In April 2007 it was my b-day. I turned 11. I had just gotten a PS2 as my first ever console for Christmas. One of my friends got me KH2 as a present. I had never heard of Kingdom hearts before. When I saw Disney on the cover I was like "Yay, I love Disney!" I did't even see the 2 in the title so I just assumed it said Kingdom Hearts. Then I played it for about 2 hours, I only made it to Roxas's 2nd day. I couldn't understand the story at all. I then concluded that this would be another lame product by Disney similar to Disney channel shows intended to make money by marketing to teens.
So I didn't play the game for months. I eventually saw the side of the case that it was Kh2. Later when I was watching a YouTube video of another game, I saw a related video of the kh2 final mix fight with Marluxia. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen.
So I thought OK if I get through the intro I'll get to the good part. So in late 2007 I started playing KH2 again. At first I was like uh this intro is taking forever but as the days progressefld it began to get very interesting. By the time I got to play as Sora I was like wait what happened to Roxas. Great now I'm more interested in the main story than traveling to Disney worlds.
So it took me about 3 months to complete the game. 75% of the time I skipped cut scenes. When I was finished I felt like I didn't understand the story. So I played it again this time watching all cut scenes. But I still didn't completely understand. So I plagued it 5 more times before I understood that game's story. Then I knew that in order to understand the rest I would have to play the other Games in the series. Luckily for me back then there were only 2 other games and they both took place before this one.
And from then on to today I was a hardcore diehard Kingdom Hearts fan. -
No matter where you went on the internet these songs followed you everywhere
And if you were a KH fan, this also

I have seen the KHX movie in 2.8 but I haven't actually played any of the games. Is it necessary to play them(or watch a walkthrough) to understand the story of KH? Also I am aware that there is more than one of these games, do they tell the same story? And in which order should I play(watch) them?

If you ever have kids would you introduce them to the KH series or no?

I hate it when people say something along the lines of "Oh, I've played both Kingdom Hearts 1&2, so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to the Lore of the series."

Saw it before the game even came out

I just realized something. Riku is the only character in the entire series to appear in more than one scene in EVERY single Kingdom Hearts game.
-
And even after all that, you still weren't able to fight Marluxia.
Not in KH2

Remember how the letter Pluto had at the end of KH1 was never touched upon. I think I know why, it wasn't a real letter. Here's what I think happened. The last time we see Pluto with the gang in kh1 is when he is in traverse town. He is then seen again in that grassy field and shows up again in kh2 lost in the world that never was. After that we know what happens to him. In kh:coded we are shown that Pluto enters a corridor of darkness where a whistle is heard. Now we know from 358/2 days that the organization wanted Sora to lose his memories in castle oblivion so that he would never wake up. So now that they had Pluto they gave him a letter with a forged seal and sent him back to the realm of light to lead sora to CO. After Sora got close enough for Marluxia to lead him the rest of the way, Pluto was called back into the corridor and was trapped in TWTNW until Axel let him out after he went rogue.
That's my theory

Kingdom Hearts is probably the oldest game that I own, so I don't know much about games before that. But was it possible to skip cut scenes in video games in 2002? If so why on earth did the creators forget to put this feature in the first game? Can you imagine the conversation with this....
Nomura: Our new game is perfect there are almost no flaws
Guy: um, shouldn't we make it possible to skip cutscenes?
Nomura: But we want the player to be also focused on the story so that they don't accidentally skip and important plotscene.
Guy: OK maybe we can make cutscenes unskippable the first time but make it possible the second time the cut scene plays that way players won't be forced to watch the same scene over and over when they die in these super hard fights we've made
Nomura: Shut up I said the game is perfect!

I have never played a Final Fantasy game before, but if I ever decide to do so I'd like to know:
Is it necessary to play all the games to understand the whole story?
If the answer to the above question is no, please list all the FF games worth playing.
Are there spinoffs of certain numbered games that are required to be played to understand the story of the games?
Using the KH story as a standard, how convoluted are the stories in these games and will I have trouble following any of them?
Again using KH as a standard, how difficult or complex is the gameplay, and how similar is to the KH gameplay?
Finally, on average how long would it take to complete one of these games?

Whenever I watch cut scene movies of game remakes(such as 358/2 days or recoded) I usually play the movie but pause after cut scenes while also having a play through playlist open next to me. In order to understand the entire story I watch the cinematic cut scenes and pause to check the play through to see if there's any additional diologue or cut scene that they didn't add.
However I heard that with KH X back cover that the story of what you the player does isn't even mentioned in the game but is instead based on some other characters.
So for those of you who have played KHX back cover and already seen the movie online answer me this. Can I watch the entire movie without checking anything from the game its self and still get the full story?

Ok, I'll admit it. I'm only posting this just to pump up my video views. But, here is a compilation of all cutscenes from the entire KH series about Organization 13 in chronological order. I know this is something that many KH fans have been wanting to see so here it is.
Complete playlist here: Organization 13 complete Compilation clips - YouTube
PS. I just created these, and if anybody can give me a really great title for this series(the one I have is kinda lame) to make it trend quickly that would be great.

I've noticed that there is a lot of hate from the KH community in regards to the card gameplay in both versions of chain of memories. However the purpose of this thread is different.
I want all you to list and explain all the positive details about COM's gameplay in order to show how genius it really is.
