodles."

Peter looked like he was about to object, Moira looked skeptical, Wendy noticed this and waved a hand. "They are perfectly trustworthy you two! Recently adopted orphans! I'm giving them a place to stay until the paperwork is finished." Wendy lied.

This seemed to appease Peter and Moira who went out to the cab which was waiting for them. Wendy turned to the two teens, "Please..keep them safe...." With that, she was out the door.

Sora and Riku kept up their routeen of staying out of the way as best they could as the adults got ready to go...where ever they were going. From the clothes, it looked pretty fancy. Sora was actually trying to help Toodles find his marbles, so it was Riku who responded to Wendy's request.

"You can count on us." He answered.

The white haired teen looked a little worried when he saw Peter and Moira's expression, but Wendy took care of it. He nodded to himself at Wendy's cover story. That should give him and Sora a couple of days to snoop around, for what ever they were needed here for.

As Peter and Moira headed out for a cab, Riku got Sora up and they both followed Wendy to the door. Sora gave Wendy a reassuring smile.

"That's what we're good at." He said brightly.

As soon as Wendy was gone, Riku looked more pensive.

"I wonder why she asked that?" He murmured.

"Who knows." Sora answered. "This place looks so peaceful, I doubt anything could happen."

Riku gave his spiky haired friend a dirty look.

"What?" Sora asked, catching the look.

"You never say that." Riku replied. "Now, somethings going to happen. Trust me."

Riku sighed.

"I'd better check on the kids."

He stumped upstairs, leaving Sora feeling confused.

Nana barked outside, at something unseen then.

Toodles mimicked her ruffing and barking, but soon traded it for something else...."H-H-.....Hook!" Toodles crawled over to a bottled ship, "Hook! Hook! Hook! Hook! Hook! HOOK!" He repeatedly shouted at the bottled ship, before the windows in front of Toodles shot open like large double doors, and the chandelier began to rattle and jingle and shake around above. Green light filled the room as a mysterious wind filled the whole house, as a crash was heard from the front door and the electricity went dead in the house.

Meanwhile, miles away...Peter and Moira helped Granny Wendy as a similar gust of wind blew through the room....and nearly knocked her over.

In the children's room....a hook shaped lock on the window.....began to lift seemingly by itself.

Sora had gone back to trying to find Toodles's marbles when he witnessed the old man's chanting.

"Hook?" The spiky haired teen repeated. "Do you mean-"

The question went uncompleted as the green light and wind filled the house.

"Uh oh."

Riku, who was on his way back down stairs after he had checked on Jack and Maggie, went still as he felt the wind pick up and see the power go out. Remembering Wendy's words, Riku turned and ran back up stairs and burst into the nursery, to see the hook on the window moving.

Maggie and Jack looked over at the window fearfully, "J-Jack..." Maggie whispered. Just as the window burst open and the covers on the children's beds flew off of them, they screamed as Liza was heard trying to break down the door as it closed on her. "MAGGIE! JACK!" She tried to open it with all her might but it was no good,

The front door downstairs' window was smashed open, and the wallpaper was slashed clear down the hallway past Sora by a sword.

Shadowy figures, not Heartless...but a group of...pirates...swung into the room on ropes and grappling hooks. Riku could see the shadowed image of a flying pirate ship hovering outside of the Darling house.

The force that blew open the windows and the covers off Jack's and Maggie's beds hit Riku, knocking him back into the wall. He groaned as he got up, then saw the ship. He summoned his Keyblade and entered his battle stance.

"Maggie! Jack!' He called, the ran for the window and the ship.

The moment he saw shadowy forms, Sora summoned the Kingdom Key. He rushed out and tried to slash at one of the swinging pirates.

Maggie and Jack were gone by the time Riku reached the window, the green light had seemingly absorbed them into its light with a flash. And Sora and Riku were left slashing at thin air.

All that was left was a dagger embedded note stuck in the nursery door.

The ship had gone, and the children with it.

"Hello?" Peter said as he slowly opened the front door, its window shattered and the lock broken. He tried the lights, they were not working.

Wendy stood behind Peter with Moira, her face horror struck. "My god...the children."

Sora was left a little off balance by the sudden disappearance of the pirates.

"What was that?" He asked.

He heard Peter, Moria, and Wendy returning, so quickly dismissed his Keyblade.

"They came and went in a matter of seconds." Sora called as he ran over to Wendy.

Up in the nursery, Riku gritted his teeth. He wasn't going to let those kids go. He jumped out the window he had seen the ship through, and started bounding from rooftop to rooftop, trying to find the ship again.

Peter rounded on Sora, "WHO!? Who did you let in here!? What did you do to them!? I've heard of punks like you...selling innocent little children on the streets for a hit of this and that! How much did they give you!? A gram!? A dimebag!? I'm a lawyer so you better hope-"

"PETER!" Wendy shouted from the nursery. Her voice shrill with horror.

Peter didn't spare Sora another glance, just as Moira and he ran upstairs to find Wendy staring at the nursery door...just as Riku got back.

A note was stabbed into the door with an enormous dagger.....antique looking...from another time...but strangely shiny and new.

Peter read the note aloud, "Peter, your presence is required at the request of your children. Kindest personal regards. J.A.S. Hook (Captain)...?"

Toodles came into the room at that point and approached Peter. "Have to fly, have to crow...have to fight....have to save Maggie, have to save Jack......Hook is back."

Peter looked into Toodle's eyes, utterly confused..."Who?"

But at that point Wendy went into a dead faint in the hallway and had to be escorted into her bedroom by Liza.

Sora was taken aback by Peter's outburst. He could see a bit of Peter's spirit in the man's reaction, but the words sounded just plan weird. Once Peter was called up stairs, Sora ran after him, to see what happened up stairs. He stopped when he saw the dagger in the door and note.

"Didn't he get eaten by the crocodile?" He murmured to himself as he read the note.

Riku slammed his fist against a cheminy stack when it was clear that he couldn't find the pirate ship again. He had failed to save Maggie and Jack. Now they were in Hook's hand. Gritting his teeth, the Dark Master made his way back across the rooftops back to the nursery window to witness Peter and Sora to get back.

Both Keyblade Wielders listened to Toodles's rhyme and shared a look. Had Master Yen Sid suspected this would happen? They both were shocked out of their question by Wendy fainting. Both boys immediately ran for Wendy and helped her to her room.

The police came and went, they hardly believed anything more than that the children were off running the streets and that the note was some sort of prank.

Peter was called up to Granny Wendy's room with Sora and Riku. The elderly woman had asked Moira to go make some tea....but it was obvious to the two boys that she was merely wanting to be alone with the three.

Wendy took her book of stories into her elderly hands as she lay upright in her bed and turned the pages. "Its time to tell you at last...."

Peter sat there in a chair next to the bed, "Tell me what?"

Wendy looked at Peter, "How far back can you remember, Peter?"

"I remember the hospital on Great Ormond Street, you worked with orphans..you taught me to read. And arranged for the adoption by my American parents, Hank and Jane Banning."

"You were twelve...nearly thirteen! I meant before that!" Wendy interrupted.

"There's nothing before that-"

"Try....please." Wendy pleaded.

Peter looked at her.....honestly trying to remember, but he shook his head.

Wendy sighed, "You know...when I was young....no girl held your favor the way I did. I thought for sure you'd burst in on my wedding day and stop me from being married. But you didn't come."

Peter looked very uncomfortable, "Grandma?"

"Yes...I was a grandma when you came back....a grandma to Moira....and when you saw her asleep in the bed....in the nursery...that was when you decided not to go back to Neverland."

Peter blinked, "Where?"

"To Never-Never Land."

Peter shot up like a rocket and shouted for his wife, "MOIRA!"

Wendy and Peter began bickering then, "I've tried to tell you so many times I KNEW you'd forgotten!"

"I'm not ready to deal with this right now, granny!"

"Peter!" Wendy silenced him with a well placed shout, "The stories...they are TRUE. I swear on everything I adore that they are. And now he's come back to seek his revenge. The fight isn't over for Captain James Hook, he wants you back and he knows you'll follow Maggie and Jack to the ends of the earth and beyond and by heaven you MUST find a way. You've got to make yourself REMEMBER."

Peter looked shaken and quietly asked, "Remember what?"

Wendy took a sharp intake of breath, "Peter my dear, don't you know who you are?"

She turned to a full page illustration of a young boy wearing a green outfit with red hair, just like Peter Banning's hair color, flew alongside a small glowing pixie woman.

Peter sighed and left the room after staring at the page for a long time, "I need a drink." He grumbled.
