Reversal

Because I need to stop going to certain places on the internet even though I know they're going to piss me off. But anyways, every so often during info droughts, I'd like to post up general questions surrounding a specific character, and ask for everyone's opinion on the matter. First was Repliku, so why don't we do Terra this time? I'll leave my opinion actually in the opening post this time
 
"Terra is stupid. He's a naive, gullible fool who believes anything people tell him even though you can tell just by their appearances that they're obviously not supposed to be trusted. Everything that happened to him was a result of his own foolish mistakes, and he damned the universe because of it. I hope he rots in video game hell."
 
That's a general summary of many people's opinion of Terra. Discuss?

tl;dr - He's made some mistakes in the past, mistakes that any of us could've, maybe even would've made, if we were in his shoes. It's not because he's an idiot, but considering what's he been through, I'd say it's perfectly excusable.

Xion would make more sense since the two actually had character development with each other, but it is selfcest.
 
Namine makes no sense to me. One minute she tells him he's not supposed to exist, a girl he's never even met, and the next they're all lovey-dovey and instantly an implied couple. You can also consider it incest since they technically are twins, born at the exact same time from the same person. I like Namine more than Xion, but her relationship with Roxas, especially the implied romantic one in the game, has no real support other than "oh our Somebodies love each other, so we should do."
 
That aside, I'd choose the RokuShi pairing.

Demyx = Edym (some kind of fresh water turtle)
Lurxord = Rould (=rolled, relating to his being a gambler)
Marluxia = Lumaria (a flower, obviously)
Larxene = Elenar (a lightning goddess o.O)

Because they fit each other, and because they appeal more as a couple. Being older also makes for a more believable relationship, and you can see that Aqua worries about Terra more than she does Ven. Worries = cares about him.
 
Let's use Kairi as an example of this. Her friendship with Riku, when he's in danger, she confidently believes that he's strong enough to take care of himself. Aqua, even though she knows that Terra is powerful in his own right, not just by physical strength alone, is still worried about his wellbeing as a person.
 
Just a few things I remember off the top of my head:
 
- There's her conversation with Eraqus at the beginning of the game where he first tells her to keep an eye on him, and she replies confidently that she believes in him.
- She worries about him on Destiny Islands, clutching her good luck charm and hopes they won't have to fight one another.
- Ven, giving them the passes to Disney Town after Scrooge tells him to "give them to his parents" ;D
- Terra, teasing Aqua for making the charms at the beginning of the game.
- The fact that they were together as fellow apprentices long before Ven joined them.

Riku has Apprentice Xehanort's heart within his own, but yeah, pretty much.

You know, after reading through the thread again, it's like some people are implying Riku can see through his eyelids.

But him opening his eye after lifting up the blindfold implies that they're closed with the blindfold on.
 
Riku has other senses he can use: scent, hearing, touch. Sight is overrated. Also, he has at least 10 years of combat experience. Even if most of it was just sparring with Sora, experience is experience.

He needed to double check, in case wearing the blindfold was making him see things. Think about it: Xion appears differently to whoever is looking at her. Considering the shock that Riku showed afterwards, it must've been pretty surprising.

It was actually when Roxas awakened from his long sleep.
 
Xion and Roxas are like two sides of a scale. As one gets stronger, the other weakens. Roxas had absorbed so much energy from Sora while he was asleep that the connection between him and Xion went out of balance, and she lost her Keyblade as a result of him getting stronger. After spending so much time with Roxas and using his Keyblade, she was once again able to replicate his power.

In the typical BBS fashion, I guess it would've been like:
 
- Terra arrives first and meets up with Triton. He goes off and does stuff on his own. Right before leaving, he is sighted by some sailors.
- Ven arrives second and meets up with Ariel. She gets into some danger with some Unversed, and he saves her. After that, he meets with Triton and asks if he's seen Terra, and after getting his answer, he leaves, but also happens to be sighted by the same sailors, and ends up leading them closer and closer to Atlantica.
- Aqua arrives last, and meets with the royal family in their play area (which is essentially a hidden cove if you haven't seen the movie). She leaves and swims around for a while and hears some screams, thereby returning back to the cove. Once there, she finds out what happened (the sailors crashed into the cove and ended up killing Ariel's mom or something). Triton, overcome with rage and sadness, ends up attracting this huge Unversed, and Aqua battles it. After that, he asks her to leave, and she does.
 
I dunno. It's just a quick scenario I thought of on a whim.

Atlantica actually had a lot of potential if it was included in BBS, what with Triton's rather cryptic lines in KH1 about wielders. Besides, Terra in merman form and Aqua in mermaid form would provide a ton of fanservice

Though Nomura already confirmed the character to be canon, and is a similar case to the Lingering Sentiment. Basically this secret boss exists at the time of BBS, but it makes no sense for him to be there at this time.
 
For example: it was totally obvious that LS was connected to Terra in some way. Back when KH2FM was first released, theories were flying everywhere that LS is Terra, yet just by looking at Xemnas, it makes no sense for Terra to be in the Keyblade Graveyard when he's supposed to be busy commanding the Organization.
 
Oh, and it can't be Xemnas because he hasn't been born yet.

Elsewhere. Not here. I just find it interesting how quickly he's gotten a fan name. It took a while longer to name the past mysterious figures though iirc, even though they were certainly simpler. Remember BHK or GEF? Good times, good times.

It's not that kind of sense of smell anyway; it's just the term they use for Riku being able to sense darkness in general. I mean, I think we all agree that "sensing darkness" is very commonly used and cliche :
 
But Riku has had at least 11 years of combat experience, skills that have been honed over time, even if most of it was just sparring with the other kids. He can probably hear their movement, feel the vibrations caused by them, that kind of stuff.

Just preorder the game. Doesn't need to be the bundle.

The period of Riku's absence? No, not at all. He was referring to say, Riku during KH1, helping Maleficent collect the princesses and searching for Kairi and Sora, or in Days, what he was doing asides from spying on the Organization, or even in KH2, all of his double agent stuff, his secret meetings with Axel and Namine, etc.
 
Hopefully. A lot of important stuff happened the year after BBS. We may have heard about it, but these are things that we're better off witnessing firsthand.

Sora's thoughts on Kairi = safe at home on the islands
Sora's thoughts on Riku = lost to the darkness/defeated/gone forever/dead

The Trinity Archives says it's Master Xehanort. Also, in the Japanese version, Terranort uses the general neutral "watashi" (which Master Xehanort uses) to refer to himself, instead of the more masculine "ore" (which Terra uses).

Terranort is Master Xehanort in control of Terra's body.
 

It's in Xion's character to be the perfect selfless angel. Even though she said that, she's still hurting due to being completely forgotten.
 
Which is why mending her hurt isn't the same as a physical return.
 
If everyone's hurts are mended, then Roxas will remember Xion, Xion will be remembered, and Namine will get a "Thank you" from Sora. No physical returns required.

It's obvious that Roxas has his heart even without that fact ever being officially stated. And no, it was never in two places at once.
