Weird how i'm looking forward to agrabah now

Posted
It's funny because i never really cared much about agrabah or the possibility of it returning but seeing how much they improved with Hercules i'm actually excited in seeing how much they could improve agrabah, the sultan and the palace is long overdue anyway just like mount olympus was for Hercules.

That and there's no other desert world substitute they could use..well that i know of.

The possibility of getting a agrabah that's pretty much as close to size ratio to the movie sounds pretty amazing and seeing how the last trailer introduced world hazards i could see them adding stuff like quicksand or massive sandstorms hazards you'll have to avoid.

Does anyone else feel the same, like you never cared much about agrabah but realized how much they could improve it and ya kinda all for it now.Especially since this was one of those worlds people just grew tired of.

The King of Thieves has enough to differentiate it from its predecessors. Agrabah will return with a new facelift.

Agrabah will definitely return.

I actually really hope it does return, because The King of Thieves is a nice bit of plot.

yea it'd be nice if the returning worlds let us explore areas that were only hinted at in previous games. Mount Olympus for Olympus Coliseum, The Palace for Agrabah, etc, etc.

We got also Prince of Persia hands down :).

Disney only made the movie, they don't own any rights to PoP

That's all I want. KHI's Agrabah was underwhelming and KHII LOOKED like it could have been cool if there was more to do in it and we were allowed to explore. However, due to the technical limitations, they were never able to do much with it. But Return of Jafar was basically Aladdin all over again for KHII so I think going the King of Thieves route to match a completely remade Agrabah would be amazing.

That's why I'm okay with seeing Agrabah, or really any old Disney world back again. Because it'd be completely new even if we've been there before.

Yeah, Agrabah will probably return, as a lot of people are saying that if it comes back, it'll follow the plot of King Of Thieves, since Kingdom Hearts II followed Revenge Of Jafar's plot!  I'm actually curious to see Aladdin's dad, and we haven't seen the Sultan, or Princess Jasmine's pet tiger, either!  I'm betting that if Agrabah returns, it'll be quite interesting! :)

Exactly, the only other returning worlds that I can honestly see that isn't associated with the Princess of Hearts is Haloween Town and Winnie the Pooh as they're series staples (and even Winnie the Pooh has a 2011 movie to be based off). After seeing Mount Olympus, I'm positive that Kingdom Hearts III will make the old worlds just as "new" as the new ones.

Can you screenshot the area where it shows who owns the IP? All i see was that the movie was produced and distributed by Disney so it still seems Ubisoft owns the rights to the games.

You see it on the trivia:

Screenwriter Robin Morningstar approached the property owner Jordan Mechner with a script based on the original 1989 game of the franchise, the aim being working as a team to get a film made. He and his materials were abruptly exorcised before Disney bought the film rights to the series.

Film rights, they can make as many movies as they want but they can never use the IP in games, TV, or any other format except through films. Ubisoft owns the rights to anything gaming related even though they haven't used the IP in a while

I think since they own the film rights they can do whatever they want with the movie.
