I have always been a fan of the Monsters, Inc. films, so I'm glad to see Randall will be the world's Disney antagonist. I expected him to be, but wasn't sure. This is going to be awesome.

I mean he WAS in KH3D

This trailer has got me speculating like crazy! Also, great screenshots, this part of trailer really flew by.
 
I'm starting to think there's more to Aqua then what meets the eye. Yeah, we know she's become a vessel, but I'm starting to wonder if maybe she knew this tragic fate was going to happen to her. She's been stuck in the Realm of Darkness for a long time and it's definitely affected her. What if someone, likely powerful, pays her a visit and is there to "claim" her as a vessel? She fights them and ultimately loses, but before completely becoming a vessel and "succumbing to darkness", she somehow sends Eraqus's Keyblade to Destiny Islands. Like she makes a massive sacrifice. That'd be epic.
 
Sorry, really in the speculating mood. Also, I do hope we save Aqua. She doesn't deserve a fate this awful!

There's two ways of looking at this: the first, more obvious and noticed point is that it's Xion. The second, less obvious, more speculated point is that it's Aqua in a black coat. If you look closely they have the tanner skin, that's a common trait for Xehanort's vessels, but they all don't possess the exact same skin color. Also, their hair usually turns white or gray while this hair has the "Aquanort" color. Personally, I'm moreso leaning towards the fact that it's Xion, but it could also be Aqua. We all know how much Nomura loves playing with us and getting us to think.
 
If it's Xion, which once again, I believe it is, this would really be a big deal. We know that KH3 is all about saving those connected to Sora's heart or at least that's a major plot point. As we all know, Xion fades away in KHD, her death had a major impact on both the characters - her friends, and us - the fans. We know Sora's going to be trying to bring people back in KH3, and I hope our favorites do come back, but if Xion was saved so easily, her death would be almost pointless. If Xion ends up being a vessel, that still makes her death meaningful and impactful and it would weight heavily on both Roxas and Lea; it would also inspire and give Lea another reason to fight to save his beloved friends. Now, if she gets saved, which she likely will, her return will have been worth something.
 
Once again, if Xion is revealed to be a vessel, and I hope she will be, this is a huge deal and it'll have a major relevance in the story. Regardless, Nomura is going to be taking us on an emotional (both positive and negative) train ride no doubt.

To me, the FF characters play a small, yet relevant role in a much larger story. I hope this doesn't mean no more FF characters in KH though. I would honestly be disappointed. I enjoyed the scenes with the Hollow Bastion restoration group, the Cloud and Sephiroth story, as well as Zack's story. Fingers crossed that FF characters will still appear in KH games.

Well hey, from one Vanitas fan to another, I understand where you're coming from! Vanitas is one of my all time favorite villains in the series, despite getting little screen time! Now that we know he's one of the Seekers Of Darkness, it gives me hope that Kingdom Hearts III will flesh him out a bit more, and we'll get to see more of his personality besides the scheming and dark side of him! After all, he has to have a vulnerable side, ya know?
 
But yes, I'm really curious and hopeful that Vanitas has a future awaiting him beyond the Xehanort Saga! But I'm afraid that he might die in the final conflict...but here's crossing our fingers! X_X

I just want to thank you for acknowledging how big of a Vanitas fan I am. I really want to see him get more development, and I believe he would be the perfect anti-hero post-KH3.

Amen, words well spoken! And if Vanitas survives this whole ordeal, I'd definitely want to see more development on his character! I'm sure we'll get some good development in III, but I wanna see him become an anti-hero like Vegeta!

Is this even up for debate, haha? Of course I'm going to continue playing the KH series after KH3. I love it too much!

Square Enix blessed us with those trailers. I was so excited to see Monsters Inc. confirmed as a world, some more Corona gameplay, Rapunzel and Flynn, Vanitas and Marluxia's return, Utada Hikaru's new song, Riku and Mickey's new designs and their little scene... it was just so awesome! The hype continues!

Glad to see Nomura mention Terra, Ventus, Aqua and Roxas. I'm so looking forward to their return and what the future holds from them. Hopefully, this extends to Namine and Xion as well, because they also need happy endings. Regardless, KHIII is going to be PACKED with story. Who knew the slightest thing could hype me up!

Oh, if someone would rip the soundtrack, that will be golden! Because I gotta say, Back Cover's compositions were really top notch!

This is incredible! Truly remarkable! I'm actually surprised Luxu has an actual face, I mean I figured he did, because in some of his cutscenes with the Master of Masters their noses were visible. But wow! I'm blown away!
 
Now if only someone could rip the soundtrack! That'd be the icing on the cake.

You know, I'd definitely be down for this! I'm confident we'll get something big when February rolls around! Heck, maybe at Jump Festa there'll be a trailer revealing that a trailer will be unveiled at February's D23, kind of like how there was an Avengers: Infinity War tease on Youtube, and then the next day, the trailer itself debuted!

It's all good, I'm sure we'll see big things in February at D23.

"I Just Can't Wait To Be King" and "Be Prepared" from The Lion King have a special place in my heart. Then I again though, I also love a lot of the songs listed in the poll and beyond.

I actually find this a very intrestring idea of Strelizia being the first nobody! I also agree that the hooded person is Strelizia, you can clearly see red hair under the hood.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. But it seems as though Nomura was content to give us Back Cover as it is. Who knows? Maybe another installment could be in the works as DLC for 2.8! This means that all that would have to be done is simply create more cutscenes and add them to Back Cover, such as the Roxas vs. Xion fight was added to the Days cutscenes in 1.5+2.5! It's not impossible!

I feel like Back Cover was actually pretty good for the most part. I really liked that they touched upon the Foretellers and gave them unique personalities. I also really liked the comic relief with the Master of Masters. The soundtrack was also great, but only a few tracks have been uploaded somewhere from it.
 
Anyway...back the the point. The character development was pretty good. I wished they would've shown a little more of Ephemer and included Skuld in the mix. Perhaps, they should've waited to release Back Cover till post Union-Cross. It also would've given them the excuse to release 3D renders of the Dandelions and new Foretellers. Overall, I liked the movie, but felt like it was missing some tidbits here and there.

I assume this was done to make the distinction between Sora and Vanitas clear as day for the audience once he sheds his helmet for the first time. But I can also imagine him needing to support his heart of Darkness in a similar way Ven has to support his heart of Light so both of them don't fade. Through Ven's connection, Vanitas looks like Sora, but he himself didn't make the connection himself and not directly, maybe he has another, direct connection to Xehanort's heart to nurture his own broken piece of heart and that makes his eyes yellow.
 
Or Xehanort actually put a piece of his heart into Vanitas early on, after all, we don't see exactly when his eyes turned yellow and whether or not they were yellow from the beginning.

Every time Nomura releases a piece of artwork I am just left speechless! His style is so unique and I love it! I'm curious to see who's in the black coat, I can't really tell what gender they are. They look young and somewhat feminine though. I just hope it's either a KHx character or a new original character. I'd prefer it not be someone we already know from the modern era of KH. Ventus and Marluxia's somebody - Lauriam are enough. But man...this artwork is exciting!
