Decided to continue on with the series of final battles for each game! So here is the one for 358/2 Days, with Roxas vs Xion!
  2. 5 points
We know ultimately that it’s all Three Terra, Aqua & Ventus. but Imo It’s Ventus. 1. the Game starts with Ventus as He Dives to the Heart (just like Sora and Roxas), and he’s mainly the Main controllable character in the Prologue. 2. Most artworks of BBS has Ventus sitting in the center 3. The story of Birth by Sleep is mostly about Xehanort wanting to forge The X-blade (Ventus) in order to take control of kingdom hearts. the only reason he even needs a younger body (Terra) is just to make sure he can see his plans come to fruition before his old body gives out. 4. Vanitas and the Unversed came from Ventus, Xehanort tasks Vanitas to spread his Unversed everywhere just to lure Ventus to the outside world, and it also forced Eraqus to send Terra and Aqua to the outside world as well. 5. Ventus has a big connection with Sora and Master Xehanort. 6. He’s at the center of every conflict, everyone is either after him or worried about him. Terra and Aqua trying to protect him, Eraqus is trying to dispose of him for the sake of the world, Xehanort wants him for his big plan, Vanitas wants to fuse with him to obtain the legendary χ-blade. 7. He saves worlds and many people on his journey, and he doesn’t leave any mess behind (similar to Aqua). 8. He Has the most epic flashy cinematic final boss battle among the Wayfinder trio. 9. His heroic sacrifice stopped the X-blade for good. 10. Ventus goes through character development and even faces his obstacles and conquers them, he faces Vanitas and succeeds in destroying the X-blade and ruins Xehanort’s plan (Terra meanwhile does also have some character development in his story, but he fails in conquering his obstacles and gets possessed by the villain and becomes the main antagonist of the Series. and Aqua is like the hero of the trio, but she doesn’t go through a clear character development until the sequel game 0.2, and also in her debuted game she like Terra, failed in conquering her obstacles cause she couldn’t save Ventus from the X-blade, and she let Xehanort roam free with Terra’s body)

    Favorite worlds for world design?

As the title says, what are your favorite worlds in terms of the design? Not factoring in story or characters, purely the environments you walk around in and sometimes interact with. Maybe it's just really fun to wander around in, or it's a faithful recreation of your favorite Disney film. Perhaps it's ambitious in terms of what you can do or how you move about. Dream Drop Distance is quite good at this, with the help of reality shifts. The Grid where you can manipulate coding (and the code that appears upon completion of the reality shift makes logical sense in computer terms), or Symphony of Sorcery's unique soundscape and the way Melody Catcher opens up new paths. Atlantica, mainly the first game is a world I admire the ambition in because while the underwater controls and combat aren't entirely intuitive, it's at least ambitious and makes the areas more three dimensional without resorting to platforming. Not to say that platforming is bad, but swimming offers variation. For sheer size and beauty, the Caribbean. It properly feels like exploration and you immerse yourself in the islands and the water. The islands are visually distinct, it's not the same basic asset copy and pasted for quantity over quality.

Wasn't sure if I had posted this here or not, but I don't believe I have. So here a piece I did of the Destiny Island trio!

I’m curious if you could pick any songs to add into Melody of Memory what songs would you choose? as much as I would like to add every song that wasn’t in the game, I’m only going to pick a few which would be: Face My Fears Sora’s Sacrifice ( I know it could be counted as another version of Simple and Clean but it still considered it’s own song) Hearts as One ( Again I know it’s just the Other Promise and Vector To The Heavens combined and both are already in the game but once again it still counts) What songs would everyone else pick?

    Encanto world

I just finished watching this film for the first time and I see massive potential in the concept of the magic being extinguished by the Abuela's misguided thirst for the protection of the magic creating and spreading stress, self-doubt and conformity throughout the Madrigal family. It's the perfect recipe for Unversed and the darkness that draws villains such as the organization and Maleficent and Pete (where the heck even are Maleficent and Pete? We didn't defeat them in KHII). Meeting Sora, someone who isn't a Modrigal, someone from another world who possesses a gift could add to Maribel's conflict about not having one and Bruno is even a possible character of interest for the foretellers who were hinted to possibly be the next big adversaries now that Xehanort has been defeated once and for all. The one thing about the film that bugged me was that we don't get an exact explanation as to the reason Mirabel was not given a gift but KH lore could fill that in. There is a subtle suggestion that she is a manifestation of the miracle so perhaps she could be a guardian of light or a princess of heart.

    KH3 HUD Icons Art

One of the many constants in the KH franchise has been the use of the head icons to represent the character you're playing as, along with your teammates. Up until 0.2 all of these head icons had come in the form of drawings, but this would change as the franchise moved onto new engines and evolved its overall style. Some really like the new and current 3D head icons, while others are sadden by the change. I personally don't mind the new take but kinda miss the old style as I felt it was part of giving KH its unique identity. As a fun exercise I thought it would be fun to try and use the KH3 concept art for Sora, Riku, and Kairi and turn them into head icons similar to the ones we used to get. As a fun bonus I also made one of Master Xehanort using one of BbS's promotional artworks as a base. I hope you enjoy, I sure had a lot of fun making them!

    How did Vanitas return?

They were able to bring Vantias weak heart back from the past and transfer it into a one of the Replica bodies. That's how Vantias was resurrected. However, Vantias said he was still weak and incomplete because he needed Ventus to whole again. Which is why he went to Monsteropolis to regain his strength back because the children's screams and fears help regain Vantias strength back, and reconstruct his heart. But Vantias said despite the children's negative emotion his heart was still incomplete.

    Favorite worlds for world design?

Going chronologically: KH1’s Hollow Bastion’s labyrinthine structure and puzzle mechanics stay with me even after 2 decades. Hard to beat. KH2’s environments aren’t particularly noteworthy, but Twilight Town and TWTNW absolutely nail a sense of place-making. They’re both highly believable and immersive locales. I would’ve liked to spend more time in them. Can’t say I remember BBS’s maps well enough, as I haven’t actually played it in some time. DDD’s Symphony of Sorcery may well be my favorite KH world in terms of design and mechanics. It’s an absolute joy to explore, and everything from the musical sound fx replacing normal attack fx, seamless integration of flowmotion into its vast and vertical environments, and the way new areas open make it pretty magical IMO. I also love DDD’s take on TWTNW, it’s so vast and surreal. KH3 - Toy Box takes the cake. Really imaginative, varied, makes you actually feel like a kid in a toy store. ReMind’s Scala also set a new marker for the franchise in terms of sandbox exploration IMO, though I feel like they could have done a little more with it mechanically. The traversal railways are really neat though. EDIT: I just remembered Space Paranoids, that definitely belongs here. The Grid is pretty rad too.

For original worlds, Radiant Garden is my comfort area. It like a "home world" and it's a staple of many games in the series. I don't think I'll ever find a fictional place that's more special to me. Of course I couldn't help but be disappointed in how little there was of it in KH3 though As for Disney world, I LOVE San Fransokyo, I loved the Big Hero 6 movie and it's characters, so being able to explore that world even though it was relatively small compared to other KH3 worlds was still amazing. The background music was pretty nifty too. The world was definitely one of my highlights of KH3. Honourable mention to the Timeless River, which is really neat. It was all done so well, from the design and execution of it, and all the lil scenes with Steamboat era Mickey and Pete, and how it flowed so well into the overarching story of KH. Also, "Monochrome Dreams" might be one of my favourite tracks ever. In fact I think Timeless River beats San Fransokyo now that I look at it Edit: After reading all of the other replies, it makes me love KH even more; everyone has favourite worlds for different reasons, but I think we can all agree every single one of them was special and awesome in their own way, as proven by the range of worlds and reasons people here listed as their favourites. KH worlds are the home to many irreplaceable memories and despite it's flaws I don't think you could find a more heart-warming, special series!

A Brand New Kingdom Hearts IV Trailer and a Release Date that's all i want.

I've been having a blast drawing Y!Xehanort recently. Even more so while I wait for the unknown date of it's update release of Dark Road. I may consider drawing something Xehanort related from the story that stood out to me and post it every week...maybe. We'll see how my energy will sustain itself. But something to keep me occupied. This scene stuck with me since I first watched it back in 2020. Even more so that it was the final nail in the coffin that made Y!Xehanort my favorite character in the series. It made me want to learn more about him and I want the update to get here sooner to finally have all the answers that I needed.

I love the entire series of Kingdom Hearts as a whole and throughout the entire series there have been moments that make me feel overwhelmed with happiness, moments that would make my heart ache with sadness, and moments that would shock me and fill me with so much intrigue. Despite my desire to list off all of the different amazing moments of Kingdom Hearts I will say that my one most fond memory of Kingdom Hearts would be the very end of my 100% playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 1 when I was collecting synthesis items to make the ultimate weapon and defeating waves of heartless to hit level 100 while listening to a playlist of different Kingdom Hearts original tracks, remixes, and covers. When I had first started Kingdom Hearts 1 I didn't really hate it but I also didn't consider it to be my favorite game and by the time I had reached this moment I had absolutely fallen in love with the game a thousand times over. To this day Kingdom Hearts 1 is still my favorite game of all time and I honestly don't think anything will ever top it. I'm so happy that I had decided to play through this series because it brought me so much joy.

While I could write an essay on why I love the series and what it means to me, instead I'm gonna focus on a few specific memories that really stand out. My first experience with the series was watching my older cousin play kh1. I was completely enthralled by all the characters and flashy gameplay and so I begged my mom to buy me a copy. We weren't able to afford much at the time so I had to go to my faithful video rental store and rent a copy for myself. Of course I wasn't able to finish the game in a few days since I was 6 or 7 so I had to wait months until my birthday before I had my own copy. Once my birthday rolled around, I still wasn't able to get it but my cousin gave me his copy (we played the entire day trying to do everything). Whenever I think of kh1 it brings me back to those warm summer days spent with my cousin. After that point, I was hooked. We didn't have internet or anything like that at my home for years and so anytime I was around a computer l, I was watching kh videos. Whether it was the openings, soundtracks, or the classic "kh3 trailers with box art", I watched it all. I also remember the first time I went to the beach and decided to make it a tradition to stand in the waves listening to dearly beloved (which I still do to this day haha). Another tradition I had during my time in school was playing through the kh2 prologue 7 days before school starting. I would play each day in real life and the game up until my "summer vacation was over". As I was writing this, more and more memories kept resurfacing. Long story short, I love this series beyond explanation and it provides me with so much nostalgia of happier days when everything was simple and clean. Thanks for reading.

Kingdom hearts itself is a memory for me. I played it during some hard times in my life and the idea of getting to play the game always made the struggles worth it. My favorite memory is using "Simple and Clean" to help ease my anxiety. Anytime I had an anxiety attack I just sang "regardless of warning the future doesn't scare me at all" and it helped ease my nerves.

I have been playing kh since it came out. Throughout the many years and many replays its hard to pinpoint a fond memory. If i had to it would be when kingdom hearts 2 came out. My mom got it for me as an Easter present and i knee she did so i begged her if i could play it early, just for a bit. She let me. I wound beating the game the day before easter. My mom not so pleased but she did rewrap the game and give it back to me. Also, I remember toting around my ps3 to play it at different houses. When the truth came out about roxas i was so sad for him. I went to softball practice and I remembered just standing on the field and just started crying over it. My team didnt get it, but it meant a lot to me. <3

That is the part that always bugged me about the timeline, until I finally found that basically the YX we see meet Ansem in DDD has the appeareance of Xehanort AFTER the main story of Dark Road (notice the hair bangs) compared to DR where in that same meeting Xehanort has his first hair style (let's call him Student Xehanort) So I spent a long time thinking that they actually meet twice, and the meeting in DDD takes place after the mains story of DR since we do see Student Xehanort sporting the hair bangs in the time skips, but apparently nope, the Xehanort in the DDD screenshot should've always been Student Xehanort, not enough time to do that extra model I guess (could've fixed for the HD and saved me a headache though!) But considering YX is supposed to be the correct model with the hair bangs (only the one in the cutscene above is wrong) Student Xehanort at Scala should NOT have experienced the events of DDD yet or YX in DDD and KH3 would have student's Xehanort hair, I think that when Ansem came back to "set him in the appointed path and gave him the ability to move through time" it was still a long while until he went on with the mission Ansem gave him, up until he already was studying darkness I think one day (after already growing into the age of Young Xehanort) the dormant memory/mission/piece of future Xehanort inside him just "awakened" and that's when he started recruiting the other selves, and probably got his Yellow Eyes (after the main story but before he is named master and recieves no name since he uses another keyblade in DDD and KH3) Another thing is I think the whole game was made to show the folly of blindy following a fate that wasn't meant for you, there are many clues that Xehanort was NOT the child of prophecy, or rather he could've been but failed Just because he can connect and feel others' hearts would mean that he is one, as Baldr also had that ability, and that's what caused his downfall To be precise, Xehanort doesn't "hail from the isles of destiny" yes, he spent his childhood there, but wasn't BORN there, he "hails" from Scala, this might be a nitpick if you think that because he lived 99% of his life in DI he hails from them but could also be taken as a clue that Blue Robe guy was trying to "force" the prophecy into being about him, which brings us to... Blue Robe guy expresses their own doubts about Xehanort being the child, at first he is all like "IT'S NO DOUBT YOU ARE IT" but by the end of the conversation he says it might be too soon (Xehanort is shown asleep by this point so he wouldn't hear that part And of course we have the hindsight of knowing what ends up being of Xehanort's life, he Blue Robe's words about how the Child of Destiny would be the one who can feel and connect with others' heart and become one with them, he kinda does that but in an evil way, using others hearts to manipulate them and even take over their bodies, he doesn't care about connecting with others, even in KH3 he is shown that he doesn't particularly care for the wellbeing of the people who are his vessels, he doesn't fight to defeat darkness but to manipulate it, while the true Child would be the one who actually connects with people, who accepts their hearts into himself and uses those connections to increase his power and the one who truly hails from destiny islands, fighting to keep the light safe and fend off darkness, Sora Going back to what I said before Xehanort COULD have been the child of prophecy but his destiny was altered, as you mention Blue Robe explains that he was taken to the islands to hide him from darkness until he was strong enough, but he only leaves the islands because Ansem appears and opens the portal to the other worlds, so we can't be sure that Xehanort was truly ready to leave the islands, that could've been the first step to have darkness be drawn to him and start his downfall (poison his heart as blue robe says it), Xehanort only knows that he is a special child destined for greatness so in his mind whatever path he takes must be the righteous one which eventually evolves into his complex of: "everyone else is weak, and those who think they are strong are faking it, only some people (me) are truly strong" "I've learned the reason for my existance" "the world needs someone to stand up and lead" Not to mention that I think MoM also kinda sabotaged Xehanort a little bit, I think he planed to have him be a vessel for the last remaining darkness that we now know must be out there, that's why he spured him into going out and see the world, to learn how to resist darkness with the coat and then outgrowing it, having him experience conflict the same way he did with the foretellers in UX, so that he would become the perfect bait for darkness to try to get inside him Would explain MoM's line of "a keyblade wielder willing to side with the darkness?????" he even says it in such a cheeky way, like he was taunting him, MoM's methods may be considered ruthless and too pragmatic but if there is one thing we know is that everything he does it in order to defeat the primordial darknesses, no matter what it takes, so him just being OK with a strong wielder like Xehanort to side with his true enemy, darkness, always seem weird....... that is, unless he wanted Xehanort to feel the need to understand and get closer to darkness so he could be the final vessel to hold them in place until they can be truly defeated, basically the goal of the next Saga

On October 10th, 2008, KH13 launched with the sole intention of uploading easily accessible high-quality cutscenes from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. And, while those humble beginnings did kickstart the website, KH13 eventually grew to tackle every facet of Kingdom Hearts, from news regarding video games to coverage on various forms of official merchandise. Now, KH13 boasts an immense, easy-to-navigate series of galleries housing several media such as official renders and artwork. Compiled interviews with series' staff members and timely news articles on the current state of affairs with the Kingdom Hearts franchise have also become embedded in KH13's identity. Scheduled events like the Fan Art Features, Polls of Week, and giveaways has bolstered our communication and connections with fellow Kingdom Hearts fans. Additionally, our consistent Birthday posts celebrating numerous franchise staff members and voice actors/actresses have aided in connecting the Kingdom Hearts community in ways I doubt anyone would have thought possible a mere decade ago. We have seen the Kingdom Hearts series grow considerably over the past few years. Kingdom Hearts III was finally released with the Re Mind DLC following only a year afterward. Melody of Memory was an unexpected sleeper hit that has helped prep us for the future with Re Mind's story. Next, Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] concluded after over 5 years of service. Then Kingdom Hearts Dark Road began and went into hiatus as suddenly as it was announced. Still, its conclusion is only a few months away. The Kingdom Hearts games made their way to the Xbox platforms and PC, with Nintendo Switch releases looming over the horizon. As a result, the series is growing more accessible than ever before, and while there are still steps that need to be taken, such as the Cloud Gaming controversy of the Switch ports, the fact remains that more fans than ever before will have access to the series. We can't forget to mention that Sora has recently joined Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a dream that many thought would simply remain that. A dream. Between that bombshell of an occurrence and the 20th anniversary of the franchise being only months away, the future will undoubtedly be full of equally colossal news, and we ask that you stick with us as we all greet it together. We want to thank Kimpchuu and Andrew Hankinson for all of the work they have put into creating custom graphics for us such as logos and banners! You can view some of the incredible logos they have made for us via our gallery below: KH13 has become the undeniable, go-to online locale for everything Kingdom Hearts-related, and we look forward to seeing it grow alongside all of you. On a personal note, while I have only been here for a few years, it's been a joyous time seeing both our community and the Kingdom Hearts series prosper with one another. KH13 has been here for 13 years, and despite this comical numeric tie-in with the Kingdom Hearts series itself, we have no intention of stopping our qualitative and consistent coverage. Regardless of the uncertainty a post-Kingdom Hearts III world once brought, the future is looking brighter than ever before, and we're eager to see it. Thank you for sticking with KH13 and here's to 13 more years! View full article

Personally speaking, I don't mind the fact that Sora saved her, Blank Points and the 0.2 both told us he would. My disappointment is really just how KH3 handled that plot. As a heads-up for anyone who really likes this plot as is, and may be sensitive to hearing a negative opinion on it, maybe don't read my comment any further. I'll be nice, but I don't want to chance ruining the scene for anyone. I already feel like the bad guy for saying the KH novels aren't canon. lol My problem is that Sora's and Aqua's interaction just felt very shallow to me. Early in KH3 they build up this plot point where Aqua can only be reached by someone she is very close to, and not even Mickey can help her here. This really sets-up a potential plot where Sora is able to reach Aqua either due to his strong connections to everyone, or because he possesses Ven's heart. Unfortunately, it felt like it never really considered either idea. I know this may be a nitpick on my end, as I'm aware KH3 had a lot of content to include and had to cut some corners, especially with their limited disc space, but I'm disappointed by the way Sora actually never cared about her in the game, up until he took her hand. Mickey, Riku, and Donald, all have points in the game where they express concern for the well-being of Aqua, Terra, and/or Ven. Sora, however, never expresses compassion for any of them, until after he saves Aqua. There are two times when Sora speaks up about saving her, but both of these are implied to be Ven's feelings, whether it's Ven's actual words or Sora reacting to his heart. There is a scene in the gummi ship where Sora has an outburst, saying they need to go to the Realm of Darkness, but the reasoning he gives is purely for manpower to combat the growing threat. This is very out-of-character for him, and generally makes him feel cold towards their situations. Then there's the part where Sora enters the RoD. When he sees Aqua, he really expresses nothing. He doesn't look surprised to see her, or confused about her transformation. He doesn't look concerned for her, and never even tries to speak with her. His only thought here seems to be saving Riku and Mickey, and you have to wonder if he's even aware of who he is fighting. He probably knows, but there's really no indication. After this, you just battle her. This is fine, I mean, it's a game, and that's what we do. But any personal feelings here feel like they're entirely atmospheric and based on the player's attachment to Aqua, while Sora is just kinda here and has no personal stake in the matter. Again, this may be a nitpick, but I don't understand why it was established that she could only be saved by someone close to her, and then you have her rescued by someone who felt so detached from her throughout this particular game. I understand her situation changed once she was no longer trapped within the water, but it felt like a back step. It really would've helped if they added anything to connect them in KH3, even just highlighting Sora frowning when he heard they couldn't find her, or him including her in his reasons to want to go to the RoD. It just felt like they decided long ago that Sora would save Aqua, but by KH3 they kinda forgot to really build towards that point until it was already time to save her. A little off-topic here, but I'll be forward with you: we're very big BbS trio fans. We adore them, and we wish Terra and Ven could've been involved in Aqua's rescue somehow, especially since they got her this far through the RoD. But our personal feelings aside, KH3 built on its own the idea that Ven would help rescue her. I'm not at all saying Ven should've just rescued her while Sora sat on the sidelines, but as I mentioned above, early game they established the idea that Aqua would have to be reached by someone very close to her, and in the same scene, Ven reacts within Sora. This happens twice, yet Ven is never indicated to actually help once they're in the RoD. It really gave the impression that Sora would be able to reach her since he carries Ven's heart, and would've been a good excuse for Sora himself to rescue her. Ven could've served as Sora's pathway to Aqua, but once he met with her, Sora himself could've done the actual saving. Maybe those scenes where Ven spoke up were only meant to tell you that he was ready to wake, but it feels like a missed opportunity or even a dropped plot line. Sorry for the rant. I really do like KH3 and I think it's a great game, but I still feel a little disappointed with some of its story decisions.
  25. 2 points
Hmm...I'm not sure Sora would be able to use it in those situations. The Power of Waking's main purpose is to awaken a sleeping heart, isn't it? And even if he did use it like that, he probably would disappear and go sailing into unreality.

Who knows? But for the last 8-10 years, we tend to get news related to Kingdom Hearts in the month of June around E3 (which has become a standard since the Kingdom Hearts III E3 announcement teaser in June 2013 and especially the KH3 Orchestra Trailer back in June 2017), during Tokyo Game Show in September and Jump Festa in December, so It's possible we might get an announcement trailer/teaser related to the next new KH game this year with a release in 2022, as next year is the 20th Anniversary of the first KH game and the Kingdom Hearts franchise as a whole. Whether it be around next month during E3 2021 which coincides around the time the final chapter of Union χ ends or during TGS 2021 is up in the air, but I wouldn't rule out KH related news completely. The ONLY times we didn't get KH-related news was back at E3 2011 (since they wanted to save most of Dream Drop Distance's info at TGS 2011) and especially TGS 2017 & Jump Festa 2018 (Due to the release of the D23 KH3 Toy Story Trailer back in July 2017 and we didn't get brand new KH news until D23 Japan 2018 in February 2018 7-8 months later). Plus, we usually get a new KH game every 1 to 2 years in between going by the release pattern of every KH title.

Sora's possibilities for Smash Ultimate are...up in the air at the moment, so I decided to do a hypothetical Challenger Pack for the Keyblade wielder. My only limitations was to not use any Disney characters other than Donald and Goofy. Moveset Stage: Station of Awakening Music Spirit Board Classic Mode: World Tour Mii Costumes Just to reiterate; this is purely hypothetical. I don't expect Sora in Ultimate, this is just something I did for fun.

A Restrospective of The Other Promise

Whether it's in the form of Roxas or The Other Promise, one thing is true-- if there's one theme in this franchise that everyone loves, it's this one. But what makes it work, and how do all the different versions across the years set each other apart? Who were the musicians besides Shimomura who contributed to building some of its most iconic renditions? What is the legacy of Roxas's theme when it comes to the music of Kingdom Hearts as a whole?Today, I'll be going through the answers to all of these different questions!

Thanks for letting me know about that @WakelessDream regarding spoilers on the Kingdom Hearts games and on films in general I greatly appreciate it. I agree the designer who made the Soul Keyblade really captured the themes and design found in the film. My favorite as you said it yourself is the Piano keys being the teeth of the keyblade, the hilt being the badges for the soul's characteristics and the Maple seed leaf that 22 in Joe's body discovered as the keychain. Just imagine the different Keyblades from the different Pixar worlds we may visit (e.g. Coco, Inside Out, Onward, etc.) in the next games, I imagine the Coco keyblade be based on Héctor's Guitar. Speaking of which a user made fan keyblades of Coco and Inside Out along with several others in the links down below: Coco's themed Keyblade. Inside Out themed Keyblade Fanart Keyblade Gallery 1 Fanart Keyblade Gallery 2 Finally regarding on Raya and the Last Dragon trailer, I agree while it's too early to know for sure how the film would work as a world until the film comes out next month, all I can is that as you said Sisu, the Land of Kumandra and Raya herself as a Party Member for Sora would make for a very awesome level for Kingdom Hearts. Speaking of Party members, I really hope we get more Female Party Members in Sora's party in the Disney worlds for the next games, because I’ve been noticing in the numbered KH titles we ONLY get one female Disney character in Sora’s party for the specific Disney world he visits, cause in the first Kingdom Hearts game it was Ariel, in Kingdom Hearts II we had Mulan and in Kingdom Hearts III it was Rapunzel (until her hair was cut) but for unknown reasons Go Go and Honey Lemon weren't included as party members for San Fransokyo. I do hope that Kingdom Hearts IV breaks the mold and brings in more female Disney characters in Sora's party such as Judy Hopps, Moana, Merida, Violet Parr, Helen Parr/Elasti Girl, Raya, Elsa, and Anna, instead of leaving it with just ONE female Disney character. But back on Raya as a party member I imagine her having a good dynamic with Sora and Co. and the sword (which also is an Urumi) can be an interesting weapon she uses in combat for short range and long range attacks, plus Imagine the teamup limit she would have with Sora. Regarding Sisu, I agree I can imagine her humorous and sassy attitude when she interacts with Sora, Donald and Goofy and be the next Disney character that will have fun interactions to the Trio after the Genie, Mushu and Olaf. The environment and lands of Kumandra as seen in the trailer would also be fun areas to explore, it just would all come down to how much of the world in terms of exploration would be explored, if it's different from the other Disney worlds (new and returning) in terms of environment and especially if Nomura and his team are interested on including the film as a world for the next numbered KH title (which I'm very confident it will be in KHIV for sure, no question). My biggest hope is that if the film becomes a world it doesn't suffer the same treatment as Arendelle and especially Kingdom of Corona from Kingdom Hearts III, but that would be a discussion on another topic.

Well, if the Dandelions and Union Leaders are the ancient masters, then I think that it would be safe to say that the stories of them vanishing did pass down since the stories of the ancient masters crossing over into another world would have most likely been about that. No matter who the ancient masters are though, I'm sure that some of the Dandelions or Union Leaders who made it back were the ones who told the stories since they would have been the only Keyblade wielders left that we know of who knew about what happened.

Well, the bosses in KHIII(for most people, I would say) weren't that hard so that's probably why they made Re:Mind harder. I don't have the Re:Mind DLC, but from what I've seen on Youtube, those bosses look super hard Definitely agree. All the character interactions between the Guardians of Light were stuffed at the end, most of them being super cringy and awkward. They probably didn't use the touchpad because it was releasing on Xbox as well, which doesn't have a touchpad. I agree there should be a full screen map like DDD, like, just having that small one on the top right corner isn't that useful.

If i respond on discord it shows up there right? lol For the doubles/triples, there's no sound indicator that makes it obvious when you should be doing them, it's just memorization(and sometimes cheesing it). The way I play blindfolded is just to play a song section by section until i memorize it all, then try to execute it properly with the blindfold on. For example I might play until the halfway point with the star targets, then restart the song a few times to memorize each segment up to that point, THEN blindfold and try to execute it up to that point. Then repeat the process for the second half of the song and then try doing it all together. As far as cheesing strats that work both with and without blindfold: if I have a section that I don't remember exactly but I know alternates between single/double, I'll just hit both shoulder buttons at the same time to the beat and it usually works lol. The only time it doesnt is if the notes are close enough together to mess up the next few notes with Misses. For example, in the ending of Vector I didn't remember the pattern exactly so I just mashed both shoulder buttons and got through it. But for All For One co op, me doing that in the middle segment messed things up bc it registered as me hitting the next note too soon you can watch my blindfolds on my youtube channel here: you can watch my blindfolds on my youtube channel here:

I know the discussion is through the main chat of Melody of Memory and this thread is predictable, but I want to create this thread on the worlds that will appear in the game, Melody of Memory. From what we know the game will have 47 worlds (31 Disney worlds and 16 original worlds) Confirmed: Disney: Wonderland Agrabah Olympus Coliseum Monstro Atlantica Halloween Town Neverland The Land of Dragons Beast's Castle Pride Lands Enchanted Dominion Disney Town Deep Space Country of the Musketeers Toy Box Arendelle Original Worlds: Destiny Islands Traverse Town Hollow Bastion End of the World Radiant Garden Keyblade Graveyard Castle Oblivion Twilight Town Mysterious Tower The World that Never Was Dive to the Heart Realm of Darkness/Dark World (0.2 BBS Destiny Islands section so far) Land of Departure The Final World So far 30 worlds confirmed and 17 remain so here are my likely obvious expectations for the remaining worlds:

Thank y'all as always for the kind words!! ? Yeah to be honest I really couldn't have cared less about Ansem SoD prior to KH3. But between the scene I highlighted and his acting like an agitated grandpa when Pence wouldn't get off his lawn, I came to appreciate him a lot more lol. I do think it's funny how Young Xehanort was just a jerk till the bitter end. For sure, I don't fault anyone at all for having mixed feelings about MX's end. I think it's probably smoother if they planned ahead a bit more and gave us a few more sympathetic scenes/character moments prior to KH3. But as I nod to in the vid, they really just kinda show us "Hey, he used to play chess as a lil boy! Isn't that nice??" And it's like well yes but also the murder...? I'm fine with the message, but the execution is admittedly lacking. Ultimately I think the scene ended up as high as it did because most KH scenes don't force me to confront like...morality ethics and philosophy lmao.

I heard about this but didn't think much of it at first. It sucks, but I'd rather have them lean on the side of caution rather than hold it prematurely and potentially put people at risk. Interestingly pushing it back to 2022 makes it coincide with the Kingdom Hearts series' 20th anniversary, so it would be cool if KH made an appearance there in some sort of way.

First off, thank you all for the kind words! I wavered on covering the Riku campaign in depth mostly because I felt like I didn't have too many outstanding points to make, positively or negatively, but I do have a scattershot of thoughts about it. The relative loneliness felt during Sora's campaign is ramped up to 11 in Riku's, and the game is definitely aware of that and references that in the Hollow Bastion floor. Considering Riku primarily interacts with villains both in the simulated worlds and in the CO interludes, it's that much more exciting and comforting to finally get to interact with a friendly character by way of Michael Mouse (also the first time we get to see him for more than a few seconds, which I feel is often overlooked.) Both Sora and Riku's campaigns are pretty introspective, but I think Riku's even more so. Sora is dealing with his own memory-related crisis, but not something he brought on to himself. Riku's campaign is the start of his attempt at seeking redemption and resolving his frankly self-inflicted crisis that he imposed on himself by giving into Ansem in KH1, due to his lust for power. Riku deals with Org members and his Ansem apparition, but he's also fighting a battle against his own demons, which I think is a natural progression for his type of character. The meat of Riku's campaign is funny in that it really is the recycled bits of already recycled material. Break KH1 down into Sora's CoM campaign, and then break Sora's CoM campaign down into Riku's. Having Riku exclusively fight the bosses through the Key to Beginnings is actually some decent story and gameplay integration, although your satisfaction with that may vary; just because these things integrate doesn't mean it's fun or super compelling. But yeah, having him only fight the villains to illustrate his ties to darkness is equal parts clever and a great cost-cutting measure. I know Riku's campaign is already considerably shorter than Sora's (which I never really minded, considering I actually had no idea it was coming despite my remark about his health bar during my video's cold open, and it was an awesome surprise when I first unlocked it) but it also doesn't make 100% sense contextually. It makes sense for Sora to revisit every KH1 world, since he's experiencing his memories (RIP Tarzan) but the same can't exactly be said for Riku. And I think the game knows this; the first batch of world cards you receive after HB are all worlds that Riku is physically seen in (sans HB itself and Destiny Islands). But you've got TT (from his meeting up with SDG in 3rd District), Agrabah (from kidnapping Jasmine), Monstro (messing around with Pinoke) and Neverland (being an asshole and creating shadow doppelgangers). Makes total sense to revisit these places. Idk why we're have him go to Wonderland, OC, Atlantica, and HT. But again, it's already so short, so cutting those doesn't leave you with much. Even if he had fleshed out stories in the first batch of worlds with all three Key cards, it's still quite short, but maybe that would've been fine. I'd rather it make sense than have more game to play, but that take may vary from player to player. Gameplay-wise, I'm pretty torn. Riku's playstyle is much more similar to something like a KH1 in that there isn't really any strategic deck-building to be done, and usually the answer to any battle is popping an Enemy Card with a good buff and just mashing. The duel system in specifically ReCoM is a great addition, and in fact it would've been nice to have in Sora's campaign as well. Although, the duel system usually does just amount to mashing, since actually shuffling through your deck to find the right card is liable to get ya killed. On a totally superficial, 3rd grader level, the addition of Dark Mode is SOOOOO cool. Wow. I was so hyped when I first got to whip out Dark Aura in 2004. It's not often that a game lets you essentially roleplay as one of the hardest bosses from the last installment and use his skills to devastate random enemies.

In a series of tweets on the Kingdom Hearts Dark Road Japanese and English Twitter accounts, 4 new characters have been revealed. These new characters are Bragi, Hermod, Urd, and Vor. They were teased in earlier artwork by Tetsuya Nomura. Each of the new characters have a reference to Nordic mythology. Continue reading below for a list of each of the connections we have. First, we have Urd. Urd comes from one of the Norns in Norse Mythology. The Norns in Norse mythology are female beings who rule the destiny of gods and men. Urðr (Wyrd), Verðandi and Skuld are the three most important of the Norns. Located at the well Urðarbrunnr beneath the Yggdrasil of Asgard, they spin threads of life, cut marks in the pole figures and measure people's destinies, which shows the fate of all human beings and gods. Norns are always present when a child is born and decide its fate. Hermod's name comes from Hermóðr. Hermóðr is the son of the all-father Odin and the Goddess Frigg. When Baldr was killed he was the only one brave enough to ride to Hel and try and bring Baldr back from the dead. Bragi's name comes from a God with the same name. Bragi is the God of both poetry and music in Norse mythology, he is the son of the God Odin and the giantess Gunnlod. He is known for his wisdom he is very creative with words and he also has the most knowledge of poems and songs. His name Bragi means “Poet”. Bragi has runes carved on his tongue. He is married to the beautiful Goddess of youth Iðunn, and they live together in Asgard. And finally, we have Vor, who is based on Vör. In Norse mythology, Vör is a goddess associated with wisdom. The name means “aware” or more specifically, "Knowledge out of Darkness". Vör was said to be very wise as she searched out all things so nothing was hidden from her. Vör also had the gift of Providence, and of preparing well for the future. I remember in Days, Riku was able to wield Oblivion keyblade in mission mode. It would be nice if he could wield Oblivion outside of his fight with Roxas and mission mode.

Speaking of killing Chaos, there's an interview with Nomura from Famitsu... First of all, it confirms that this IS some kind of isekai. Jack and the others aren't from this world. In fact, based on what Nomura says here, this isn't even really the world of FF1. It's just using FF1 as a "motif." So it's not a sequel or a remake or anything like that. imo, that makes me feel like it's not even really a reimagining. What does THIS mean??? Needless to say, I'm VERY familiar with the meaning of the name "Jack." I've thought about that one a little bit TOO much, even. But I can't say I know how it's connected to "Ash" and "Jed." At first, I thought he meant that they mean the same thing, but that doesn't make sense. I looked around to see if there are any other FF characters with those names, but... Nope. There are a few characters with names that can be shortened to "Ash", but there aren't any other Jeds. I'm really stumped... I have one friend who seemed really insistent that they figured out the meaning behind the name Jack and how it connects to the MoM's real name, but they said they couldn't explain right now, so... Alright. lol I'm skeptical, but curious to see what they think. edit: Is it just that they're "real names"? They aren't things like Xemnas, Xigbar, Vexen, Zexion, etc. He didn't come out and say that they're from the REAL world, but I think that's what he's suggesting. Prepare your butt for more people who look like other people, I guess. I just hope there are some girls. I'm still skeptical that this has anything to do with Kingdom Hearts, but Nomura's definitely pulling his usual mysterious nonsense. I really wish he'd just come straight out and tell us if it's related or not, like how he did with NEO TWEWY. lol Apparently this game is coming out next year, so at least we know we won't be waiting indefinitely to find out what this is all about. Anyway, I've been thinking about FFXIII. There's this one scene in Lightning Returns which is probably one of my favorite pieces of dialog ever. idk, I could just keep watching this forever. I love Caius/Yeul. lol Strong stuff. Corporate wants you to find the difference between these images. (They're the same image.) Lightning was dragged into Valhalla (the step before the Unseen Realm) by some of Yeul's chaos which had seeped out from the Unseen Realm. I mentioned the Darkside again before, but this is really what's selling me on the Darkside being from the MoM's darkness in Quadratum. I also had another thought that my friends seemed to enjoy. Remember this part of Demyx's character file? The MoM's phrase is a little different in Japanese, but I'm not sure if that should change how I interpret this... Like, what do YOU think would be guiding him? His key or his heart? The Japanese phrase sounds more like "May your key guide you as your heart desires." So it really goes either way, imo. But he DID forget the word, "key"... And we do have keyblades like the Master's Defender which are referred to as "guiding keys'... It also occurred to me that Demyx never really said that he wanted "friends" PLURAL. He may have been happy with just one. A friend. "Nakama ga hoshiikatta" could just be "I wanted a friend." *stares into the camera* We Are All Stupid. LOL (I can't help it. Personally, when I hear "nakama", I think of the crew from One Piece, so it's just naturally a plural-sounding word to me. But apparently I wasn't the only person who interpreted it that way. Can't wait to see what the Dark Horse translation will say.) After Luxu leaves with the box, the MoM says "You will become the key to everything." (Which the English version translated as "key to the future"... Uuughghghh... Please, someone stop them...) *puts on my shipping goggles and turns the focus to 200%* Luxu is the key? IS LUXU THE KEY DEMYX WAS FORGETTING???? THE ONE THAT WAS GUIDING HIM????? This series is so dang confusing, but when I focus on one thing at a time, it feels like I can see things really clearly. AM I RIGHT? THIS SOUNDS RIGHT TO ME. LOL I know that there are other ways to look at this. Like, maybe Demyx just forgot that he has a keyblade? But then I remember the fact that he knows the MoM's phrase and that sends me back in a loop. This would certainly be one way to unify every idea in Demyx's character file story. (If the No Name is the MoM's keyblade and not just Luxu's, then that could be two birds with one stone.) If I'm right about this, I simply want it to be on the record. lol I'm willing to sound like an obsessed shipper for one second if it means I'm going to be right later down the line. ?

    Which trio is your favorite?

Sora, Riku and Mickey is a strong contender if we're throwing wacky trios into the mix... Imagine the three of them though, they're pretty much canonically the strongest so imagine the havoc they could smite their enemies with if they formed a proper trio fighting together. And they all have great interactions with each other too. Another contender is Riku, Komory Bat and Meow Wow because who doesn't like best boy and his adorable pet-fighter things?? I'm addicted to playing as only them in KH MoM too.

    KH General Chat

I feel just the same, and it's a major reason why KH is my favorite video game franchise of all time. Even at its weakest, I don't think KH has ever truly let me down. Every game has something to offer and manages to stay fresh without reinventing the wheel. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but I can usually say with confidence that if the game has KH on the box, I'm in for a good time.

Time travel... I've never really given much thought about it. The rules of time travel in KH had confused me just as much as the whole datascape situation with KHUX to the point I wish they didn't introduce either. I would like to think teleportation (just mainly talking about the dark corridors and the portals Sora, Terra, Aqua, and Ven use when getting to Olympus and the ROD respectively.) deals with the person actually having a visual inside their mind of where they want to go (so basically they do know the place they are going to. Like how Sora was told to use his heart to guide him to Olympus in KH3.) Teleportation has, a lot of the time, been related with being able to bend or manipulate space which explains how Keyblade wielders are able to open corridors to space itself. It's of course like a door/gateway to space and other worlds, so why wouldn't a Keyblade be able to unlock it? Of course, I'm just spit-balling and talking out of my butt because things like this have always been kind of hard to rap your head around.
