In this post, I will make a complete list of every single currently unanswered question in the Kingdom Hearts series and universe. Please comment down below all unanswered questions / "plot holes" you can think of and I will add them to this list. Hopefully we can fill it out together and create a truly complete list.

Hopefully they answer most if not all of these in Kingdom Hearts III or any future interviews.

Complete List of Unanswered Questions

  • Why are there globes and maps of Earth and real world locations in some worlds? Are some worlds just alternate reality-type Earths that exist simultaneously but separately? Or did all the worlds used to be Earth when they were all together in one massive World in the Age of Fairy Tales, and the globes and maps are just artifacts of history?

  • In the first Kingdom Hearts, how did Mickey know about Sora and Riku, and how did he know that they got a Keyblade? Yen Sid has the ability to sort of sense things and people in other realms and worlds, so did Yen Sid tell Mickey about them?

  • In the first Kingdom Hearts, why does Winnie the Pooh's letter to Rabbit have "Mickey Mouse" written on the front with a crown symbol? Also, if you come back later, it'll instead be a letter from Roo. This letter also has "Mickey Mouse" written on the front with a crown symbol. Why is that?

  • In the first Kingdom HeartsGenie says he's heard about a Keyhole before 200 years ago, and implies that he used to know its location. Why does he know about the Keyhole and how did he know its location?

  • Some residents of Halloween Town, such as Jack, The Mayor, Dr. Finkelstein, etc. all know about the Heartless because Jack found a book about the Heartless. Who wrote this book full of research notes?

  • Why didn't Maleficent getting stabbed with the Keyblade of Heart cause her to turn into a Heartless? Why did she turn into her Dragon form instead? The Keyblade of Heart has the ability to "unlock people's hearts," which sounds like the same thing that any Keyblade can do if you're on the level of a Keyblade Master, so it can be assumed that the unique ability of the Keyblade of Heart is that it allows you to do that without being on the level of a Keyblade Master. But, is it possible that "unlocking people's hearts" is actually different? Could "unlocking people's hearts" mean something different for each person who gets stabbed by it? Such as Sora turning into a Heartless, and Maleficent turning into her Dragon form? Or is it that Maleficent is just different than most people and follows different laws of nature?

  • In the first Kingdom Hearts, Xehanort's Heartless possessed Riku, which sort of kicked Riku's heart out of his body and sent it to the Realm of Darkness. Why didn't this create a Heartless and a Nobody? Was it because the heart wasn't either extracted by a Keyblade or succumb to the darkness? Does this mean it's possible somehow for a heart to leave a body without becoming a Heartless?

  • When a Heartless is destroyed by a Keyblade, whether it be an Emblem Heartless or a Pureblood Heartless, a heart is released from it and the original person is recompleted. (For the Pureblood Heartless, the heart isn't visibly released, but it's still released.) If someone has a Nobody too, you have to destroy that as well in order to get their original self to be recompleted. If a Heartless is destroyed by something other than a Keyblade, then the released heart will end up just eventually turning back into a Heartless. So, when Ansem, Seeker of Darkness was destroyed by the light from his artificial Kingdom Hearts (and Xemnas was destroyed later), why did Xehanort get recompleted? He shouldn't have gotten recompleted since his Heartless wasn't destroyed by a Keyblade, it was destroyed by the light from his artificial Kingdom Hearts. Does getting destroyed by Kingdom Hearts count as getting destroyed by a Keyblade for some reason, or have the same effect as getting destroyed by a Keyblade or something?

  • What was written on the letter that Pluto was holding at the end of the first Kingdom Hearts and in the beginning of Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories? It's obviously not the same one from the end of Kingdom Hearts II since Mickey wrote that at the end of Kingdom Hearts coded.

  • At the end of the first Kingdom Hearts, how did Donald and Goofy's clothes change when they got to the grassy area outside of Castle Oblivion? Also, how did their clothes change while they are in Castle Oblivion in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories back to the clothes they had on before?

  • In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, when referring to Maleficent, Vexen says "Don't be absurd. The witch is gone. She cannot return from the Realm of Darkness of her own volition." This means that after Sora destroyed Maleficent in the first Kingdom Hearts, she got sent to the Realm of Darkness. Why is this? Why did Maleficent get sent to the Realm of Darkness instead of just simply dying? Or did she just simply escape after the battle with Sora to the Realm of Darkness using a Corridor of Darkness? Also, why did she have to wait for someone (the three fairies) to remember her in order to come back when she could've just used a Corridor of Darkness to get out? Why can she not escape of her own volition? When Ansem the Wise was banished to the Realm of Darkness by Apprentice Xehanort, he was able to use Corridors of Darkness to get out, so why couldn't Maleficent have done that?

  • Why did Marluxia and Larxene want to overthrow Organization XIII?

  • In Secret Ansem's Report 12, it says "First I shall convert all of Twilight Town into data and construct a "world duplicate" in Sora's memories. I shall place Roxas within that world to live out his days and regain those memories." If the simulated Twilight Town that Roxas was placed into is located inside of Sora's memories, then how was Sora able to go inside of the simulated Twilight Town by accessing the machine in the basement of the Old Mansion in Twilight Town near the end of Kingdom Hearts II? Is there multiple copies of the simulated Twilight Town, and just one of them is located inside Sora's memories? Or were Sora's memories just hooked up to the simulated Twilight Town before or something? Or is the machine in the basement of the Old Mansion just simply able to access Sora's memories and by going into the simulated Twilight Town, Sora was within his own memories?

  • Why did the guards in Land of Dragons turn into Emblem Heartless (Nightwalkers)? If they were succumbing to the darkness, then they should've turned into Pureblood Heartless. Were they just Nightwalkers disguised as guards or something?

  • How did the Ghosts of Scar form together to create an Emblem Heartless (Groundshaker)? Shouldn't they have created a Pureblood Heartless if anything? Did they just form together with a Living Bone and Shaman Heartless or something?

  • How did Stitch get to Hollow Bastion?

  • Why did Axel and Saïx want to find the Chamber of Waking?

  • Why did Axel and Saïx want to overthrow Organization XIII?

  • How did Saïx get his scar?

  • What are the names and identities of Larxene, Demyx, and Luxord's original human forms?

  • Why hasn't Xemnas wielded a Keyblade? (Assuming he has the ability to). If he doesn't have the ability to wield a Keyblade, then why?

  • How did Ansem the Wise's machine exploding turn Riku back to normal and how did it transport Ansem the Wise to the Realm of Darkness?

  • Why did Naminé return to Kairi, when she's made out of Sora's body and soul? Shouldn't she have returned to Sora instead? Did she have some of Kairi's memories that needed to return to her, the same way Roxas had some of Sora's memories that needed to return to him? If not, then why did Naminé even need to return to anybody?

  • Why does Apprentice Xehanort have brown eyes instead of yellow?

  • Why does Xemnas and Ansem, Seeker of Darkness have orange eyes instead of yellow?

  • Why does Riku not have yellow eyes in the first Kingdom Hearts when Ansem, Seeker of Darkness is possessing him?

  • How did Sora and Riku get from the place where they fought the final fight against Xemnas in Kingdom Hearts II to the Dark Margin in the Realm of Darkness?

  • How did Kairi's message in a bottle end up at the Dark Margin?

  • "End of Sea" is the name of a world that's half in the Realm of Darkness and half in the Realm Between. Dark Margin is a location at the very tip of this world. It's on the Realm of Darkness half of the world. The ocean that we see there acts as a border between the Realm of Darkness and the Realm Between. How are there worlds in the Realm of Darkness still? They should've all returned to the Realm of Light after Sora sealed the Door to Darkness and Ansem, Seeker of Darkness' artificial Kingdom Hearts broke apart. Does this mean there are worlds native to the Realm of Darkness that have always never had a heart? Or is End of Sea just a world from the Realm Between that's so close to the edge of the Realm Between that it's also touching the Realm of Darkness? Also, how is there a world that's half in one realm and half in another realm in the first place when the realms aren't physically connected?

  • How did Mickey's message in a bottle get to Sora on Destiny Islands?

  • Tetsuya Nomura has stated that Ventus' heart stayed within Sora's body AKA his Nobody, Roxas when Sora was separated from his body and soul and became a Heartless. What is the reason for this? Why didn't it get released along with the other hearts?

  • How did Ventus become so tiny when he went to Castle of Dreams? Tetsuya Nomura said it was because he somehow messed up traveling to the world and ended up tiny, but how does that even happen? How does you not knowing how to properly travel to worlds make you end up very small? I assume that we just simply don't completely know how physics and stuff works in the Kingdom Hearts universe, but it'd be nice to get a specific answer to this question.

  • How is the ship in Deep Space able to access the Lanes Between without a Keyblade or Corridors of Darkness? Or does this mean that somebody aboard the ship has a Keyblade or the ability to use Corridors of Darkness?

  • Where did Vanitas obtain his Keyblade? He can wield a Keyblade because his heart is half of Ventus' heart, but where did he obtain his Keyblade, Void Gear? Did Xehanort Bequeath him? Or does he wield Wayward Wind, except with a Void Gear Keychain on it?

  • If the Unversed are created by Vanitas and come from Vanitas, then how was Lady Tremaine able to turn the coach into an Unversed and how was The Queen able to turn the Spirit of the Magic Mirror into an Unversed?

  • Why did Lea and Isa go into Ansem the Wise's castle in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and why did they get kicked out?

  • How did Ventus and Aqua end up in the Lanes Between after their battles at the Keyblade Graveyard?

  • How did Terra-Xehanort end up at Radiant Garden after the explosion from the χ-blade?

  • Did Terra-Xehanort/Apprentice Xehanort actually have amnesia or was he just faking it?

  • When Terra-Xehanort split himself up into a Heartless and a Nobody, why weren't two Nobodies created? When Sora became a Heartless, his own heart and Kairi's heart released from his body. This created Roxas and Naminé. When Terra-Xehanort became a Heartless, the same thing should've happened. Terra's heart and Xehanort's heart were released from Terra's body. This should've created a Terra Nobody and a Xehanort Nobody, but instead, Xemnas was created; someone who is a mixture of both Terra and Xehanort. Why?

  • How did Young Xehanort leave Destiny Islands and get to Land of Departure?

  • When we see Young Xehanort in the past on Destiny Islands and in the present-day during Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, he doesn't have pointy ears like he does when he's older. Why is this? And when we see Young Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts III, he does have pointy ears. Why is that?

  • Why does Xehanort's Keyblade Armor have the Nobody emblem on it?

  • How did Riku obtain his second Keyblade (Way to the Dawn) after Sora took his first one (Kingdom Key)? Getting Bequeathed causes a Keyblade to choose you, so when Sora took his Keyblade, did another Keyblade choose him? Is that what happens if you lose your Keyblade somehow? Another one will choose you?

  • The Master of Masters forged and tempered Keyblades by pulling them out of the depths of hearts. And ever since then, if you are Bequeathed, a Keyblade will choose you. If all Keyblades already exist somewhere out there and were created long ago, then how come some people's Keyblades resemble them or their character/personality? For example, Lea's Keyblade resembles one of his Eternal Flames Chakrams with fire coming out of it and Riku's Keyblade resembles his Soul Eater sword. Is this just simply because these people are destined to wield these Keyblades or something?

  • Where did Riku get the Keyblade he gave to Kairi (Destiny's Embrace)? And why did he even have to give her a Keyblade in the first place since one should've already chosen her since she was Bequeathed? Doesn't this mean she has two Keyblades now: the one that chose her from her being Bequeathed and the one Riku gave her, Destiny's Embrace?

  • Who Bequeathed Lea?

  • What's the name of Lea's Keyblade?

  • Why does the Kingdom Key look exactly like the two blades that are a part of the χ-blade?

  • It was stated that the pieces of light of the χ-blade were split into seven pieces to protect the number of pure hearts in the world. This is referring to the Seven Princesses of Heart. The Seven Princesses of Heart didn't exist way back in the Age of Fairy Tales though, so how did the χ-blade know that they were going to be born in the future? And in what way are the seven pieces of light protecting the Seven Princesses of Heart?

  • While Aqua was carrying Ventus' comatose body, his Keyblade raised and opened a door that led them to the Land of Departure. This door was not a method of travel that we've ever seen or heard about before. It wasn't one of the portals they've been opening with their Keyblades, it wasn't a Gate, and it wasn't a Corridor of Darkness. It looked pretty much exactly like the Door to Light from the end of Kingdom Hearts II. So, what was this door? Was it the Door to Light? And how was Ventus able to open it?

  • At the end of the first Kingdom Hearts, Sora, and Donald, and Goofy were standing on a piece of land at End of the World. End of the World was a world located in the Realm of Light that's made up of chunks of worlds that fell to darkness. When a world is falling to darkness/falling to the Realm of Darkness, some chunks of the world might stay behind in the Realm of Light. These chunks formed together to create End of the World. Once Sora and Mickey sealed the Door to Darkness, Ansem, Seeker of Darkness' artificial Kingdom Hearts broke apart and the hearts returned to the worlds, and they were restored. They left the Realm of Darkness and went back to the Realm of Light. The chunks that made up End of the World also went back to the Realm of Light. The chunk of land that Sora, Donald, and Goofy were on was a part of the Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion world. So, when the worlds were restored, they got sent to the recompleted Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion world since they were standing on that chunk of land. But, this means that the Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion world fell to darkness sometime in the past. So, what happened to Ventus' body when this happened? Was it also sent to the Realm of Darkness with the world, and was safe from the darkness/Heartless, because he was in the Chamber of Waking? And does this mean that his body was sent back to the Realm Between with the world when it was restored?

  • Why did Mickey not recognize the name "Xehanort" when he met Apprentice Xehanort? Is that just a common name in the Kingdom Hearts universe?

  • What exactly is a "mind?" And how is it different from the "soul?" Is it even different from the soul or are they the same thing?

  • Braig says he has his hands full with his own plans. What are these plans?

  • In the Kingdom Hearts Re:coded "Destiny" secret ending, we see the Organization XIII members who were residents of Radiant Garden lying on the floor after being recompleted as complete people again. We also see Braig, who is not lying on the floor like the rest of them. He presumably woke up before them. (We know this Kingdom Hearts Re:coded secret ending takes place after Kingdom Hearts Re:coded and before Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance because Ienzo is an adult in this cutscene. There is a cutscene at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance that shows Even and Ienzo on the floor turning into Heartless/Nobodies and Ienzo is a little kid in that cutscene, so we know the Kingdom Hearts Re:coded "Destiny" secret ending takes place after Kingdom Hearts Re:coded because we know Ienzo grew up as an adult while he was a Nobody.) In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, we see Xigbar. It is thought that this is actually Braig, not Xigbar and he's just going by the name "Xigbar" for some reason (most likely because of the Recusant's Sigil in that name). If this is the same recompleted Braig that we saw in the Kingdom Hearts Re:coded "Destiny" secret ending, then how come he has long hair again and how come he has gray in his hair again? It would not make sense for him to just all of a sudden change appearance and grow hair that quickly. Is this actually Xigbar and not Braig? If it's Xigbar, then that can either mean that he was brought to the present day from time travel, or that can mean that Young Xehanort turned the recompleted Braig back into a Nobody for some reason (maybe to be a more suitable vessel?). And is this the same case for Saïx? Was he turned back into a Nobody or was he brought back using time travel? Or it's possible that he's the recompleted Isa since his recompleted human form has no visible differences than his Nobody, unlike Braig and Xigbar. Speaking of which, do people keep their appearances that they had as Nobodies when they turn back into people, or are they reverted to how they looked before they were turned into Nobodies? This is very unclear. It seems that some parts of them did keep their appearance and some parts of them didn't for some reason. Ienzo, Lea, and Isa aged as Nobodies and kept their ages when they turned back into people. Lea lost the markings under his eyes when he became a person again though for some reason. From what we know, this is how it is: You are reverted back to how you looked before you became a Nobody, but you keep your age. For example, Lea was reverted to how he looked before he became a Nobody which is why he lost the markings under his eyes, but he still looks older because he kept his age.

  • Why did Lea and Isa get recompleted with their black coats on? Does that mean they were the only ones who were wearing black coats before they became Nobodies?

  • Ienzo seems to have known this whole time that the original person can get recompleted if their Heartless and Nobody is destroyed, so when he was Zexion, why did he act like he didn't know?

  • It has been confirmed that Axel, Roxas, Xion, and Naminé all grew hearts. As seen with Roxas, if your Nobody grows a heart and recombines with your other pieces to recreate the original person, the heart that the Nobody grew will be trapped inside of you. Since Axel grew a heart of his own and has been recompleted, does this mean that Lea now has two hearts: his original heart and the heart his Nobody grew? Or did the heart that his Nobody grew combine with his original heart? If so, then why didn't Roxas' heart combine with Sora's? Would it be because Roxas had a completely separate personality and memories than Sora, while Axel had the same personality and memories as Lea?

  • Tetsuya Nomura said that Nobodies don't age, but Axel, Saïx, and Zexion all clearly aged. Maybe you need a heart to age, and since Axel grew a heart, he didn't count as a regular Nobody so he aged? Does this mean Saïx and Zexion grew hearts as well? Do you need a heart to age?

  • Where is Terra's heart and body? Is Xehanort still possessing it, but just making it look like his old man form, like how Ansem, Seeker of Darkness in the first Kingdom Hearts was still possessing Riku's body, but making it look like himself?

  • What's the situation with Eraqus being inside of Terra's heart? After Terra-Xehanort split into a Heartless and Nobody, what happened with Eraqus' heart, and where is Eraqus' heart now?

  • Why can't Sleeping Worlds dream about Heartless? All the "realm of sleep" is, is dreams. It can be dreams of people or dreams of worlds that have fallen to darkness/fallen to the Realm of Darkness, since worlds that fall to darkness, also fall to sleep, and they dream. So, since people can dream about Heartless and have them appear in the realm of sleep, then why can't worlds do the same?

  • Heartless can be created in the realm of sleep by someone dreaming about a Heartless in their dream, but Heartless can't enter the realm of sleep from the outside world. If Heartless can't enter the realm of sleep, then how was Ansem, Seeker of Darkness able to enter the realm of sleep? Is it because he's not just a Heartless, he's a Heartless possessing a body (Riku's body form the first Kingdom Hearts)? Does him having a body allow him to enter the realm of sleep? Also, why can't Heartless enter the realm of sleep in the first place? Why can't they just use Corridors of Darkness to enter? Young Xehanort, and the other Seekers of Darkness, follow Sora and Riku into the realm of sleep. They use that as an entrance. But, I'm still pretty sure that Corridors of Darkness can get you into the realm of sleep since they were all using Corridors of Darkness while in the realm of sleep. That's also presumably how they got out of the realm of sleep when they were done putting Sora into that weird sleep coma. Presumably. So, yeah, why can't Heartless use Corridors of Darkness to enter the realm of sleep?

  • Who are all of the Seven Guardians of Light?

  • Who are all of the Thirteen Seekers of Darkness?

  • Why did the time traveling members of the Thirteen Seekers of Darkness have to go back to their own time? And how are they going to come back?

  • The Kingdom Hearts Ultimania states that Xehanort's heart being in thirteen vessels serves as raw material for the χ-blade. Why is this? Xehanort's heart isn't pure darkness, so how does him putting his heart into thirteen vessels work for creating the χ-blade?

  • What was the Riku that Riku saw in Monstro in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance? Was it the dream world projecting an image of Riku from the first Kingdom Hearts? Putting Riku "back in his place," like it did to Jiminy in Sora's side of Prankster's Paradise? If so, then why is he wearing a black coat? Riku wasn't wearing a black coat in the first Kingdom Hearts, and the worlds only dream about their pasts, so this wouldn't make sense. Is it a Seeker of Darkness? If that Riku is a Seeker of Darkness, is it Riku Replica? If it's Riku Replica, then why did Riku say "That was my... my dark side. I gave into the darkness once, and ever since, it's chased be around in one form or another. The seeker of darkness who stole my body, a puppet replica of the shadows in my heart, and now, I'm facing me."? He lists the versions of his darkness that have chased him around in one form or another. He lists Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Riku Replica, and then says that now, he's facing himself. That implies that it's not Riku Replica. So, it's not Riku Replica, right? Unless Riku's just assuming it's not Riku Replica. If it's just himself (Riku) that he was facing, then was it when he was a villain in the first Kingdom Hearts that's time traveled to present-day to be a Seeker of Darkness? If it's Riku Replica or himself from the first game time traveled to present-day to be a Seeker of Darkness, then how come Young Xehanort isn't there with him? Tetsuya Nomura has stated that Young Xehanort functioned as a "portal" that summoned the Xemnas and Ansem, Seeker of Darkness. Wouldn't it be the same for Riku Replica/Riku from the first game and any other time traveling Seekers of Darkness? If not, then why?

  • How are we going to save Ventus, Terra, Roxas, Xion, and Naminé?

  • What is the Key to Return Hearts?

  • In the Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance secret ending, Goofy says that Lea hurried back to Radiant Garden. Why did he hurry back to Radiant Garden?

  • It was shown that the "illusion" of Terra we see in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- was there because of Naminé's help. This took place right after Sora went into the pod to restore his memory, so why/how did Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- end with how the first Kingdom Hearts game ended? How does that make any sense timeline wise?

  • Why did the illusion of Ventus we see in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- have a black and white checkered design on the back of his jacket rather than the half black half white design the back of his jacket usually has?

  • If the dark counterpart of Keyblades of Light (Keyblades of Darkness) are found on the dark side of the world the Keyblade of Light was gained at, then does that mean Keyblades of Darkness are only created when a world that a Keyblade of Light was gained at falls to darkness? Or are Keyblade of Darkness counterparts to Keyblades of Light created in the Realm of Darkness right when a Keyblade of Light is gained, but just teleports to the world the Keyblade of Light was gained at when it falls to darkness?

  • How did Aqua and Mickey end up at the Realm of Darkness area that was behind the Door to Darkness? There was just a flash of light and then they got teleported there. What was that flash of light from and how did they get teleported there? Was it the flash of light that came out of the Door to Darkness when Sora said "Kingdom Hearts is light" in the first Kingdom Hearts?

  • How did Mickey get his shirt back in time for Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories after it got destroyed by the Demon Tide?

  • How long ago does Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] take place? We know that the Age of Fairy Tales takes place "more than a hundred years before Sora received the Keyblade," but "more than a hundred years" is a very vague number.

  • What is the name and identity of The Master of Masters?

  • What were the Foretellers' and Luxu's original names before The Master of Masters gave them new names and what do their faces look like?

  • What are the names of all of the Foretellers' Keyblades?

  • Who is Xehanort and Eraqus' master? Is it Luxu, or was there another generation in-between them and Luxu, or even more? Also, was this Yen Sid's master as well, or did he have a different master? If so, then who was Yen Sid's master?

  • What's in the black box that The Master of Masters gave to Luxu, and why isn't Luxu allowed to open it?

  • How was The Master of Masters able to see the future with the Gazing Eye when it wasn't even passed down yet? Wouldn't that just be him looking into the present since he has to wait until it's passed down?

  • Why did The Master of Masters disappear?

  • How do the Dandelions survive the darkness that covers the World after the Keyblade War?

  • How does Luxu survive the darkness that covers the World after the Keyblade War?

  • If The Master of Masters only put his one eye on one Keyblade, then how are there so many eyes on so many Keyblades in the future?

  • Who Bequeathed Ventus, the Player, Ephemer, Skuld, Brain, and all of the other Keyblade wielders from the Age of Fairy Tales?

  • How did Ventus and Lauriam get from the Age of Fairy Tales to the time period of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.

  • How was present-day Maleficent there in the Unchained realm during the Age of Fairy Tales during the Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] secret ending?

  • How did the light from children's hearts recreate the World? Do children's hearts just simply have the ability to create an entire universe? Or was Kairi's Grandma just being vague in her story? If so, then what really happened?

That "invisible Heartless" was just an off-screen Heartless that disappeared after the damage was done. It was mostly for the sake of a dramatic entrance, I doubt it really had any special meaning. Most of the effects used in KH1 where before they ironed out a lot of the effects later used in other games. Like you notice how in KH1 Maleficent and other characters just sort of "evaporate" from the area instead of leaving a Corridor of Darkness? Then in KH2 and every game after that that's how all the bad guys are disappearing, using Corridors of Darkness or some kind of derivative as the main style of disappearing. It can always be assumed that that was what they have been using all along, they just hadn't had thought of the idea of a Corridor of Darkness yet, so they just didn't look that way. The same logic could applied to lots of these questions if you really think about it, just passing things that didn't really have as much thought put into them at the time before things started getting more complicated and intricate later on.

The Heartless in the Memory Worlds that Sora and Riku go through are likely "memory Heartless", but the ones that they fight when going through Castle Oblivion Floor 13/Basement Level 1 are likely real, since they are going through the actual halls of the castle themselves.

Sephiroth not recognizing Sora is either a result of poor writing; the fact that the Olympus Coliseum match against him in KH1 is something that you have to go through A LOT of trouble to unlock, so they probably figured a lot of players didn't get that far enough to challenge him then, which is why in KH2 it's an already optional fight once you clear Hollow Bastion a third time; or due to Namine's prior tampering with Sora's memories and the fact that Sephiroth barely knew Sora, let alone Donald and Goofy, to begin with, it makes sense that he would have little to no memory of him when they met again. The same could apply to Sora too, though it sounds like they may be a bit familiar of his appearance, though that could have just been due to Cloud's description. With Sora's whole memory mess, you could probably use that as an excuse for a lot of plot holes here too.

Keyblades are just kind of a thing that naturally exists based on the wielder's heart. Like Road to Dawn and Destiny's Embrace weren't created thousands of years ago or something, they came into existence in that shape based on the events and people they are related to. A Keyblade is just an extension of a person's heart, so it's shape is solely reliant on the wielder, it never originally came with that form independent of the wielder before it was created. Exceptions to this can be the more "special Keyblades", like the Kingdom Key (Keyblade of the Realm of Light), Kingdom Key D (Keyblade of the Realm of Darkness), and the Keyblade used to Unlock People's Hearts (a Keyblade of Heart formed out of 6 of the 7 Princesses' hearts).

Just to be clear, are you looking for potential answers to these questions or do you just want the questions to be gathered for reference later on? Cause I could go on all week giving possible answers and hypotheses to these. :P

Some of these questions are already answered. Not all of them, but quite a few indeed. You'll soon have Flaming Lea telling you the answer to them xD I honestly don't have time at the moment, so I can't answer them, but trust me, there's quite a few of them.

Thanks for the response.

Yeah, I'm just collecting these questions for reference later on. I'm going to be sort of treating this as a "check list", so when future KH games come out, such as 2.8 and KH3, I can check off these questions once they're answered.

Are the Heartless that appear in KHCOM/KHRe:COM real Heartless or are they fake Heartless created from the cards made from Sora and Riku's memories?

Most are just memories, the ones on the actual Castle floors are real.

Proof?

In KHII, why doesn't Sephiroth recognize Sora?

The fight in KH is non canon, confirmed by Nomura himself.

Where was this stated? Can you give me a link?

Where did Riku find the Destiny's Embrace Keyblade that he gave to Kairi?

Not an actual answer, but he probably pulled it out from her own Heart, similar with how Sora pulled Riku's out on the begining of KH.

If Keyblades were forged long ago, then how were Riku and Lea able to create their own Keyblades that are based off of their previously wielded weapons?

They forged them themselves, but using their weapons as a base and pulling the light from inside their Hearts.

Proof?

Do you physically find Keychains on the ground and in chests or are they objects formed by your heart and the bonds of your heart? Or both?

Not actual items, just memories linked to different people that change the shape of one's keyblade.

Except for the fact that they are actual items. People have literally handed Sora Keychains before.

Why hasn't Xemnas wielded a Keyblade? (Assuming he has the ability to).

Nomura stated he could but chose not to, we don't know yet why.

Why does the Kingdom Key look exactly like the two blades that are a part of the χ-blade? Similarly, why does the Kingdom Key D look very similar to the two blades that are a part of the χ-blade?

Whomever made them just chose to made them similar to the χ-blade.

Proof?

Why did Mickey leave Aqua in the Realm of Darkness?

Will be answered in BBB 0.2.

Yup.

In KHDDD, How and why was Destiny Islands a Sleeping World?

It wasn't, Sora and Riku traveled back in time to the point where the world became a sleeping world and hitched a ride to access it's own sleeping keyhole so they could gain access to the Realm of Sleep, it became one eventually, just not when we actually played it.

Yes it was.

"I will return you to the Destiny Islands just before they were swallowed by the darkness and plunged into sleep. Once dreams take you, you must let them guide you to the Sleeping Worlds."

Who brought the phantom Ursula into existence and how?

YX did.

Proof? Also, that doesn't answer the "and how?" part of the question.

If Space Paranoids is a copy of The Grid, then how was the Tron from The Grid (Rinzler) able to remember Sora if the Tron that Sora met in Space Paranoids is a copy?

Sora's own Heart remembered from him, similar with how Heyner and the gang felt sad about Sora leaving just when they met him, Roxas own Hearts was remembering for them, it's because of the chains of memories, they are all linked, when one remembers the other does as well.

Proof?

What did Young Xehanort mean by "Data does not dream, cannot dream. This world is real."?

Data cannot dream, it's fake, so The Grid is a real world trapped in the realm of Sleep, not a Sleeping World. Think about the real world, when you put a computer "to sleep" it just halts most funcionalities and resumes them once it "wakes up".

Fair enough.

In KHDDD, Riku finds a message in a bottle inside of Sora's dreams/Sora's heart which holds data on it that could potentially help save some of the people who have been lost. What exactly is this data and what does the message in the bottle say?

Was put in there by Namine on orders of Ansem the Wise, we'll find out exactly what this data is on KH3, the people it refers to are Ven, Namine, Xion and Roxas, probably a means of removing their Hearts from inside Sora/Kairi and forge new bodies to house them so they can become whole again.

Yup.

OK, so Flaming Lea is online but she isn't showing up, and she may not do so, so I'll try to answer as many questions as possible (although I can barely remember many details from the series -.-)

EDIT: I just wanted to say that I barely remember the story of DDD, so I can't confirm anything that I said xD

In this post, I will make a complete list of every single currently unanswered question in the Kingdom Hearts series and universe. Please comment down below all unanswered questions / "plot holes" you can think of and I will add them to this list. Hopefully we can fill it out together and create a truly complete list.

Hopefully they answer most if not all of these in KH0.2 and KH3.

Complete List of Unanswered Questions (WIP)

  • How did King Triton know about the Keyblade? Although it isn't confirmed, it's probably for the same reason that Kairi's grandmother knows about it, it's a legend, anyone could know about the Keyblade if they search info about it. Sephiroth also knew about it, it isn't like Triton is the only person who knows stuff of the Keyblade.

  • Why was the enemy that was chasing and attacked the man in Traverse Town invisible? Since he turned into an Emblem Heartless, it was most likely an Emblem Heartless that attacked him and stole his heart, but why didn't they animate it? Why was it just invisible? As others have said, it's very likely that it was just done to make the scene look better and stuff, or to not actually see a heartless slay a person (remember this is Disney). This isn't a major issue.

  • In the beginning of KHCOM/KHRe:COM, what exactly was written on the letter that Pluto was holding? Can't answer this, and I'm also curious to know what it has written in it.

  • Are the Heartless that appear in KHCOM/KHRe:COM real Heartless or are they fake Heartless created from the cards made from Sora and Riku's memories? As others have said, the Heartless from CO are ilusions created by the cards, just like the other Disney/FF characters. This, however, differs in the last floor/basement, where there's no actual card to create the ilusion heartless, it's just heartless that inhabitate CO. Proof? I don't have, sorry, but I find my answer quite logical, don't you?

  • Why did the 3 guards in Land of Dragons turn into Emblem Heartless? Were they Emblem Heartless disguised as guards? Because if they were just 3 people who turned into Heartless, then they should've turned into Pureblood Heartless. (So yeah, it was most likely 3 Emblem Heartless that were just disguised as guards, but that's not confirmed). I haven't watched Mulan in ages, so I can't remember a thing about the guards. Can't answer this :/

  • How did The Ghosts of Scar merge together to create an Emblem Heartless? Shouldn't it have been a Pureblood Heartless if anything? Since the Emblem Heartless it turned into (Groundshaker) looks so much like the Living Bone Heartless, maybe a Living Bone consumed all of The Ghosts of Scar which transformed it into a much powerful being? That would make a lot more sense, but it's not confirmed. If I'm not mistaken, it was the heartless who devided itself into the shadows and then gathered up again. So basically the heartless made the shadows appear, and when it prepared to fight it gathered the shadows to show its true form. I could be wrong though.

  • In KHII, why doesn't Sephiroth recognize Sora? Their fight in KH1(FM) wasn't canon, as others have said. I can't find the website I used to use to see Nomura's interviews, so I can't confirm this :/

  • Where did Riku find the Destiny's Embrace Keyblade that he gave to Kairi? This is unknown, and poorly made as far as we are aware.

  • If Keyblades were forged long ago, then how were Riku and Lea able to create their own Keyblades that are based off of their previously wielded weapons? I honestly disliked how Lea created his keyblade, I don't get how that happened. Still, I'm quite sure Nomura has answered this in interviews (which I can no longer find :( ). Now Riku was always able to use a keyblade, but Sora "took it" from him, but as you say, in the end he forges a keyblade, and... I don't know how :/ This also happens with Data Sora in Re: Coded.

  • Were Keyblades physically forged or forged by people's hearts? (This would explain the previous question). I don't know if this has been or will be answered in KHX, but I ceirtanly don't know xD

  • Do you physically find Keychains on the ground and in chests or are they objects formed by your heart and the bonds of your heart? Or both? I never understood the keychain thingy. It's not very important anyway.

  • Where do Keychains come from? Did they all once belong to a respective Keyblade, but just fell off or got lost? Or are they forged separately as special accessories? Same as before.

  • Why hasn't Xemnas wielded a Keyblade? (Assuming he has the ability to). It hasn't been confirmed why he doesn't use it, but it is pretty much confirmed that he can. The reasons why he may not use it are the following: 1. It's somehow restricted. 2. Anyone would chose two lightsabers rather than a keyblade  . 3. He'll use it in KH3.

  • Xemnas was trying to find the Chamber of Waking. How did he know that the Chamber of Waking exists? Neither Xehanort nor Terra have ever known about its existence, so how did Xemnas discover that it existed? Once again, uncorfirmed, but he did speak with Aqua's aromour, maybe that somehow allowed him to know the existance of the chamber of awakening.

  • What is the name and identities of Luxord, Larxene, Demyx, and Marluxia's original human forms? We'll hopefully know in KH3. Please be excited.

  • When Roxas dual-wielded, why did he spawn two Kingdom Keys instead of the Kingdom Key and the Wayward Wind? Why would he? He uses Sora's keyblade and Xion's. Also, when Sora uses a fusion he uses his and Ventus' keyblade, and he doesn't use Wayward Wind either.

  • The χ-blade split into 13 pieces of darkness and 7 pieces of light. The 7 pieces of light became the 7 Princesses of Heart. So, what happened to the 13 pieces of darkness? No idea, let's see what happens in KH3.

  • Why does the Kingdom Key look exactly like the two blades that are a part of the χ-blade? Similarly, why does the Kingdom Key D look very similar to the two blades that are a part of the χ-blade? I don't think there's a really important meaning behind this. Anyways, no one knows.

  • Is Ends of the Earth the new base form of Terra's Keyblade, or is it simply just a Keychain? Is Stormfall the new base form of Aqua's Keyblade or is it simply just a Keychain? Exactly the same as before.

  • If the Unversed are created by Vanitas and come from Vanitas, then how was Lady Tremaine able to turn the coach into an Unversed and how was The Queen able to turn the Magic Mirror into an Unversed? It's probably explained, but I can't remember the reason :/ By the way, as far as I'm aware the Magic Mirror isn't an Unversed.

  • In KHBBS, Why did Lea and Isa go to Ansem the Wise's castle Were they applying for a job or something? This may be important in the future, but at the moment there's no reason to wonder why this is.

  • What are Save Points exactly? (If you didn't know, they are canon. Ventus has briefly mentioned one before). No idea. First time I've ever heard they're canon, by the way.

  • How does Sora, Donald, and Goofy get from the Gummi Ship to a world and from a world to the Gummi Ship? Are Save Points like strange warp stations made from light that they can beam up to the Gummi Ship from? I couldn't care less to be honest xD

  • Why did Mickey leave Aqua in the Realm of Darkness? This will be told to us in 2.8. By the way, is it confirmed that they actually meet in the RoD? I don't think Mickey knows that she's there, does he? He just thinks she's vanished.

  • Where is Terra's heart and body? This will be told to us in KH3. Please be excited.

  • It is implied that Eraqus' heart took refuge within Terra. If this is the case, then where is his heart, body, and soul now? And where was Eraqus' heart after Terra-Xehanort split into a Heartless and a Nobody? Just like before. Please be excited.

  • In KHDDD, How and why was Destiny Islands a Sleeping World? Good question. I wouldn't be surprised if this has already been answered, but I don't feel like searching it now xD

  • Who brought the phantom Ursula into existence and how? I'm quite sure it was the Robed Figure, but I don't think it was confirmed.

  • If Space Paranoids is a copy of The Grid, then how was the Tron from The Grid (Rinzler) able to remember Sora if the Tron that Sora met in Space Paranoids is a copy? I have no choice but to leave this one to Lea, I found the Grid to be too confusing.

  • What did Young Xehanort mean by "Data does not dream, cannot dream. This world is real."? Same as before. I can already tell you that the Grid lies partly outside of the Sleeping Realm.

  • In KHDDD, Sora asked Young Xehanort how the Robed Figure knew that Sora would have traveled back in time to Destiny Islands on this specific day, and he replied with "Simple." He never gave a full answer. So, what is the answer? In KHDDD Xehanort is considered the best tactitian in existance, so he can just guess everything. It was also quite obvious anyway, as long as the Destiny Islands were known to be in the Sleeping Realm that is.

  • Who are all of the 7 Guardians of Light? The confirmed ones are Sora, Riku, Kairi, Ventus, Terra, Aqua and Mickey. So that's all seven of them. Proof?

  • Who are all of the 13 Seekers of Darkness? Tne confirmed ones are only MX, Xemnas, Ansem, Xigbar/Braig, YX and Saïx. The rest will be revealed in KH3. Please be excited.

  • In KHDDD, Riku finds a message in a bottle inside of Sora's dreams/Sora's heart which holds data on it that could potentially help save some of the people who have been lost. What exactly is this data and what does the message in the bottle say? I can't actually remember this part very well... but I think that it was nothing, it was like a way of trigering the data that Ansem the Wise put into Sora's body, like when the bottle was opened he would appear to speak to Riku.

  • In the KHDDD secret ending, Goofy says that Lea hurried back to Radiant Garden. Why did he hurry back to Radiant Garden? Something that we will only know in KH3. Please be excited. Although we can already speculate that it's something about the old Organization Members.

I'm sorry to say that I haven't been following the story of KHX since I would like to actually play it by myself once it's completely released, so I cannot answer your questions about that :/

Now, more questions...

Why did Xehanort want to create the X-blade in BBS when in DDD he stated that that X-blade wouldn't be perfect since the only way to forge it is to have 7 lights and 13 darknesses fighting (and in BBS he had 1 light vs 1 darkness)? Only a few explanations are posible. One of them is that he just wanted a provisional X-blade for the time being because of whatever reason. Another one is that Ventus is equivelant to 7 lights and Vanitas to 13 darknesses, but that would be quite a retcon :/

I would suggest more, but I'm short in time at the moment to be honest, it took me a hella lot of time to actually answer all of this xD

Except for the fact that they are actual items. People have literally handed Sora Keychains before.

People have also gave Sora several moves like Dodge Roll and the like, you're telling me those are actual items as well? Only Keychain that Sora actually owns is Kairi's lucky charm, the rest are not physical items.

NO, it wasn't, at least not yet, the worlds become Sleeping Worlds when they are taken over by darkness, Sora and Riku where sent into the past, right at the moment the world got taken over, the exact same time Sora was fighting over the Darkside back on KH, the moment you play on the actual game is when the world was still on the normal realm, the moment the world falls into sleep the keyhole appears and both Sora and Riku use it to reach the Realm of Sleep. It became one obviously, just not at the time you are actually playing it.

Every other proof you need can be found on the Ultimanias by Nomura himself and the actual games, you just need to pay attention and actually read everything.

When Roxas dual-wielded, why did he spawn two Kingdom Keys instead of the Kingdom Key and the Wayward Wind? Why would he? He uses Sora's keyblade and Xion's. Also, when Sora uses a fusion he uses his and Ventus' keyblade, and he doesn't use Wayward Wind either.

Roxas doesn't use Xion's Keyblade, in fact Xion never had a Keyblade, she had a fake, made from memories taken from Sora. He uses Ven's and Sora's. The possible explanation is probably because Ven's Heart was still asleep so it took it's appearence from the Heart that was available to him, Sora's, even thought the actual Keyblade came from Ven.

The possible explanation is probably because Ven's Heart was still asleep so it took it's appearence from the Heart that was available to him, Sora's, even thought the actual Keyblade came from Ven.

Copy pasted from the wiki (story section):

This marks the start of where he gains his signature ability to dual-wield, as he awakens Xion's Keyblade after her demise. The first time he uses them, they appear as two Kingdom Keys, his and Xion's, which quickly transform into the Oathkeeper and Oblivion. Xion's transforms into Oathkeeper representing the connection between Sora and Kairi, while Roxas' Keyblade transforms into Oblivion which is meant to represent Sora and Riku's bond.

http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/Roxas

This is taken from the wiki, but I don't know how reliable that is. Sora uses Riku's keyblade, and when he fuses he uses Ventus' keyblade, which is Roxas'. Regardless if Roxas' second keyblade is Xion's or not, it doesn't matter who the keyblade is from since it's the keychain what decides what keyblade pops up.

This is proven when Master Xehanort transports himself to Young Xehanort's body and he uses his keyblade; you can see that YX doesn't use MX's keyblade, he uses a different one. <= I know this may sound weird since it isn't explained in the game, Nomura himself stated that in KHDDD when Mickey uses Stopza Master Xehanort (who's still appearing in the room) transports himself into YX's body (because he obviously couldn't fight when he didn't appear completely in the room), so Riku fights MX inside YX's body, and this enemy uses MX's keyblade (which means that YX may not be able to even use the Keyblade). This is the reason why Mickey says "Wait, are you...?" refering that this enemy isn't YX but rather MX.

EDIT: I just found the part of the interview where Nomura says what I just said (that Master Xehanort trasports himself into Young Xehanort):

— Did King Mickey’s time magic not work properly on Young Xehanort because Young Xehanort has the power to control time?

Nomura: Not Young Xehanort’s but rather Master Xehanort’s power. King Mickey was surprised at the time, seeing his Keyblade and noticing he harboured the power of Master Xehanort. That Keyblade was designed as the one Master Xehanort used in KHBBS combined with an hourglass, you see.

OK, now I'm not sure if he transported himself or if he just gave YX a power up to escape from Stopza xD

so only about 15 of your 40 questions actually stand a good chance of being answered in the next few games.

questions like "Why did Mickey leave Aqua in the Realm of Darkness" and "Where is Terra's heart and body" will most likely be addressed in upcoming games.

however, some of these "unanswered questions" really feel more like personal curiosities or minor points of interest that don't need to be explained in the games. things that the player could just look a bit deeper into the games for and come up with their own answers.

like "What are save points" and "How do Sora and co. get to their gummi ship" aren't begging for definitive answers. make up your own answer for those kinds of questions. There is no real reason to address these points because they aren't critical to the story at this point.

then there are the questions like "How does King Triton know about keyblade wielders" and "What was in the letter Pluto held in CoM" which can most likely be explained by assuming Nomura didn't know where he wanted to take the concepts and story of KH and so he inserted a couple of plot points without really knowing what to do with them. The Pluto-letter question is definitely just a sequel hook if anything. It was there to tease the fans. They probably only kept it in the actual CoM game for consistency. I'd think a better question would be how did Sora and co. start out in a large empty field and then seemingly walk to the edge of oblivion and find a castle.

other questions have been answered by Nomura in interviews like "Can Xemnas use a keyblade?"

overall it seems as though your list of unanswered questions has no real criteria and it's a list of things you're curious about regarding the KH series. and if that's the case i've got some questions to add:

Why does Sora end up the back alley of Traverse Town? Why not in the main square? Did he subconsciously control where he landed? Who cut Riku's hair in DDD? Why is the gummi ship colored red, yellow and blue? How does Ventus not die from falling from such a large height in the Keyblade Graveyard in BBS? What are the multiple zippers on Donald's hat for? Possibly holding items but not confirmed.

lots of "unanswered questions."

in all seriousness though i'd say it'd be better to make a list that consists of the unanswered questions that are actually relevant to the plot. yes that's a bit of a gray area because what's relevant to one may not be relevant to another, but i think we can all agree that "What are save points" and "Who created the phantom Ursula" are not critical plot points that have yet to be addressed. i'm not going to complete KH3 and think "damn i can't believe we never found out just what exactly the save points were! talk about unsatisfying."

As for the Grid - two words: copy and paste. If the world was copied, then everything would have been duplicated including Tron's memories of Sora.

  • Why was the enemy that was chasing and attacked the man in Traverse Town invisible? Since he turned into an Emblem Heartless, it was most likely an Emblem Heartless that attacked him and stole his heart, but why didn't they animate it? Why was it just invisible?

  • In the beginning of KHCOM/KHRe:COM, what exactly was written on the letter that Pluto was holding?

  • Are the Heartless that appear in KHCOM/KHRe:COM real Heartless or are they fake Heartless created from the cards made from Sora and Riku's memories?

  • Why did the 3 guards in Land of Dragons turn into Emblem Heartless? Were they Emblem Heartless disguised as guards? Because if they were just 3 people who turned into Heartless, then they should've turned into Pureblood Heartless. (So yeah, it was most likely 3 Emblem Heartless that were just disguised as guards, but that's not confirmed).

  • In KHII, why doesn't Sephiroth recognize Sora?

  • Where did Riku find the Destiny's Embrace Keyblade that he gave to Kairi?

  • If Keyblades were forged long ago, then how were Riku and Lea able to create their own Keyblades that are based off of their previously wielded weapons?

  • Were Keyblades physically forged or forged by people's hearts? (This would explain the previous question).

  • Do you physically find Keychains on the ground and in chests or are they objects formed by your heart and the bonds of your heart? Or both?

  • Where do Keychains come from? Did they all once belong to a respective Keyblade, but just fell off or got lost? Or are they forged separately as special accessories?

  • Why hasn't Xemnas wielded a Keyblade? (Assuming he has the ability to).

  • Xemnas was trying to find the Chamber of Waking. How did he know that the Chamber of Waking exists? Neither Xehanort nor Terra have ever known about its existence, so how did Xemnas discover that it existed?

  • What is the name and identities of Luxord, Larxene, Demyx, and Marluxia's original human forms?

  • When Roxas dual-wielded, why did he spawn two Kingdom Keys instead of the Kingdom Key and the Wayward Wind?

  • The χ-blade split into 13 pieces of darkness and 7 pieces of light. The 7 pieces of light became the 7 Princesses of Heart. So, what happened to the 13 pieces of darkness?

  • Why does the Kingdom Key look exactly like the two blades that are a part of the χ-blade? Similarly, why does the Kingdom Key D look very similar to the two blades that are a part of the χ-blade?

  • Is Ends of the Earth the new base form of Terra's Keyblade, or is it simply just a Keychain? Is Stormfall the new base form of Aqua's Keyblade or is it simply just a Keychain?

  • If the Unversed are created by Vanitas and come from Vanitas, then how was Lady Tremaine able to turn the coach into an Unversed and how was The Queen able to turn the Magic Mirror into an Unversed?

  • In KHBBS, Why did Lea and Isa go to Ansem the Wise's castle Were they applying for a job or something?

  • What are Save Points exactly? (If you didn't know, they are canon. Ventus has briefly mentioned one before).

  • How does Sora, Donald, and Goofy get from the Gummi Ship to a world and from a world to the Gummi Ship? Are Save Points like strange warp stations made from light that they can beam up to the Gummi Ship from?

  • Why did Mickey leave Aqua in the Realm of Darkness?

  • Where is Terra's heart and body?

  • It is implied that Eraqus' heart took refuge within Terra. If this is the case, then where is his heart, body, and soul now? And where was Eraqus' heart after Terra-Xehanort split into a Heartless and a Nobody?

  • In KHDDD, How and why was Destiny Islands a Sleeping World?

  • Who brought the phantom Ursula into existence and how?

  • If Space Paranoids is a copy of The Grid, then how was the Tron from The Grid (Rinzler) able to remember Sora if the Tron that Sora met in Space Paranoids is a copy?

  • What did Young Xehanort mean by "Data does not dream, cannot dream. This world is real."?

  • In KHDDD, Sora asked Young Xehanort how the Robed Figure knew that Sora would have traveled back in time to Destiny Islands on this specific day, and he replied with "Simple." He never gave a full answer. So, what is the answer?

  • Who are all of the 7 Guardians of Light?

  • Who are all of the 13 Seekers of Darkness?

  • In KHDDD, Riku finds a message in a bottle inside of Sora's dreams/Sora's heart which holds data on it that could potentially help save some of the people who have been lost. What exactly is this data and what does the message in the bottle say?

  • In the KHDDD secret ending, Goofy says that Lea hurried back to Radiant Garden. Why did he hurry back to Radiant Garden?

  • In KHχ/KHUχ, who is the Unknown?

  • What is the name and identity of the Master of Masters?

  • What is the name and identity of the 6th apprentice of the Master of Masters?

  • In KHχ/KHUχ, how will collecting Lux help with fighting off the inevitable darkness?

  • In KHχ/KHUχ, were the players, dandelions, Skuld, Ephemera, etc. all originally from Daybreak Town or were they all created by the Book of Prophecies?

Please give me unanswered questions. Thank you :)

so only about 15 of your 40 questions actually stand a good chance of being answered in the next few games.

questions like "Why did Mickey leave Aqua in the Realm of Darkness" and "Where is Terra's heart and body" will most likely be addressed in upcoming games.

however, some of these "unanswered questions" really feel more like personal curiosities or minor points of interest that don't need to be explained in the games. things that the player could just look a bit deeper into the games for and come up with their own answers.

like "What are save points" and "How do Sora and co. get to their gummi ship" aren't begging for definitive answers. make up your own answer for those kinds of questions.

Save Points are crystals and if you look at the first time you land in Pride Lands, SDG are engulfed in green light similar to the save point's color, so I would say thats how they appear in LAND base worlds not worlds like Atlantica where they just pop out of a storm of bubbles. Also, they always start in the same place as a save point, so it would be safe to assume to that they use it to go to and from the ship.

I'm honestly surprised people still ask about Triton. I mean it's pretty obvious that some people know some version of the Keyblade War story. The survivors passed down the story as a cautionary tale in hopes that if people knew what happened history would not repeat itself. Over time the story was told and retold, resulting in many versions, some more complete the others and this information would be imperative to world rulers like Triton. Keyblade Masters have the most complete version, world rulers have a somewhat less intact version and other people have the fairy tale version.Honestly, the answers to many of there are obvious if you just use context clues and a modicum of critical thinking skills.Like Keychains for example, if they where just physical objects, why does Sora loose access to all of them whenever something affects his memory? Oathkeeper is a perfect example. Even though Sora had the charm with him the whole time in KH2, he couldn't use it until he thought about Kairi. Same thing in 3D, he never used it despite the fact that we know Kairi gave it to him when he went off for his MoM. The logical answer is that the the power of a Keychain comes from memories and any physical token is unnecessary.

As for the Grid - two words: copy and paste. If the world was copied, then everything would have been duplicated including Tron's memories of Sora.

The Grid wasn't the world that was copied. Space Paranoids was the world that was copied. Sora met the copied version of Tron and never met the real Tron.

Ok some of the questions have already been answered by others here so i don't need to answer again and some obviously don't have answers yet lol but here are some parts to address:

Yes Nomura said Sephy in KH1 was not canon - it's in the interviews somewhere I suggest you use our fine interview archive we have here bc it would take me forever to find interviews for every tiny minute detail but I can remember where a lot of interviews are so that will have to suffice lol.

Fair enough.

Where did Riku find the Destiny's Embrace Keyblade that he gave to Kairi?

Nomura: ( lol he prolly doesn't even know yet)

There isn’t necessarily one keyblade for the dark side and one for the light side, just as many as there exist people with qualified hearts. Concerning the conditions to wield one, at this stage, “Those with strong hearts” is the only obvious one. However, less obvious conditions still exist and there are still plans for an opportunity to reveal those. Riku’s “Way to the Dawn” and Kairi’s keyblade are naturally the same type of keyblade as Sora’s. However there is no particular explanation for the Soul Eater’s transfer and occurrence, as well as Riku’s handing it to Kairi. When there

isn’t a normal process of acquisition, I think its ok to think there is some deeper meaning there

lol. There is not an answer yet but thought this "answer" was funny.

If Keyblades were forged long ago, then how were Riku and Lea able to create their own Keyblades that are based off of their previously wielded weapons?

They prolly used their hearts and their connections with them to help form with whatever keyblade chose them. Nomura has never properly went into detail with this. He also said there are as many keyblades as there are qualifying hearts so there is a lot more left to explain in this regard.

Yeah, that's what I've always assumed. The glossary in DDD makes it seem like this subject is something that will most definitely be touched on in the future, so for now I think it's safe to call it an unanswered question since it'll most likely be answered fully and in-depth in the future.

Do you physically find Keychains on the ground and in chests or are they objects formed by your heart and the bonds of your heart? Or both?

Keychains are made from the memories, connections, and experiences you go through in your time out and about.

Yeah, that's what I figured, but is there any solid statement about that? The whole Keychain subject has been very vague and I think they should probably touch upon it more in the future.

Why hasn't Xemnas wielded a Keyblade? (Assuming he has the ability to).

Nomura stated :

  • Roxas, the “Sora + Ventus” Nobody, was able to use a Keyblade. In contrast, Xemnas, the “Terra + Master Xehanort” Nobody, wasn’t able to use a Keyblade. Why is this?

I’d rather that point remain a mystery. It’s possible that he intentionally wasn’t using one.

Wiki's are edited by anyone and thus are not reliable. It has been stated in game and by Nomura that Xion's is fake and an imitation:

Nomura: Riku only realizes it when Roxas takes off his hood and he can see his face, and he responds to his call. Until then he only half believed. When he first met Xion, he didn’t think that she was Sora or Kairi’s Nobody, and it was the same with Roxas. When he first saw Roxas, he had no proof of who he was. So that’s why he lost to Roxas, he was surprised at him using a real keyblade rather than an imitation like Xion’s, and he called out to him. Part of Riku didn’t really want to believe that his best friend really had a Nobody.

Yeah, the more I've been looking through the KH Wikis, the more and more false information I've been finding. Definitely not trustworthy sources

In the end Roxas is able use two keyblades. Is this because he now has Xion’s?

Nomura: Well, it isn’t that Roxas has physically inherited Xion’s keyblade, but more that Xion has awakened it within Roxas. In the KH series there are a lot of complex reasons why someone can use a keyblade, but basically you need a “heart” to be able to wield one. So strictly speaking, they are being influenced by Sora. At the present I can’t say more than that, since it would go into whether or not Roxas has a heart. And there is also a part that has to do with Xehanort’s memories. This time there were connections to the Kingdom Hearts I secret movie, and the time will come when this will have a clear connection as well. You’ll just have to ask me then.

4: Why can Roxas dual-wield?

Because he can use both Sora’s and Ventus’s Keyblades.

Sora can wield two Keyblades at once because he has Ventus’s as well as
his own. As Roxas is a part of Sora, he also can use two. In Days, Roxas
awakened his ability to dual-wield after fighting Xion. In KHII, once
Sora absorbed Roxas, he could also dual-wield. Roxas awoke his ability to dual-wield through his will to not forget Xion, who also wielded a Keyblade.

Both Sora and Roxas wield Sora's keyblade and dual wield with Ven's.

Yeah, but why wouldn't it be Wayward Wind? Is it Wayward Wind, but just with a Kingdom Key Keychain on it? When Sora dual-wields, he starts off by dual-wielding a Star Seeker. That's most likely Wayward Wind with a Star Seeker Keychain on it. I guess Roxas just had another Kingdom Key Keychain from Xion or something?

In DDD MX literally was possessing YX during that moment as he can do that with all his vessels.

Makes sense.

-The 7 lights are NOT confirmed yet and Nomura has stated this himself and even said we might be surprised at who they are. Same with the 13 darkness. Nomura said he wants us guessing.

Ye, that's why the question is on this list. Because it's currently unanswered. I'm creating this list for future reference. I'm gonna be sort of treating this list as a "check list" and will be crossing out questions once they're answered in future titles.

-We don't know where the actual original 13 darkness/pieces went and I have questioned this myself many times

--The book of prophecies might have told Xehanort they would be where they were and when and the Norts just waited maybe lol

-Ansem the Wise's hidden data includes how Sora can help bring back and save all his fallen comrades and AtW goes into this in the end of DDD although we'll find out more in KH3

Yeah.

"-If the Unversed are created by Vanitas and come from Vanitas, then how was Lady Tremaine able to turn the coach into an Unversed and how was The Queen able to turn the Magic Mirror into an Unversed?"

Well I think that has something to do with the villains utilizing the darkness and emotions to their advantage during the same time Vanitas and his existence brought around the Unversed. That and storyline convenience. Nomura talking about Unversed:

There was a new enemy this time called the Unversed, how did you think them up?

Since they couldn’t be around during KH, we needed to have an enemy that could no longer exist during that time. So we connected them to Vanitas, so that when he disappeared they will have disappeared as well. Their design concept was “emotions”, so we see them with smiling faces, angry faces, crying faces… they were designed with many different expressions. The Unversed mark is also meant to be a heart that expresses emotions.

Are the Unversed of a similar nature to the Heartless?
That’s right. The Heartless are born from the darkness of the heart, and Unversed are born from negative emotions, so you can call them relatives (laughs). To make them fundamentally similar, we made the designs similar. However there’s one difference in that the Heartless are seeking hearts, whereas the Unversed behave according to Vanitas’s will and emotions. For example, the Flood portray feelings of irritation.

-Xemnas was trying to find the Chamber of Waking. How did he know that the Chamber of Waking exists? Neither Xehanort nor Terra have ever known about its existence, so how did Xemnas discover that it existed?

Welp he had Terra's memories and Aqua's armor to talk to:

12: Why is Xemnas searching for The Chamber of Waking?

12: Why is Xemnas searching for The Chamber of Waking?

To find Ventus.

The Chamber of Waking is the room where Aqua leaves Ventus sleeping
in Last Episode, and is a part of Castle Oblivion. As you can see from
Xemnas calling Aqua’s armor his “friend”, it seems Xemnas has Terra’s
memories and he is searching for Ventus, making the other
Organization members look for the Chamber of Waking. The only one who can solve the mysteries of Castle Oblivion is Aqua, though, so the Organization was never able to find it.

So, I guess he was maybe sort of hearing Ven and Aqua call out to him, just like how Aqua heard Terra say "put an end to me" in BBS.

I'm sure there's more to cover but since there are so many question's I started there. That and I did not want to repeat what others already answered. Also many questions do not have answers yet and won't until KH3 so I didn't bother with those.

Thanks for the response! I've edited the post and removed and changed some things. Would you consider this a complete list of unanswered questions? Do I get the official Flaming Lea seal of approval lol? Or are there still things you think should be edited and changed?

Yes, I know what you're saying about Triton and Keychains are most likely the case, but they're still unconfirmed and unanswered. Triton has most likely heard stories of the Keyblade War, plus he's old and maybe he's even come across Keyblade wielders in the past. That's just headcanon though. Yeah, it's most likely the case and is probably correct, but still just headcanon.

yes questions without answers are indeed unanswered questions but it would be in the best interest of everyone to prioritize getting answers to questions that have some actual value to them. questions that are critical to the overall story.

i was just under the assumption that this thread would be about the arguably more important unanswered questions, and not some minor curiosities like "Hey what are save points" and "Why is Phantom Ursula here?"

Why would he? He uses Sora's keyblade and Xion's. Also, when Sora uses a fusion he uses his and Ventus' keyblade, and he doesn't use Wayward Wind either.

No, he uses Sora's Keyblade and Ventus' Keyblade. Anyways, this was answered by Flaming Lea, see above.

It's probably explained, but I can't remember the reason  :/ By the way, as far as I'm aware the Magic Mirror isn't an Unversed.

Magic Mirror isn't an Unversed, but the Spirit of the Magic Mirror was turned into an Unversed by the potion that The Queen broke on it. It says this in the Reports in BBS.

I'm making this list for my own personal use, and if others want to use it too, then they can. If you want a list of unanswered questions that "have value to them", then make one yourself. It's completely subjective what questions "have value to them" or not, so go and make a list of questions that you think "have value to them." This list I'm creating is just a list of unanswered questions. It's as simple as that. You're thinking to much of it.

Well, if your're waiting for all these canon answers to be spoonfed to you, then you're wasting you're time. Chances are the only answers we'll get are going to be regarding major plot points like what Kingdom Hearts really is, where Keyblades come from, the Sora/Ansem/data thing and the identities of the GoL and SoDI also have something for Sephiroth. Even if Nomura hadn't confirmed the KH 1 fight to be non-canon, they never introduced themselves, they just saw each other and fought, never learning each others names, and Sephiroth never even saw Donald or Goofy.

That's not the question though. The question is "why did the real Tron recognize Sora?", not "why did the copied Tron recognize Sora?"

Sore never met the real Tron. The real Tron has never met Sora, so why would he recognize Sora and know who Sora is if he's never met him before?
