Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted January 23, 2015 Holy moly... Oh, btw, for anyone who wonders why there are so many iOS games, that market is HUGE in Japan, and Squeenix wanted to jump inside that bandwagon to make quick cash.
Sora96 17,256 Posted January 23, 2015 Holy moly... Oh, btw, for anyone who wonders why there are so many iOS games, that market is HUGE in Japan, and Squeenix wanted to jump inside that bandwagon to make quick cash. And that they do. They're cheap to make, and easy to make. And you can make one billion yen in one month off one.
Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted January 23, 2015 And that they do. They're cheap to make, and easy to make. And you can make one billion yen in one month off one. ONLY if they're good. It's REALLY hard to find good iOS games when they are buried under a bunch of garbage.
Sora96 17,256 Posted January 23, 2015 ONLY if they're good. It's REALLY hard to find good iOS games when they are buried under a bunch of garbage. Most of them have been quite good from Square Enix.
Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted January 23, 2015 Most of them have been quite good from Square Enix. For iOS games, sure. That's not really saying much, though.

Hargleblargleboo 979 Posted January 23, 2015 That's why they're getting ported to Vita. Yup. Gotta make extra cash in between to make bigger and better games for better consoles (and to pay their employees...), and I think that's what it's all about. Ummm, you do know who is in charge of division 9 aka it's first mobile division? Takashi Tokita.

Setrex 1,031 Posted January 23, 2015 Eh. Just gonna be getting Type-0 and Heavansward. Nothing else interests me as it is literally nothing but ports or mobile titles. I'm vaguely interested in Explorers, but not enough to care for it at this point in time.

mgmkidKH 26 Posted January 23, 2015 And where's the FFIX PC port? I'd prefer that rather than FFV or VI to be honest.
hatok 6,413 Posted January 23, 2015 oh boy a million and one ports and some phone games
Sora96 17,256 Posted January 24, 2015 And where's the FFIX PC port? I'd prefer that rather than FFV or VI to be honest. That's up to division 8. The PC ports of V and VI are from division 9. Too bad most of those are only ports.... I like ports and all, but enough is enough. And yet you'll get excited for any PS4 ports. I don't get it... Look at his list of credits. Think Final Fantasy IV. Chrono Trigger. Parasite Eve. List goes on...
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted January 24, 2015 Damn, Square sure has their work cut out for them this year! Let's hope they meet this year with much success!

Sora96 17,256 Posted January 24, 2015 Yeah but what does that mean? That he will make AAA quality mobile games? It just means you've got a very talented person in charge of the first mobile division and it shows in their work.

Sora96 17,256 Posted January 24, 2015 Oh yeah, hoping they will announce it at E3. They've already announced one of their two projects. The other one directed by Toriyama will be announced sometime this year. http://www.jp.square-enix.com/MEVIUSFF/en/index.html

I already dismissed mevius from the start since it's mobile and all. Not because I think the quality won't be good, but because I don't intend to play mobile games, same way I don't intend to play handheld games anytime soon.
