[official website / Wikipedia]

Gotham is an American crime television series based on characters appearing in and published by DC Comics in their Batman franchise, primarily those of Detective James Gordon and Bruce Wayne. The series stars Ben McKenzie as the young Gordon.

Yesterday I finally had the chance to watch the first two episodes of this show, and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have high expectations and I did find the first episode kind of slow, but by the second I was already interested.

Despite my huge love for the Batman family, I have near to zero interest in Gotham city without them, so I thought having Batman villains appear would end up feeling tacky and uninteresting, but Fish Mooney seems hella cool (she's also gorgeous, which does help) and I like what they're doing with Cobblepot.

Also, is it me or does Ben McKenzie still look the same as he did ten years ago? It's like that guy never ages.

So far it's been interesting. I honestly didn't expect to see a couple of villains already, or to-be-villains in the future to be exact. Although there is already a few.

I look forwards to watching each week and see how it goes.

It seems it's been announced that Hush will make an appearance at some point... I hope they actually mean Thomas Elliot will appear, because if they take Bruce's childhood best friend and age him up too like every other villain that would be kinda cruel, considering how miserable little Bruce is right now.

Oh, so there are other people watching this show. lol

I've seen the past three episodes. When it was first announced, it didn't seem too interesting, considering it was a Batman show without Batman. But after I actually decided to watch it, I saw it for what it was instead of what I probably wanted it to be. Gotham may be the home of Batman but there's so much more going on other than Batman and all the colorful villains and people he interacts with. I actually like how they're handling a lot of these characters in their new forms, like Gordon and Selina Kyle and especially Copplepot. I'd even dare to say that he's already one of my favorite incarnations of the character.

So yeah, so far so good. :)

Yeah, it was more CSI: Gotham in the show premiere, but the plot is beginning to get more beef to it and it's actually getting pretty good. Kinda wish the villain cameos weren't so obvious, but Cobblepot is definitely the spotlight villain of the show, which is okay with me.
