So, Seeing As Disney Has Made ALOT More Than Just 2-D Animated Movies, Why Does It Feel As Though That Is All Everyone REALLY Wants In "Kingdom Hearts 3"?

If You Ask Me, EVERY Disney Movie Has Potential, And I Have Noticed How They All Revolve Around The Same General Themes As Kingdom Hearts -- Live-Action, 3-D Animated, AND 2-D Animated ALIKE!!  They ALL Deserve The Chance -- Even The TV Shows Are Capable In One Way Or Another (i.e., Summons, Cameos, Etc.)!!

Otherwise, There Might Not Be Enough "New/Fresh" Movies To Choose From By The Time We Reach Kingdom Hearts 6 or 7 -- Especially When One Game Is Currently Being Released Per Year!!

So, Why Can't More Live-Action And 3-D Animated Movies Be In "Kingdom Hearts 3"?  How About The Next Saga, Too?

Keep In Mind, Both "Tangled (2010)" AND "Frozen (2013)" Are 3-D Animated, Too!!

Live action is less likely because it clashes with the art style and looks very uncanny valley, just look at Pirates of the Caribbean or Tron/Legacy. Like action also doesn't blend as well with high flying anime battles.

In terms of 3D animated stuff, for a long time Disney didn't have the rights to a lot of what we consider Disney 3D animated cartoons. The oldest really notable cartoon is also Tangled from 2010, which is when Birth by Sleep came out, which also happens to be the last KH game to have a decent number of new worlds

I imagine we'll be seeing a lot more 3D animated stuff as KH goes on

hopefully not more live action though

They don't just use animated movies, they use live-action ones too, like POTC and Tron. I think it's a matter of popularity, and that there's more request for animated flicks to get KH representation than the LA ones. For example, I've never heard of anyone wanting Pete's Dragon in KH, but I've seen lots asking for a Frozen world.

It's true that there are lots of live action films and 3-D animated features from Disney, but the guys at Square aren't going to pick every single one.  They're going to pick the ones that fit best within the look and feel of the Kingdom Hearts Universe.  Sure, there are a lot of recent 3-D animated Disney films that would greatly fit into Kingdom Hearts, but remember that there's still a good amount of Animated Classics that Nomura hasn't tapped into yet, like Treasure Planet, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, The Emperor's New Groove and Pocahontas, to name a few.  I'm sure that at some point Nomura will bring these films to life in the Kingdom Hearts series, but that's up to him to decide.  And although there are a lot of live action films from Disney, the only ones that can make it in are ones that could fit with the Kingdom Hearts Universe. Nomura made Pirates and Tron work, so it all depends on his analysis of what films he considers to turn into worlds.  As for the recent 3-D animated Disney films, I want to see Chicken Little, Meet The Robinsons, Tangled, and Big Hero 6 to be included into the Kingdom Hearts series one day.  I didn't mention Frozen since it seems more than likely that it'll be included in Kingdom Hearts III, which wouldn't surprise me at all.  Now, bring Treasure Planet or Atlantis: The Lost Empire into Kingdom Hearts III, and I think you'll find me knocked out in my bedroom after having a nerdgasm. :3

Lol, I talk too much. xD

There are 53 movies in the Walt Disney Animated Classics (animated canon) and they come out with a new one every year. there are TONS of things they can use before they need to branch out

Dude, try not capitalizing the first letter of every word you type. That should only be done for the first word of every sentence and the names of people, objects, places, etc.

Uh... are you serious? You're wondering why people want 2-D animated films in Kingdom Hearts 3? Disney LITERALLY created the genre, has made the most contributions to its advancement, and is most recognized and associated with its 2-D films. It's not that no one wants the 3-D films, there is just not as many of them as the 2-D ones. I think it would also be a fair statement to say that the average KH fan is more interested in seeing a Pixar film make its debut over the introduction of a 3-D Disney film.Live action is... complicated. Very few could actually work. Not counting the series already used so far (Pirates of the Caribbean, Tron), or the ones that already have 2-D representation (Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent), or the box office bombs (Haunted Mansion, John Carter), what live action stuff would actually be fun to run around in?

Just because it has the Disney label on it, doesn't necessarily mean it's a fit for Kingdom Hearts. Not all movies have that potential. For instance, Homeward Bound is made by Disney, but it wouldn't fit in KH's high-action magical world-saving adventures -- it's a normal setting in a normal world with normal (talking) pets trying to get home. There are plenty of Disney titles, but only so much room to include them in KH. That's why they stick with the most appropriate titles, which is usually the Disney Animated Canon. Movies not part of the Animated Canon, like Tron and Nightmare Before Christmas, are more the exception than the rule.

Heck, even the Animated Canon has movies that probably wouldn't fit. I personally can't see movies like Aristocats or Fox and the Hound in KH (maybe as storybook worlds like 100 Acre Woods, but that's it). So yeah, it's not a matter of whether it has Disney on it. It's a matter of whether it can fit into KH's mythology.

Yeah, no, not every Disney property has potential to be in Kingdom Hearts just by having Disney's name on it. It has to fit in with Kingdom Hearts's mold in some way.

He won't use cable TV shows in his series.
