How did the light lose before KH1?

Recommended Posts

Just a question to all my fellow forum users.

What triggered the darkness to consume all worlds in KH1?? Was it Master Xehanort?? Ansem?? The hooded figure??

The prophecy states that light will lose to the darkness, is it referring to the events of BBS or KH3?? Or is it just for plot purposes?

What do you all think?

Well, if we're talking directly, it would be because Terra-Xehanort and the other Apprentices continued experimenting with the Darkness until it spiraled out of control. But if we're going longways, the Light could have lost to Darkness even before the Keyblade War itself. The Prophecy says so, after all...

it was in KH X (chi), after the effect of the keyblade war... for more detail you have to wait the end of KHX or the release of KH3.... and most probably was xehanort doing xD the prophecy talk about, like i said the first keyblade war (end of KHX ) and this thing riscking of being repeated on KH3 (like it was in BBS but ven, aqua and terra stop it)

i hope i don't say something confusing and this helped you. ;)

It was referring to the story that Kairi's grandma told, as well as the Keyblade War. Supposedly, both are the same thing. Long ago the worlds used to be bathed in light and everybody loved it, but then some people got greedy and wanted the light for themselves, and darkness became born in their hearts. The darkness became physical in the form of the Heartless, and the darkness even drove other people to do terrible things. Others wanted to defend the light from darkness, others wanted to conquer everyone, others wanted balance, and others didn't want to get involved but got dragged in anyway. The light that everyone was after can be assumed to be Kingdom Hearts, which is guarded by the X-Blade, the Key to the Lock so to speak. In order to meet their goals, everybody created copies of the X-Blade, called Keyblades. They all used these to meet their ends, either by collecting light, destroying the darkness/Heartless, or doing various other things. Eventually all sides came to a final clash which would result in the manifestation of the X-Blade. This clash, whether it manifested the blade and opened Kingdom Hearts or not, resulted in the worlds falling to darkness and the light being nearly extinguished. The lights in the hearts of children however (be they the young wielders or not) was enough to rebuild most of what was lost in that destruction, but as a result all the worlds were separated so that such a conflict could never repeat itself. The X-Blade split into 20 parts, 7 of light and 13 of darkness, and the Seven Princesses of Heart were also brought into existence, which supposedly stabilized the light of the new world, so that it wouldn't fall to darkness again.

With this sort of idea in mind, Kingdom Hearts X is supposed to be depicting the beginning of that sort of struggle, only the Fortellers' have prior knowledge of the destruction that is to occur and are now taking steps to try and avert the catastrophe. Whether that actually worked or not has yet to be seen, but it's probably safe to say that it didn't work and the worlds fell anyway.

However, the prophesy itself could ring true for either X or III, as both depict an oncoming clash between light and darkness, with the probable victory of the darkness being the likely outcome. But it's hard to say by this point, since neither story has made much progress so far. So, to get true answers instead of speculating like I have been, we'll just have to wait and see.
