Arkham Knight: Knight's End RP (Sign-Ups & Discussion)

Recommended Posts

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2Wi0XWIdXAFlashing across the world was news of the unthinkable: Batman's death. Dying at the hands of the Arkham Knight after preventing Scarecrow from releasing a lethal Fear Toxin, Batman was mourned by friends and allies. With the Arkham Knight disposing of Scarecrow and taking Gotham for himself, the city is in state of chaos. And where there is chaos, there are opportunities. Some of Batman's allies are regrouping to try to take back Gotham and bring the Arkham Knight to justice. Also, a city in such dire straits is ideal breeding and proving ground for new heroes looking for a cause to champion. But not only the cream rises to the top. Villains, mobsters, thugs, and monsters are also attracted to Gotham's turmoil, looking to take the city for themselves. The Dark Knight has fallen, but his quest remains. Will you take it up? Or see what he fought for destroyed?~*Basics*~We will be playing in an AU version of the Batman Arkham Franchise, departing the games near the end of Batman: Arkham Knight, where you will play a hero or villain fighting for control of Gotham. Both Canon DC characters and personal OC's are available for play.~*Rules*~1: Emerald Sustrai is senior partner on this. What she says goes.2: While characters with powers are acceptable, don't go over board with it. Thugs with guns must still pose some sort of threat. Someone akin to Spider-Man or Aqua-Lad would be acceptable.3: Keep the rp at a PG-13 range.4: No godmodding, for obvious reasons.5: No killing other players's characters without permission from said player.6: Put "We Are The Night" at the end of your character sheet to show you at least skimmed the rules.7: What ever I forgot in the general KH13 RPing rules.8: Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)~*Character Sheet*~Codename:Real Name:Age:Gender:Appearance:Personality:Bio:Powers/Abilities/Weapons:Theme (optional):

(I kinda wanted to test out this character for a while)

Codename: None

Nicknames (just for the hell of it): Lord of luck, the fool, the raven prince
Real Name: Thaddeus Delis
Age: 20
Gender: male
Appearance:Posted Image
Personality: Thaddeus is a natural born gambler and risk taker he loves to rush into things recklessly and sometimes even make it look like he's planing to kamikaze. He is a talker perhaps overly so as he spins off everything. he has authority problems seeing it best to violate any and all laws that wouldn't result in casualties. When faced with an opponent however he is cold and heartless. He also makes it a tenancy to spoil the atmosphere of any dark and brooding heroes for the hell of it. He doesn't think himself a hero but he does stuff similarly. Apart from that he is lazy and often shirks any sort of work. But when "shit hits the fan" his regular reaction is:

"I'm a farm boy, gambler and an overall crazy bastard. But i'm still taking charge here."
Bio: Being a country boy he was always a black sheep in the big city. He moved there after the family had been forced to divide and he was left with little ... anything. He left for Gotham where he sought a new life. First he made money in gambling where one of his traits made itself apparent: His incredible luck. Using the money gained he lived a life of debauchery. As time passed he grew bored of it and began hoping that his luck would run dry soon... It didn't. . He found an old bladed spear at a pawnshop and thought he might be able to resell it once he patched it up. That day as he left for the apartment he had rented a band of thugs tried to mug him. using the weapon he killed all of them but within that also found a sense of thrill. He'd spend nights chasing after such people and even came across the dark knight once (Altho to his luck he didn't see him). He had his share of troubles and near death situations and on account of that one trait remained uncaught and unnoticed. But now seeing as he might achieve fame and glory with his hobby he decided to go for it and became a self proclaimed hero.
Powers/Abilities/Weapons:A long bladed spear (shown in picture). Don't know whether it counts but he has superhuman luck.

Character is acceptable, but before I fully accept you, I'd really like for you to PM me and riku with some additional details on your character, mainly what his motive and some of his plan is, just so we can make things more fun and interesting for everyone.

~Character Sheet~

Codename: Dusk Knight
Real Name: Jerry Dalton
Age: 27
Gender: Male

Appearance: Using whatever materials and tech he could find and/or create that were effective, Jerry made a armoured bodysuit that covers him neck to toe, in a similar design to Nightwing, with a few elements from Red Hood and Batman himself. The Dusksuit, as he calls it, is tight-fitting, armoured in all the right places like chest, shoulders, hands, arms, legs etc and is black with a few grey highlights, yet a bit more glossy, like Dick Grayson's suit. It is also quite technological, with him having a small computer device on his right arm, the Gauntlet Computer, which is more advanced than the rest of his suit being almost exactly like Batman's one that he used before his death. The Gauntlets also have the same three bladed fins on the exterior facing outward like the Batsuits. Emblazoned on his back is a grey Bat Symbol, paying homage to the Fallen Dark Knight and wishing to live up to his great name, but is coloured differently and on his back because he knows he is not worthy yet. As such, he does not don a full Cowl like the Bat, He instead has a hood attached to his suit and wears a High-Tech Facemask like Red Hood would, but it is Blue in colouration and has a Heads-Up Display along with shifting tones and visuals. Around his waist is a Utility Belt housing many gadgets inspired by the Caped Crusader.

Personality: Focused, determined, filled with anger, good sense of humour, sarcastic, literal-minded at times, intelligent and noble.

Bio: Jerry was born to a very wealthy family, with their own company and his childhood was otherwise uneventful, but since his teen years, when the Batman was first seen on Live Television before the Blackgate Incident, Jerry idolized him, even when some parts of the Media demonized him and the GCPD disapproved of him at first, he was inspired when Vicki Vale reported on The Batman as he was fighting thugs atop a rooftop before entering the Royal Hotel. He wanted to be like him, regardless of the dangers, he knew someone had to stand up for Gotham alongside Batman, because while great, he was one man. He was allowed to experiment by his Parents but they were too concerned to allow him to actually go and fight crime, but he was still granted quite the leeway and this allowed him to train his body and mind along with making his Suit. During the events of Arkham City however, tragedy struck: His parents were sent to Arkham City like Bruce Wayne and others because they opposed Arkham City and its methods, then during the implementation of Protocol 10, as well as some Goons and Thugs being hurt or killed, they were gunned down by TYGER Forces in a firefight, leaving him an Orphan but with the Inheritance of his Parents Company: Dalton Enterprises. These resources given to him and this recent tragedy pushed his plans forward massively, allowing his Suit to be completed and his Gadgets to begin development, while he appointed a good friend in the company as the new CEO who knew of what he was to do and would help him keep it all undercover, with the help of the Family Butler, who was not all that different from Alfred. Soon enough, during the Arkham Knight Comics, the Dusk Knight was born and he took to the streets, causing problems for branches of Penguin's forces and Harley Quinn's Gang of Criminals formerly ran by the now deceased Joker, but they chose to ignore him, thinking of him as a cheap pretender for the Dark Knight, who was the more immediate threat, so it wasn't hard to see what they were actually thinking of him. When the Batman died to the Arkham Knight, stopping Scarecrow's plans, he was further inspired by the now Martyred Dark Knight, emblazoning the Bat Symbol upon the back of his Suit to honour him properly and has now decided to make his mark and make the Dusk Knight known to all criminals of Gotham City.

Powers/Abilities/Weapons:

  • Trained to Mental and Physical Peak.
  • Interrogation.
  • Genius Intellect.
  • Photographic Memory.
  • Various Gadgets and Weaponry based on the Dark Knight's Arsenal.
  • Uses a Secondary Batcave in Gotham that Batman left behind as a base as the one near Wayne Manor wouldn't be smart.
  • Martial Arts Mastery.
  • Working on a Automated Vehicle and Jet Plane, but they're not ready as of yet.
  • Nigh-Indomitable Willpower.
  • Criminology/Psychology Expertise.
  • Fear Inspiration.

Theme (optional):

~*Character Sheet*~

Codename: The Arkham Knight

Real Name: {REDACTED]

Age: Unknown

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Posted Image

Personality: Patient, calculating, highly emotionally unstable, psychopathic, cold and cunning.

Bio: The Arkham Knight is a total mystery, aside from his alias, his Suit and his actions. He had a strong, seething hatred for The Dark Knight with reasoning that none know other than some form of vengeance...spawning from unmatched, bitter hatred and anger caused by some kind of traumatic event related to Batman. It was theorized by some of his Militia that he showed Batman who he was before killing him, but these sources remain unconfirmed so are ignored. Nothing about his past life is known up until his assault on Gotham City and his Crusade against Batman, where even after Scarecrow's plan had failed, he did not stop and he did not relent and managed to succeed in his killing of Batman, which disappointed Scarecrow, who wanted the Dark Knight to suffer and be broken, as to not Martyr him, but he was too late to stop the Knight.

Even though he had completed his vengeance, the Arkham Knight still had plans for Gotham, especially with the new Heroes and Criminals rising up in the wake of Batman's death, the Heroes wishing to honour him while the Criminals wish to take advantage of the City now that he was gone, without a contingency plan, but not the Arkham Knight. He always has another plan.

Powers/Abilities/Weapons:

  • Similar physical and mental strength to Batman.
  • Tactical expertise.
  • Interrogation.
  • Voice Modulator disguises his voice.
  • Acrobatic prowess.
  • Expert Marksmanship.
  • Similar array of Gadgets to Batman, but some are more lethal.
  • Personal Handgun, Dual-Heavy Pistols that combine into a Sniper rifle and Back-up Pistols.
  • Heads-Up Display in Helmet, more advanced than Batman's Cowl.
  • Good negotiation skills, able to rally Supercriminals and more men to his cause.
  • Commander-in-chief of his Militia, alongside several other Commanders, Lieutenants and Captains.

~*Character Sheet*~

Codename: Deathstroke
Real Name: Slade Wilson
Age: 45 (Stopped aging, looks older)
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Posted Image

Personality: Relentless, arrogant, boastful, honourable, focused and sadistic.
Bio: Slade was once a Soldier of the U.S Army, devoted and willing to do anything for them, he allowed himself to be tested upon with an Experimental Super-Soldier Serum, which while it gave him Enhanced Strength, Speed, Intelligence and Healing Factor, failed overall and at some point was discharged from the Military and became a Mercenary and Professional Assassin. After many kills and fights on his record, he met the Batman in person at least twice during the Blackgate Incident and prior, engaging in a intense battle with the Dark Knight and was surprisingly defeated and not killed, as Batman did not kill, then was knocked unconscious only to awake in Blackgate Prison during the Riots and was the only Inmate not to be released, even having Batman walk past him unharmed, telling him he wasn't paid to kill him now, so he'll let him slide 'till next time they meet and when he is hired to kill him once more.

Several more encounters later, to the Arkham Knight Incident, Deathstroke was recruited by Scarecrow and The Arkham Knight to act as a Backup Commander for the Militia in case the Arkham Knight went off the radar, which for a while he did and he used it and his own tank to his advantage in trying to take down Batman, but once more failed and was taken down again. During the ride to GCPD Lockup, Slade proclaimed that he had earned his respect and the next time they fight, it would be Free of Charge and to the death for sure, even clarifying it in his shared cell with everyone else. However, Slade never got the satisfaction, as the Knight emerged from hiding and killed Batman before Deathstroke could escape or be released. Bitter and disappointed, Slade sat quietly in his cell for a while, going as far as to not interact with the other inmates for that while as he took a while to think to himself....

Then, he heard news of new Heroes rising up to honour the Batman and as if Fate were at hand, Deathstroke decided they should be his new worthy opponents, to test them in combat and return to his Assassin Duties. Organizing a large breakout, he and the rest of the Rogues Gallery escaped GCPD and were able to roam free once more, allowing Slade his chance to see if the new Heirs to the Cowl are worthy enough.

Powers/Abilities/Weapons:

  • Enhanced Strength, Agility and Intelligence.
  • Healing Factor, along with Aging and Disease having no effect on him.
  • Uses Lethal Force.
  • Has quite a few gadgets, all harmful and more damaging than Batman.
  • Fully clad in Body Armour that does not hamper his mobility.
  • Extendable Ballistic Bo Staff, that has multiple functions.
  • Twin Ninjato Swords.
  • Desert Eagle Mk. XIX
  • Expert in all forms of escape artistry.
  • Missing his Right Eye.

Codename: Bane

Real Name: Unknown

Age: Late 30's

Gender: Male

Appearance: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/arkhamcity/images/b/b9/Bane_%281%29.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140314161457

Personality: Calculating, brutal, brilliant, intimidating, patient, and determined.

Bio: After the Arkham City Incident, Bane realized his dependence on Venom and, later, Titan, was a weakness he could no longer abide. Going through painful withdrawal, he broke his addiction to the drugs, and began working on repairing the damage done to his body by the drugs. He spent some of his time recovering in his home country, where he devoted himself to destroying those who created and sold Venom, as well as destroying the prison where he grew up. After learning that Batman had died, Bane felt oddly disappointed. He had hoped a feeling of relief with the death of the Dark Knight, but he felt nothing. Determined to destroy what Batman had fought for and take Gotham for himself, Bane returned to Gotham with a small force of mercenaries to carve out his place at the top of Gotham's underworld.

Powers/Abilities/Weapons: Above average strength and durability. Genius level intellect with training in main fields. Skilled with hand to hand combat, and all weapons. Carries a combat knife and a desert eagle hand gun with him at all times.

Question!Would Jonathan cont as a clean up crew should a hero ... You know make absolutely positively certain the bad guy doesn't try anything again?(In other words play butcher.)

Could be. Though we'll have to progress a little into the story before actual trails would be held for anybody, even those already in jail.

Gonna work on a character. Anything wrong with never having played/watched playthrough of the game? I have some general DC knowledge. That enough to pass?

Should be. Depending on your character, we might have to alter details for the Arkham Timeline, but it shouldn't be too drastic, if applicable at all. Edited by rikunobodyxiii

Jonathan is a man who believes in the idea of reforming criminals and psychopaths but if worst comes to worst, he will put his foot down making sure that they stay locked up.

You know playing butcher means cutting off heads, killing, torture etc.

(Not meaning i'd imply torture (unless situation calls for it))

Considering the source material (Arkham Knight being an 18 and oh my god Scarecrow's face uggh) that's not out of place. xP

Codename: Dealer

Real Name: Ted Tinkerman

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Posted Image

Personality: Calm, cool, collected, and calculating. Usually. Highly arrogant and occasionally bratty.

Bio: Boy genius and prodigious mischief maker. His expansive mind allowed him to even perform beyond impossible intellect and accomplish small feats of telekinesis. Lowkey poltergeist, and tinkering extraordinaire, Ted caused enough trouble in his suburban living areas to land him a spot in Arkham. Being a dog eat dog world, he decided to play the part of the crafty fox, laying low amidst the power struggles, building his signature weapons to later make a name for himself.

Powers/Abilities: Vastly superior intellect and minor telekinesis. Nothing too major. Just making a box fall here and there. Though there is his cards...

Weapons: A small deck of mechanical cards made from the scrap he’s collected off the streets of Arkham. Highly susceptible to his telekinesis, Dealer can manipulate the cards much more dynamically. They come in three types: bladed, charged (for electrical shocks), and for emergencies: explosive.

Code name: Nightwing

Real Name: Dick Grayson

Age: 20 (I'm not completely certain how old he was in Arkham Knight, but you get the point)

Gender:Male

Appearance:

Posted Image

Personality: Nightwing has grown even closer to his friends after Batman's death. It had kind of shocked him through and through, brought him to his senses. Though he still acts arrogant and likes to engage in banter with the enemies he encounters, he doesn't engage in as many dangerous suicide missions as he did. He's a bit more serious and quieter. The old Nightwing is gone, but this new one isn't half bad either. Though he was nearly convinced to take up Batman's cowl, he decided that it was better that he didn't, though the reason may be less logical, and more emotional in origins.

Bio: The original Robin, Dick Grayson has been training under Bruce Wayne for crime fighting and detective work since his parents untimely death during their act. Even under the exposure to trauma involved with this kind of life, Dick Grayson thrived. He loved it, found it thrilling. As a rebellious teenager, he of course became kind of arrogant, even to his master Batman. It was during this time, that Dick left his care, becoming a solo act as Nightwing. He and Batman made up soon after, but he retained his new independence, protecting Bludhaven well. During the events that led up to Bruce's death, he was in the city, but had been strictly assigned to dealing with Penguin. He constantly tried to get Bruce to ask for help, but being Batman, he always refused. It is because of these encounters that Nightwing partly blames himself for Bruce Wayne's death. But now, he is working to make sure that everything Batman fought and lived for becomes true. Nightwing is out for vengeance, and the Arkham Knight will pay. Bludhaven will be fine for a bit, right now, Gotham needs all the help it can get.

Abilities: Nearly superhuman speed, strength, and skill, Nightwing is a nightmare in combat. He whirls around, using his acrobatic training and athletic body to every advantage, always able to thrash any group of thugs in a brawl. His martial arts training is extensive, and he is a master of as many disciplines as Batman was, but chose to be less about counters than Batman was, preferring a purely offensive style. He is also an excellent detective and has an intelligent mind, which he tends to use to hack computers frequently and with skill.

Weapons: A pair of escrima sticks, that can combine at the handles to form a lengthy Bo staff. The sticks can also create electricity, allowing him to shoot lightning, taze opponents, and empower or disable some machinery. He also utilizes throwing stars named wing-dings (I think). A utility belt also holds several other small gadgets useful for taking down enemies, like smoke pellets and glue grenades. On his left bracer a holographic computer can appear, allowing him to search databases and hack computers on the fly.

More characters soon(duh, I'm Yuffie after all)
