There should be no more private events for kh3

Posted

because it just doesn't make sense. They know that most of the fanbase doesn't have the money to go to places so why should there be another kh3 trailer in a private event while the rest of the fanbase sits in the dark. It annoys me A little that SE acts like we, the kh fans, have the money to go anywhere in a flash :/

Yeah, you are right, I just expect an event like FFXV uncovered later on and live on YouTube

the only reason this is a problem is because of disney, they are the one keeping SE from releasing the trailers. so you can't get mad at SE for disney's mistakes.

I'm not mad at them. I'm just a little annoyed. There's a difference.

Still it's not their fault, probably if it was up to them they would just make it so the only thing you miss out on it the experience of the event it self, similar to how they did the 10th anniversary event.

My opinion: cancel 2.8 and finish making 3

well i guess it's their way of raising hype and interest in the game by putting on big events for the game.

and i'm sure SE doesn't think "Well we all know the KH fanbase doesn't have enough money for this special event. Maybe we should just cancel."

i'd say SE only focuses on that fact that we have money period, regardless of how much.

It'll be what it'll be I guess. I'd rather that they didn't make the content they show be exclusive to event attendees only rather than there not being special events at all. The treat should be that those who can pay to go get to see the trailers FIRST. As in there's a tiny bit of a wait period between the event premier and the online release of the trailer or footage for everyone else to see. The bulk of the price should really just go into the other activities of the event itself. As pissed as I was that I couldn't get those King Mickey disks at D23, I still felt that was kind of a fair thing since they went to the trouble of attending so the least they deserved was some kind of reward. I just hate that they made that the only time or place you could get them! And that's where my only real issue with the events lies, they hide everything they show there, especially the bits I personally care about, the early concepts and ideas portions. I wanted to see those things of Sora in Valor and Wisdom form or Sora in the chess room thing, but Disney for some reason or other wouldn't let Square send that out so we're left knowing less than some people out there. It's just more and more of this continuing trend I notice of some fans being treated more well than others, though I will grant that at least this time it's not dictated by region alone, literally anyone who could pay from anywhere in the world could have witnessed this stuff. So really it's just no more fair than not being able to go to a rock concert or something, but at least they eventually release albums of said concerts afterward so there's still plenty of reason to be annoyed at this. -3-""

Heavily disagree with that. At this stage it wouldn't really change or affect anything, it'd just make it so that you have less stuff to keep you busy before it comes out, there's no guarantee that would make them finish 3 any faster.

Plus, leaving loose ends are STUPID. They've made over 90% of the series HD by this point, may as well come full circle and freshen up the remaining titles before KH3 is ready to be released. It would seriously bug me too much if Dream Drop Distance and X never got some kind of HD treatment in any way before KH3 was released. What's another year to me when they're proceeding in a way that I prefer anyway? :P

Also, this has nothing to do with the topic of the conversation. :P

Now, SQEX know perfectly well how big the expectations are for KH3. They already have started the promoting of the series with the KH orchestra world tour so they are just getting started. They probably will have a huge event like Uncovered FFXV. Heck, they could already be planning out something huge already so just wait and see.

I think they are way beyond the point they can do that.

Well, I don't know about this.  I mean, on the one hand, we shouldn't be deprived from seeing these trailers that only the people that have gone to the private events have been able to see, but at the same time, since they've gone through the trouble of paying money to go to said events, well hey, they deserve a treat that no one else will get, ya know?  At least we've been getting trailers and information of the game at a steady pace, ya know?  I'm betting there will come a time, though, when there will be a total blowout of Kingdom Hearts III, and as such, any trailers, promotional material and other such things will be shown to everyone, and not just limited to a specific group of people, ya know?

Gahhh, I need more KHIII news! :

Sorry, I just felt like if the workers who are developing 2.8 stopped and started helping the workers working on 3, it would make 3 be completed sooner.

Also, sorry about the off topic post.  >.<

I thought they were like only 30-50% done with 2.8's development, my bad. -.-

Oh okay. What's nice about HD2.8 is 0.2 and χBC are one world long and an hour-ish long respectively so each can't take a boatload of time to consume for development. Plus, HD3D really needs revamped graphics and maybe a few scenes of new content if any so that isn't extremely time consuming either. The beauty here is HD2.8 will be out of the way long before KH3 is out.

It's okay, but sometimes that works, sometimes that doesn't. People who are working on different projects might be able to do things like share ideas or even offer feedback, but it might complicate things if they take a break from their main project to help out and work on another one that is still scheduled later no matter what. That's the thing about KH3, it's not taking this long because that's how long the development is (well, it's main reason, but...), it's also because Square has a schedule for when they plan to release it and their other games. That's why they're going ahead with the idea for yet another HD collection, because it fits well into their already decided timetable (remember that Nomura said that they already had a release date in mind) and they know that it won't interfere with production too much anyway. The sheer fact that they are making a 2.8 at all is enough of a sign for me that they are well on track with KH3, I mean, why else would you even bother anyway?

It's alright, it happens. :)

There's no need to be this apologetic, you're fine. You were just stating your opinion and then I stated mine. It's no big deal. I have no idea myself how much they've completed on 2.8, but I would wager that at the very least they are 50-90% done with it. I mean, if they plan to go with a 2016 release window for everybody, they would have to be, in fact 75-90% is typically the standard needed for things like E3 demos and the like. But I guess we'll see soon enough.

I really hope there are no more private events. I'm craving some KH news!
