Yoko Shimomura 30th Anniversary Orchestra Concert -Thanks Again!!- to be held October 19, 2019


To commemorate Kingdom Hearts series composer Yoko Shimomura's 30th Anniversary as a video game composer, Music 4Gamer has announced the Yoko Shimomura 30th Anniversary Orchestra Concert -Thanks Again!!- to be held October 19, 2019 at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo, Japan. 

While the set list will be announced at a later date, Yoko Shimomura 30th Anniversary Orchestra Concert -Thanks Again!!- will feature well known musical pieces Shimomura has composed throughout her career, performed by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and Tokyo Chorus. There will be an afternoon performance, held at 2:00 PM JST, and an evening performance held at 6:00 PM JST, with some songs differing between the two performances.Additionally, Yoko Shimomura will be appearing as a guest MC. 

Tickets can be reserved via a lottery system here starting  August 7. The prices are as follows:

  • SS Seat ¥12,800
  • S Seat ¥9,800
  • A Seat ¥7,800 

In addition to the Kingdom Hearts series, Yoko Shimomura has lent her talents to Street Fighter II, Parasite Eve, Final Fantasy XV, and more. Which Kingdom Hearts tracks would you like to make an appearance at this concert? Let us know in the comments below!

Personally, I'm doubtful of that. It's more about celebrating her career as a video game composer, which includes Kingdom Hearts, but also expands beyond it too. TGS would probably be a safer bet. xD

Aw dang, a concert dedicated to Yoko Shimomura! That's amazing! I sadly won't be able to attend, but all the positive vibes and congratulatory praise from my part I send to Ms. Shimomura! She's done such amazing work not only on the Kingdom Hearts series, but with every game she's been involved in! Kudos to her skill and epicness! :D
