Deathscythe got a reaction from TrinityXaos# in Who is your favorite main character in The World Ends With You?
Neku for me, but honestly I feel like Shiki doesn't get enough love, both from fans and from Neo.

Deathscythe reacted to Kinode in Recreation of the KH4 trailer music!
Hey yall, I recreated the KH4 trailer music with some other musicians and thought you might enjoy it! It sounds super accurate to the real deal too! I know others have done their versions of this first, but I've really been working super hard for the last month to make sure it's the highest quality possible, so I'd really appreciate the support

Deathscythe reacted to Door_to_Light_95 in What is your favorite numbered title in the series?
My favorite numbered title in the series is Kingdom Hearts III. I am well aware that some people don’t like it, and I am well aware of their various reasons for not liking it. However, I disagree with most of those reasons. Even before the updates that added Critical Mode and the Re Mind DLC, I had an amazing time with Kingdom Hearts III. I think that at that point, Kingdom Hearts III was almost as amazing as Kingdom Hearts II, but just a little, tiny bit less amazing than Kingdom Hearts II because of the lack of difficulty options at the game’s launch in 2019. However, I’m really, really thankful for the amazing effort that the development team behind Kingdom Hearts III put forth to address some of the biggest complaints that some fans had after its launch. They certainly didn’t have to add or address anything, but they did because they care about pleasing as many of the fans as possible. As such, when the free update that added Critical Mode was added, I replayed through Kingdom Hearts III again, and I felt like there was finally an option for higher difficulty in the game. Don’t get me wrong, I sometimes play games on easy or normal mode as well so as not to stress myself out, but I am very glad that after this update the options of easy or hard were more readily available.
It’s really when they added the Re Mind DLC that Kingdom Hearts III actually managed to surpass Kingdom Hearts II for me. It wasn’t necessarily the extremely difficult bosses that made Kingdom Hearts III my new favorite (although that was a great addition in my opinion), but rather the added context, additional plot details, and even more story that took place after the end of the base game. What really solidified it for me was the very ending scene and Sora’s and Yozora’s final lines in the game which tied everything back to the very beginning. Particularly, “I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately. Like, is any of this for real or not.” Although that ending didn’t necessarily answer any burning questions, it was strangely satisfying and very beautiful. One of my favorite aspects of the Kingdom Hearts series is its frequent and unique style of beauty and inspiration. It’s something that’s really only found in Kingdom Hearts and a little bit in a select few other JRPGs. Once I had watched the ending scenes after the very last boss of the Re Mind DLC, that unique style of beauty was, to me, found stronger and more powerful than ever before in the series. So, as much as I love Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts III is now my new favorite in the series. Still, I really just love all of the Kingdom Hearts games. It’s difficult to order all of them from most favorite to least because in my opinion, they all have their pros and cons, and they’re all just really great games in general too. I love the entire series, but if I really have to pick just one as my very favorite, it would have to be Kingdom Hearts III.

Deathscythe got a reaction from Dustin Lübbers in [Theory] If Vanitas is one of the 13 Willful Darknesses that gained a physical form. What do you think the other 12 Darknesses would look like if they finally gained a physical form of their own?
It might be cool if the darknesses took the form of the animals the Foretellers wear costumes of. I wanna fight a big darkness bear.

Deathscythe reacted to Kinode in Xion's Theme is folk music: Here's why! (Video essay)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS9phkBXx5c
Xion's character isn't the only thing shaped by memories. The way her theme evolved and was shaped by different people as they showcased their interpretations of it reveals many things about the potential of fandom when it comes to the production of media and the learning of new skills, as well as leaving lasting impacts on listeners. How did the wish to participate in an on-going folk process of covers end up shaping the way "Vector to the Heavens" and "Musique pour la Tristesse de Xion" are perceived by general online audiences?
Been a while since I share anything here, but here's me sharing the current state of my research about Vector to the Heavens! This is... definitely a lot more academic than I'm used to, so I'm curious what you guys might think about it! I put a ton of love into the research, the editing, and everything else that went into this video. I hope it pays off!

Deathscythe got a reaction from Dustin Lübbers in Which member of the Destiny Islands Trio is most likely to survive a zombie apocalypse?
I mean, I would call what happened to Destiny Islands at the beginning of 1 an apocalypse, and Sora was the only one who really came out of that one unscathed (aside from his home getting destroyed, I guess).

Deathscythe reacted to Reversal in Let's address Terra's so called "stupidity"
Because I need to stop going to certain places on the internet even though I know they're going to piss me off. But anyways, every so often during info droughts, I'd like to post up general questions surrounding a specific character, and ask for everyone's opinion on the matter. First was Repliku, so why don't we do Terra this time? I'll leave my opinion actually in the opening post this time
"Terra is stupid. He's a naive, gullible fool who believes anything people tell him even though you can tell just by their appearances that they're obviously not supposed to be trusted. Everything that happened to him was a result of his own foolish mistakes, and he damned the universe because of it. I hope he rots in video game hell."
That's a general summary of many people's opinion of Terra. Discuss?
Just my opinion on the matter ;D
tl;dr - He's made some mistakes in the past, mistakes that any of us could've, maybe even would've made, if we were in his shoes. It's not because he's an idiot, but considering what's he been through, I'd say it's perfectly excusable.

Lost KH Orchestra track restored! Org. XIII - World Tour vers. -
Relive the magic of the omitted original tracks from the official Kingdom Hearts concerts, brought to life by the VGM and KH communities -- starting with the arrangement of Organization XIII from the World Tour Orchestra (originally arranged by Natsumi Kameoka)!
This project sparked up when I realized there were some pieces missing from the officially released albums for these concerts... Luckily, World of Tres has been fully documented as part of the KH3 DLC, but the World Tour and First Breath concerts both contain tracks that were essentially lost, with no clear, high quality recordings of the tracks. Much like my restoration of the Nameless Star track from MoM, I transcribed this arrangement by ear and gathered a group of musicians to try to recreate the magic of the original track in a new way!
The video will be premiering tonight at 9PM EST-- I know I promote my stuff here a lot but this project in particular is something I’m super proud of and truly turned out incredible, so I’d love it if you guys hit the reminder button in the video and tuned in to the premiere! See you there!

Deathscythe got a reaction from yamibakura in The Kingdom Hearts fanbase in a nutshell
If anything, I'd say it's the opposite for the first point. Even since the secret ending of KH1 people have been saying they should ditch the Disney and that the next game/part of the series will or should be entirely based in Square (which, thankfully, will almost never happen. All these original characters are technically OWNED by DIsney.) A lot of KH fans I've seen online actively dislike a lot of the Disney segments of the game. Your experience could be different though, I guess.

Deathscythe reacted to Kinode in Takeharu Ishimoto and TWEWY music x KH music
With the recent release of NEOTWEWY, I've been thiking a lot about how Ishimoto's music sounds different across different franchises, and why that might be- I've recorded a new episode of my podcast where I go over how Ishimoto went about making some of his music for NEO and share some very sincere opinions of whether I feel he is a good composer or not. Hopefully this video will show that while I am critical of Ishimoto, there is nothing wrong with enjoying his music, and why I think it's important to pay attention to where certain elements from people's music can originate from!

Deathscythe reacted to InnerLight13 in The Top 50 Songs in Kingdom Hearts (10-1)
Oh, thanks for following along! I’m glad you enjoyed the list. It was a fun one to think about and piece together!
Lazy Afternoons is such a distinct mood. Takes me back to summer days during simpler times. And Dive into the Heart is quite the experience. I think I actually like the first half a bit more as well. So eerie, and it gets me pumped for the mysteries ahead!

And the final (Maybe) in the series of pieces showing off the final battle of the mainline Kingdom Hearts games, we have Kingdom Hearts 3! Hope you all like it!

Deathscythe got a reaction from Double OKP in Which character(s) are you most excited for their future roles?
I think I'm most excited to see what Lauriam and Elrena are up to. They (or at least their Nobodies) are great!
-
Deathscythe reacted to Double OKP in Which side do you prefer heroes or villains?
Hmm...this is a super hard question! I find the Organization members very interesting and unique as villains; they all also have interesting backstories. The heroes, on the other hand, always have the weirdest and most awkward interactions and don't fit well together in my opinion. Judging them as a whole, I would prefer the villains, but judging them individually or by their respective small groups, I would prefer the heroes.

Deathscythe got a reaction from Double OKP in My thoughts on the theory of Brain being Eraqus's grandfather
I really hope he doesn't end up being Eraqus' grandpa. It would be super lame if it turned out that Ux all happened only like 120-ish years before the main story. Make it like 1000 years!!!

Deathscythe reacted to Double OKP in What is your least favorite thing in KHIII and/or Re:Mind?
Yeah, he was able to appear because they shared the paopu fruit, their destinies intertwining, right? I think it shows Kairi needs more training. She never was able to defeat a Xehanort without help. Next time she is up against a super boss, she better beat it by herself. Her character is just normally useless and weak, please Nomura-san, CAN'T YOU MAKE ME LOVE HER???
Totally agree. Especially the Re:Mind and KHMoM battle scenes, they were EPIC. Except they had a few awkward and completely unnecessary gestures(I'll be irritated by this forever lol), but it was much better.
Can there be a real death for once? Everyone keeps getting resurrected, it's just too much. They finally got two though, Eraqus and Xehanort, but that's it. Just TWO people. Not to mention that they were both previously resurrected. For some reason, Sora's resurrections are completely acceptable for me. I mean, killing him off would be terrible.
I wish Strelitzia's death is affirmative. Don't get me wrong, I love her character and would love to see a 3d model of her, but, another resurrection is going to be overboard.
I was really disappointed how the 13 SOD's didn't interact. It would've been really nice instead of just that one part where the 'four special ones' are discussing their plans and Xemnas saying mistranslated confusing "ancient Keyblade legacy" nonsense. Maybe we can get flashback interactions?(I think I'm being too hopeful)
The main cast really need more interactions. I can see improvement though from Re:Mind.
I really hope Kingdom Hearts improves in character interactions.

Deathscythe got a reaction from Double OKP in What is your least favorite thing in KHIII and/or Re:Mind?
A lot of the animations in cutscenes in the base KH3 are soooo bad, unnessecary and robotic looking. To me, they looked a lot better in Re: Mind and EVEN beter than that in MoM, probably cuz they had less cutscenes to work on so they could go ham with the ones they did have.
Story-wise, the replicas kind of annoy me. Like obviously it's nice to see the old anagonists and stuff, and I'm pumped that Roxas and Xion kind of have bodies now, but it's ineresting to imagine a world where the replicas were never introduced and Nomura had to deal with having """killed""" off a character a little more within the story.

Deathscythe reacted to Double OKP in What is your least favorite thing in KHIII and/or Re:Mind?
It's weird how after KHI, Sora, Riku, and Kairi aren't interacting much...together. They were supposed to be good friends in KHI, working together to build a raft to go sail away to other worlds. But after they got separated and reunited after KHII, there hasn't been a single moment where they were really a trio. If only Riku didn't befriend a certain mouse, then maybe they could have had more interactions(Disclaimer: I'm not saying I don't like Mickey/Riku relationship, I mean, it's great for Riku to have a friend, but it seems like the Sorikai trio broke into two duets, SoKai and Riku/Mickey)
I'm sure Kairi's going to get her moment, she's training with an actual Keyblade Master now instead of Merlin, who doesn't even wield a Keyblade. Kairi didn't have much experience with the Keyblade, she's not a complete pro, maybe that's why she couldn't defeat her memory of Xehanort(but then that makes me wonder how she defeated Xehanort with Sora in Re:Mind). If she doesn't get a big moment in KHIV/Quadratum/Verum Rex game, then everything is just a huge joke.

god I hope Demyx isn't the MoM

Deathscythe got a reaction from The Transcendent Key in Is Proud Mode worth it? (average player)
I found proud mode pretty doable until around mission 850 ish. Basically it makes it so you have to clear all the objectives at the same time and it makes it a big chore.
