I would assume that that is because the American Dollar is worth.........(Less...more...no less...I should've taken economics)...I would assume it is because the American Dollar is worth a different amount than Brazilian Currency... It costs $1,800, but you get paid a lot more at work so it balances out.... otherwise that is just absurd!!

Well, several. And the fact it isn't produced in the country itself, it is imported and that bumps the price up already. Then it is saddled with several Taxes, then the Retailer may or may not add to it and there's a slight discount apparently but it still adds up to $1,800+.

So yes, it is absurd.
