Raxaimus got a reaction from The Transcendent Key in Kingdom Hearts reference found within animated series "Archer"
Though finding a potential Kingdom Hearts reference in a closely related Disney/Pixar film is a treat in itself, finding an absolutely confirmed Kingdom Hearts reference within a completely unrelated animated series is something else entirely. Keen viewers of the Archer television series spotted a very well-hidden nod to Kingdom Hearts in season 2, episode 6, "Tragical History", which originally aired on March 3, 2011. In that episode, one of the main characters, Pam Poovey, can be seen holding a key ring with a Kingdom Key-shaped keychain partially visible in two shots.
In these shots, while the Keyblade's signature golden hilt is mostly obscured by Pam's hand, the key's teeth and their distinctive crown-shaped negative space are prominently displayed.
When fans brought this to the attention of the /r/ArcherFX subreddit, one of the show's production staff, going by the username Domirillo, responded, saying that while they are personally unfamiliar with Kingdom Hearts, the illustration file for the key ring prop confirms that the keychain was absolutely based on the Keyblade. KH13's own @HaakonHawk reached out for further information, and you can find a transcript of their conversation below.
This is quite an interesting place to find a reference to Kingdom Hearts! Have you found any other nods toward the series in other media, or are there some properties that you want a Kingdom Hearts reference to appear in? Let us know in the comments below!

Raxaimus got a reaction from EchoFox23* in Potential Kingdom Hearts reference found in Toy Story 4
With the inclusion of Pixar's Toy Story in Kingdom Hearts III, references to the Kingdom Hearts series may have found a new place to hide! Eagle-eyed Kingdom Hearts fans have noticed that some trailers and TV spots for the upcoming Toy Story 4 seem to contain a brief yet interesting homage.
During a scene where the toys are attempting to rescue Forky, a spork-based toy, from the local antique store, Buzz Lightyear ponders the idea of obtaining a key from one of the shop's employees. The key in question happens to bear a striking resemblance to Sora's signature Keyblade, the Kingdom Key. While the head of the key is almost a spitting image of the iconic sword, the teeth take a few creative liberties, lacking the distinctive crown shape of the Kingdom Key's teeth.
The staff of Pixar worked closely with Square Enix when Kingdom Hearts III was in development, so this may be a clever nod to their relationship.
Toy Story 4 begins playing in theaters tomorrow, on June 20th!
Do you think this key could be Toy Story 4's way of referencing Kingdom Hearts? What other types of references to the series would you like to see from Disney and Pixar? Have you found any other interesting nods toward the series? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments below!

Raxaimus got a reaction from The Transcendent Key in Do You Think Avengers: Endgame Will Be The Highest Grossing Film Of All Time?
I certainly believe it will. Considering how well Infinity War did, this only has the potential to surpass it. Combine that with the record-breaking ticket sales, and it's absolutely looking like their most profitable work yet. That said, in the future, I think they are bound to release a film that does even better at the box office, especially with the acquisition of the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. I think they've ended up proving that superhero fatigue isn't much of a threat, and long-form storytelling is likely going to be their goal for the next few phases, as well, so I don't think they are in any danger of losing steam any time soon.
I'm personally hoping for an adaptation of the Secret Wars storyline at some point in the upcoming phases, since that's an event on a similar scale to Civil War (both the comic and the film) and the Infinity storyline (mostly the two films, but also the comics). The big events are what get the most people into the theaters, so I am willing to bet that they won't break from the formula of releasing one every few years.
Along those same lines, I also wouldn't be disappointed by an adaptation of Secret Invasion, but given how Captain Marvel's version of the Skrulls ended up, it would take a lot of work in a setup film to get to that point.

    Hey Rax!
I definitely see that Kingdom Hearts News COULD dry up at a point, but With the success of KH3 and With Disney's powerhouse looming over Square, that may not be the case going forward!
I've already teased that I'm going to be diving more into Yugioh Content! Also various videos on a specific game, going forward is gonna be a lot of experiments!
LOL and not Really? It was more morbidly Ironic given how long he was sleeping but at the same time helps drive home the fact that he is finally awake.
    OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LOL
I've only had this happen VERY RARELY but I think it was the time Square Enix President Matsuda indirectly mentioned my in a Famitsu Article citing my "THANK YOU" Moment back in E3 2015

Raxaimus got a reaction from selfKaiHarness in Critical Mode is on its way to Kingdom Hearts III
In a brief statement to Game Informer during the 2019 Game Developers Conference, Kingdom Hearts series co-director Tai Yasue confirmed that the highly-anticipated Critical Mode would be coming to Kingdom Hearts III very soon. Curiously absent from Kingdom Hearts III at launch, the Critical Mode difficulty setting has been a staple for the series ever since its introduction in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, with its only other absences being Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and the original version of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.
Yasue stated that Critical Mode in Kingdom Hearts III would be more than just a value change, referring to the HP, MP, and damage output of Sora, his allies, and the game's various enemies. He also said that Critical Mode is "more technical and offensive," and will be geared toward those who are "good at action games" and "timing their attacks". He concluded this brief discussion by stating that the skill required will change the way that players will play the game.
What do you hope to see in this more extensively-adjusted Critical Mode? Will you be giving it a shot once it finally gets added to Kingdom Hearts III? Let us know in the comments below!

Raxaimus got a reaction from Tara St Michel in KH13 adds Twitch stream integration for anyone streaming a Kingdom Hearts game
We are pleased to reveal that a new feature has been added to KH13! Now, if a streamer links their Twitch account with their KH13 account and they are livestreaming any game in the Kingdom Hearts series, a link to their stream will appear in the sidebar of the site. This sidebar addition is located on the right-hand side, between the daily poll and the recently updated topics. It can be seen on the homepage, forum, and video archive.
For anyone interested in this feature, you will need to press the “Add Your Stream” button at the bottom of the stream list, and sign in with Twitch on the following page to link your accounts. Whenever you are streaming a Kingdom Hearts game, make sure to set the "Playing [X]" field of your Twitch stream to anything containing “Kingdom Hearts” (e.g. Kingdom Hearts HD II.8: Final Chapter Prologue) in order for your stream to appear. Otherwise, your stream will not show up in the list. Once your stream is in the list, your username, the viewer count, the game's title, and a snapshot of your stream will be shown.
You can view an example of this feature below, as KH13 staff member Toominator has linked his account and is live at the time of this article’s publication.

Whether you are attempting to beat a speedrun record or are enjoying a series recap, we hope to see plenty of fans streaming the series in the days leading up to Kingdom Hearts III’s release! Let us know your thoughts on this feature in the comments below!

Raxaimus got a reaction from Douglasitere in KH13.com launches public Discord server
Hello, everyone! The KH13 staff is very happy to announce the launch of our very own public Discord server! We recognize the immense value of live communication among online communities, and as a result, we came to the conclusion that a Discord server would be a perfect fit for users who prefer such an option. For you frequent forum users, please do not be worried; the forums will remain as well-supported and moderated as they have been for the past several years! This is simply being treated as another option for community members to interact with one another.

The server's various chat channels are divided in largely the same way as the forums, with Kingdom Hearts series discussion, memes, and fan art taking center stage. However, as with our forums, off-topic content and spoilers must be posted to their respective channels, in order to remain organized and allow newcomers to continue to enjoy the series unspoiled.

Unfortunately, due to the staff's existing duties, our current Discord moderation team is rather small as of the time of launch. As a result, we are seeking people who are willing and able to assist us in keeping our new server clean and safe for all Kingdom Hearts fans! If you would like to become a moderator of the KH13 Discord server, please use this form to apply for the position.

We hope that you enjoy our new Discord server, and everyone at KH13 looks forward to chatting with you!
