I hope I can make something as special as Mystics' Overworld. Or something close to it, at least.

This is late, but... Overworld is special to me. It is one of now three roleplays I have ever truly finished in my years of roleplay, my years of making Characters and working with others. Overworld is the most special to me, because of the characters I've met, and with how my writing and my ability to mold a character who grows and becomes...better. I hope that, in Elrandir's sequel, that we meet again...and hopefully, we end with just as much happiness as now.

Okay, I am so embarrassed that I didnt realize this sooner but you know how the stained glass place is called 'Station of Awakening'? And where did Sora go when he used the 'Power of Waking'?! Station of Awakening ---- Power of Waking GOD DANG IT!! How did I not see that sooner?

What a journey it has been for all of us. I feel that this RP has made me a better writer, and always was an escape from the stress of reality. It has been fun RP’ing with all of those who participated. Here’s hoping our next adventures go well.

Truly, it has been an honour and a privilege to have participated in Overworld all the way to its completion. I've had my own moments, my failings, lessons learned, but it has been an overall amazing experience. And I cannot thank you enough for making it possible in the first place, Mystics. I love the subtle callbacks in these games and I wanted to start a thread to see if anybody had caught some that I haven't. The entire Dive to Heart in the tutorial mimics KH1's opening almost to a T with Sora's gestures. The only major differences are that Riku (when we see him in front of the wave) is replaced by a bright orb of light, and when Sora reaches the surface of the water, he is encountered by Kairi in KH1, whereas he sees the mysterious water Darkside in her place in KH3 (Kairi's name means water remember). I think this is Kairi's heart after she is struck down by Xehanort. Since she cannot produce a heartless, is why it is made of water instead of darkness. I can't take credit for this theory but I can't recall where I read it before either. Also the whole "hunting the lich to retrieve your friend's hearts" is definitely a callback to the world terminus area of End of the World in KH1. Same music, same idea. KH1 was my first Kingdom Hearts game when I was only 10 years old (25 now) and I've been in love with the series ever since. I beat it with my best friend who I don't get to see anymore. I remember when we finally beat Ansem after probably a hundred tries we were so overwhelmed with joy that I'm pretty sure we cried lol. It holds a special place in my heart and is my favorite game in the series, from a narrative standpoint (game play is a little outdated obviously). So all of the little KH1 callbacks really made this game special to me, and shows that they still care about the OG fans from back in the days of their humble beginnings. Sorry for the scatterbrained post, it's my first one on the forum. I tend to ramble lol.

Sitting around a fire, you and a bunch of Kingdom Hearts characters are sitting there, eating s'mores, and Sora pipes up, "Hey, let's tell stories!" Who would you think would be telling the best campfire story, one to shake you to your core?

A couple of quick notes: I am probably going to be running most of my characters in an NPC fashion, to focus more on the plot and your guys' characters. This won't really change much for you, though my posts may be in an odd format since I will be focusing primarily on your guys. Second, I will be giving Daruk, the Maester of the Ignis Court, over to Vaude to control. He is very good at playing this particular role, and I'm sure that he'll give our muscular Ignis Maester more justice than I could. Lastly, I'm working on combat rules between players as opposed to NPCs. Because guns are permitted in the RP there will have to be some limitations on this when fighting other players, though I am not sure what to place on this just yet. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I welcome you to bring them to the table. Otherwise I will see what I can come up with, or we can just handle it as it comes up. @Vaude, @Nero Kunivas, @Stardustblade358, @rikunobodyxiii, @Endless Thundaga, does Pali, Eleanor, Arkane, Gerik, or Morpha come from a lineage of Umbra mages? This will affect some things, so I was just curious to know how to set you up. I'm thinking that Gerik, Morpha, and Arkane do not given their backgrounds, but I just wanted to make sure. I know that Eclaire's mother comes from the Umbra Court @Saber Lily, so I am assuming that Eclaire does have a lineage from the Umbra mages. I saw your updates and it looks good! Thanks for the heads up! Accepted! Also, if you wanted you could have her interpreter be an NPC, so that way you don't have to create a full-fledged character for this person unless you choose to do so later down the road. Whichever works easiest for you. There is still room for another character, if you did want to add on another.

Nomura responding to a question about Xion's return by saying he will expand upon it in the DLC doesn't indicate she will be the central focus. I think it's more likely we'll be getting the final mix treatment. Limit Cut" sounds like it might mean Director's Cut, which would be additional scenes throughout the main story to flesh out the plot a bit more. We need more backstory on Scala, Xehanort, Eraqus, and their Master more than anything imo. Seeing as it is the end of Xehanort's arc, and everyone else's subplots can be explained in future games. This is it for Xehanort's story.

We all love Kingdom Hearts, otherwise we wouldn't be here! But all video games had to start from somewhere, and most games started off in arcades! Which arcade game from the "older days" is your favorite; one game that you can't help but run to when you get to an arcade?

Well, the events right now have prizes that aren't extremely necessary, so don't beat yourself up too much if you can't complete them. The expert level stuff usually requires extremely good medals with very specific traits. If you don't have ground def -60, for example, you won't do much against a lv. 5000 enemy. The reason for that is because your strength has to overpower their defense, and the only ways to do that are to have a high strength stat (primarily from your supernova medals), use all available buffs/debuffs (atk up for you, def down for them), and have either ground/air def -60 (depending on which type you're facing). If you're able to hit all of those points, it's hard to say why you wouldn't be completing the events. As for setup advice, you'll usually want to use Starlight, Stroke of Midnight, or Fairy Stars (make sure they're at or around lv. 35). Your buffer goes in the first slot, preferably something like SN KH3 Kairi or SN Xion. After that you'll want to follow up with damage-dealing medals that make up for any buffs/debuffs you haven't already covered (for example, the 2 I mentioned only do +12 PSM atk). You don't have to match your buffer medal to the slot multiplier (you don't have to put a power medal in a power slot, in other words), but you want to try and make sure all of your damage-dealing medals do match the keyblade slots. Your most powerful medal should go in your pet slot as that is the highest multiplier on any keyblade you use. Oh, and make sure you have a high subslot value (using those 7-star medals you mentioned).

I joined this RP when I found interest. I did not expect it to take us all into such an amazing emotional roller coaster, but I do not regret a single moment of it. This RP has ended up helping me in so many things; from stress, character development, writing, lessons made and learn. I will never forget this RP, nor any of you or your characters which all made this story so amazing from beginning to end. This is a story I will always remember, and I thank every single one of you for it. To our next RP, and to wherever the future takes us! Let's have fun guys!

Agreed! Thank you all! I am still slowly working on what is next. Hopefully I can make something out of those ideas as we continue to move forwards in the history of Overworld.

I for one agree entirely! Overworld has been a marvelous project for all of us, and I am proud to have been an instrument in its success. Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and boundless fun, everyone. It would not have been the same without you. As an old friend would say, " o7 ".

Since this is the official end of the RP I'm not in a huge hurry to wrap things up, so I am okay with waiting for a bit for you guys to finish writing your scenes if everyone agrees that this is the best course of action. I am thinking about possibilities for a future project, though I am not sure when I would start it up (and I don't think Overworld's closure will affect anything) I am, however, going to mark this RP as complete since it is essentially just pending final epilogues from characters. I can't believe that it is actually happening after all of this time. *sniff*. Goodbye, role-play.

how can anyone be hyped for KH3 knowing it's a continuation of Dream Drop Distance. i mean that alone sends up red flags for me. if anything i'm now more skeptical about it lol

Do Nomura's answers in this interview have to be delved into further?

When in The World that Never Was, Xemnas specifically said that, even though the original Organization members were meant to become vessels for Xehanort, some of them were not suitable for the task, because they were either traitors or not enough powerful. That practically means that we will never see Demyx again (as he was too weak), as well as Marluxia and Larxene (cause they were traitors), I have doubts on Luxord, too, but let's see what Nomura is up to (to me, one of them could also be Terranort, giving the good guys with the chance they were waiting for to bring him back... as Mickey said that the only one they still have to "find" is Terra himself ;D)

Still not impossible . . . Master Xehanort is very deceitful and might not even trust himself (which might have caused the destruction of the original Org. XIII)

I just thought about what Nomura said "There’s one more unsaid meaning behind deciding on ‘Distance’, and that is the distance between ’3D’ and the number 3 itself." that maight be saying there will be at least three more games before kingdom hearts 3

Yep, already suspected that Sora was experiencing Ven's feelings when Terra and Aqua 'appeared'. And on Vanitas, I'm going to take that as he's still around.
