In regards too foreign markets, we have been taking a look at it in regards to Yokai Watch. We are in development planning to release it sometime next year. We think it has a big appeal as a very Japanese-ish fantasy story. We already have support from a foreign toy maker company saying that it will be a definite success. -Akihiro Hino

In case you haven't heard of Yokai Watch, thousands have and it's selling like hot cakes in Japan. In fact, Yokai Watch 2 has 2 million units sold in under a month, in Japan alone.  The franchise is only 2 titles in, but it's apparently on par with Pokemon. Many of us have expressed our want for localization and seems to be the plan.

I've been playing it.

It's alright.

I wouldn't consider it on par with Pokemon (well... not Gens 1-4... but that's not to say Gens 5-6 are bad).

 

And I recently went to Japan (today marks 1 month since I've returned).

This, along with a lot of other stuff, was heavily, heavily advertised.

It's really big over there.

 

But I'd be kinda happy if they brought this over here.

It would have been localized anyways.

It's only the biggest franchise in Japan right now.

More than likely. Though, it seems there will be a toy line for the franchise since they've already stated they've worked out something with a foreign toy company.
