TrinityXaos# got a reaction from Double OKP in Theory Essay: Yozora is using Riku as a Host
Yozora, the mystery man of the fictional “Verum Rex”, holds an appearance similar to Riku's. However, Yozora himself and the Nameless Star both have implied that he was originally a very different person in looks. So, why does Yozora look like Riku in Kingdom Hearts canon? Perhaps Yozora's heart has somehow found refuge in Riku's body? If Yozora is indeed inside Riku's body, then he maybe in control and carrying on Riku's mission.
When he first appeared in Kingdom Hearts III, he already had the Riku-like appearance in the promotional material for “Verum Rex”. He has this form again Secret Ending “Yozora”, when he was looking down on Riku. However, this was only a recurring dream Riku had as mentioned in the end of the Limit Cut episode. Finally, before you fight Yozora, he made a claim that the appearance he has was “not what [he] really looks like.” This is backed up by the Nameless Star's claim in her meeting with Sora:
“[Yozora's] been changed beyond recognition – his heart replaced with another's.”
If Yozora is inside Riku's body, it should not be surprising given previous cases of multiple hearts inside other people. Sora and Xehanort are the most well known in this field, only in different directions:  Sora has hearts inside him, while Xehanort put his heart or pieces of said heart inside others. Riku has also had a record of possession and hosting other hearts inside him; from Xehanort's Heartless possession of him in Kingdom Hearts I to Riku's Replica's heart residing with Riku during Kingdom Hearts III.
There also is a case of dominance, most cases of hosting don't have outside hearts possessing their hosts, like Sora's hearts. Hostile takeovers, however, tend to take control of the body or at least has some physical indicators. Either way, each method does hold influence to the host's physical or mental traits. Yozora may be a special case as he could be unintentionally in control of Riku's body because he has a stronger heart than the latter. The two may be exchanging influence on the other. While Yozora is the one acting for both of them, Riku could possibly be influencing Yozora's memories.
Not much is known to why Yozora wanted to “save Sora”, but it could be related to Riku's goal after Melody of Memories: finding and saving Sora in Unreality/Fiction. Yozora mentioned that he had wondered into the location where he would fight Sora by chance and was eventually told to “save Sora”. While most of his abilities and weapons are his own, the one skill Yozora has that could be from Riku: controlling Sora's Keyblade. In Kingdom Hearts I, Riku took temporary possession of Sora's Kingdom Key at Hollow Bastion. In his own boss battle with Sora, Yozora temporary steals Sora's Keyblade but it is absorbed and added onto his laser sword.
We may not know yet what happened to Yozora or whether he and Riku crossed before Yozora fought Sora or not. Due to their similar appearances, the clues to Yozora's current state, and the ability to use Sora's power briefly; it can be implied that they are connected to each other. Finally with the possibilities of heart and body possession, Yozora could be inside Riku's body. Only he is unintentionally the dominant heart. Yozora may ultimately be possessing Riku's body, but he is being influenced by Riku to reach the latter's goal of saving Sora.

TrinityXaos# got a reaction from Double OKP in Theory Essay: Yozora is using Riku as a Host
I'm not fully sure but the two realities, like the worlds, could be on different timelines. Riku may have ended up in Quadratum in an earlier time than when Verum Rex took place.
Some of the Kingdom Hearts community have found Yozora to be talller than Riku via Data Greeting photo comparisons. So Riku's body could have grown up to not only be Yozora's height but also his age by the time "Verum Rex" and Sora happened.
Not only that, time placement is tricky, as Union Cross started to show with Maleficent going back to the future of Kingdom Hearts II while Ventus somehow (via unknown means) ended up 4 years before Birth by Sleep.
Also, Dream Drop Distance played around with time displacement with the two Traverse Towns and the TWEWY cast. Some characters had more or less time than their partners once they were reunited. Of course, that is related to dreams, so this may subtract from my evidence.

TrinityXaos# reacted to BlackDandelion in M rated Kingdom hearts?
Just to get this out of the way this has nothing to do with romance or ships.  I don't care about any of that stuff and it's not the point of this thread.
Basically I'm wondering what the community would think about an M or a T rated kingdom hearts game/novel.  Obviously this will never actually happen, I'm asking the question because I'm wondering if people think the theme of the story would be enhanced as a result.  I think one of the things holding back the series thematically is darkness isn't really "dark".  "Nothingness" doesn't really feel like "nothingness".  It's easy for a game to highlight the goodness of "light" because we have the real world to compare it to, but darkness in the game is sort of underwhelming isnt it?  And the savagery of darkness (and light) isn't given much room to be explored.  As far as the light goes there is only the keyblade war and the scene where Eraqus tries to put down ven.
Because of the way the series is formatted, the few savage moments there are feel out of place.  What would otherwise be a bloody massacre instead amounts to just a large scale keyblade battle.  Strelitzias death, very sad, but its the only real death in the whole series that I can think of and it happens in a phone game.  you also have Xion, but she really just evaporates to rejoin Sora, and then she comes back in KH3.  There is no real savagery or weight behind these losses so the atmosphere of the worlds never really change.
On the other hand, you have this secret movie (at the end of kh2 i think?) that really highlights the desperation of terra, aqua, and ven and the savagery of xehanort.
Xehanort drops vens frozen body off a cliff.  In KH3 the most savage thing to happen is he strikes kairi once and she evaporates.  There has also been a huge issue in my opinion really showing 'worlds falling to darkness' and what that really means.  It seems to happen so frequently now that I find myself  just not caring, and maybe it should be feeling inevitable but there should still be some weight behind losing places that we've revisited many times.  KH3 did have some good moments, but they were also undermined within a couple hours of each other.  The desperation I felt in the first few games has been replaced with the sort of desperation I feel watching Goku fight anyone in Dragon Ball Z, knowing that all the characters can be revived using the dragon balls.
I've always felt like Kingdom Hearts is at it's best when the character's are struggling the most.  Stuff like aquas experience in 2.8, xion fighting roxas, the above graveyard battle, etc really contrasts with all the lighthearted disney worlds really well.  Unfortunately the way that a lot of these plot points get resolved has been through the power of friendship, or something like it - and it really undermines the character's struggle.  Aqua being returned to normal by Sora after years in the realm of darkness is a perfect example of this.  As far as we know right now her long inner struggle didn't even lead her to have any sort of revelation about the darkness.  Among the masters now, Riku alone is the only one who seems willing to use darkness which is sort of strange given all of their experiences.
There is plenty to say about the general writing and implementation of the Disney worlds, but all of that has been discussed a thousand times.  I'm also not suggesting that the disney worlds should be thrown away, I think they have their place in the story, I just think that the parts of the story that strictly deal with things unique to the Kingdom Hearts lore would be enhanced if it wasn't held back by the E rating.

TrinityXaos# reacted to Darkfire1408 in Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory logo found in Kingdom Hearts Dark Road website files
None of the other title logos have a mirror reflection of the text. This suggests the realm of death making a return. It's likely one of two things, the next big game where everyone's looking for Sora. Or the Disney + series in the works. Melody of memory suggests the episodes might be disconnected moments in the franchise rather than a narrative.

TrinityXaos# reacted to Leamax in Four new characters revealed for Kingdom Hearts Dark Road; more information coming June 10th
In a series of tweets on the Kingdom Hearts Dark Road Japanese and English Twitter accounts, 4 new characters have been revealed. These new characters are Bragi, Hermod, Urd, and Vor. They were teased in earlier artwork by Tetsuya Nomura.
Each of the new characters have a reference to Nordic mythology. Continue reading below for a list of each of the connections we have.
First, we have Urd. Urd comes from one of the Norns in Norse Mythology.
The Norns in Norse mythology are female beings who rule the destiny of gods and men.
Urðr (Wyrd), Verðandi and Skuld are the three most important of the Norns. Located at the well Urðarbrunnr beneath the Yggdrasil of Asgard, they spin threads of life, cut marks in the pole figures and measure people's destinies, which shows the fate of all human beings and gods. Norns are always present when a child is born and decide its fate.
    Hermod's name comes from Hermóðr.
Hermóðr is the son of the all-father Odin and the Goddess Frigg.
When Baldr was killed he was the only one brave enough to ride to Hel and try and bring Baldr back from the dead.
Bragi's name comes from a God with the same name.
Bragi is the God of both poetry and music in Norse mythology, he is the son of the God Odin and the giantess Gunnlod. He is known for his wisdom he is very creative with words
and he also has the most knowledge of poems and songs. His name Bragi means “Poet”. Bragi has runes carved on his tongue. He is married to the beautiful Goddess of youth Iðunn,
and they live together in Asgard.
And finally, we have Vor, who is based on Vör.
In Norse mythology, Vör is a goddess associated with wisdom.
The name means “aware” or more specifically, "Knowledge out of Darkness".
Vör was said to be very wise as she searched out all things so nothing was hidden from her. Vör also had the gift of Providence, and of preparing well for the future.

TrinityXaos# reacted to Allwil13 in Keyblade Graveyard Before the Keyblade War
Hey, guys. So I've been replaying Kingdom Hearts III and tonight I had a thought while I was doing the Union Cross segment (which is amazing). During this scene, I had a thought. I know that for a long time, there was a fan theory that the Keyblade Graveyard was the remains of Daybreak Town. But now that it's been confirmed that Scala Ad Caelum was constructed on top of the remains of Daybreak Town, that begs the question: if the Keyblade Graveyard isn't the remains of Daybreak Town, then what exactly is it? Unless I'm mistaken, we have no information on the purpose of this world before the Keyblade War. In fact, I imagine the world's original name isn't even "The Keyblade Graveyard" because the world existed before the actual war took place.
So what do you guys think? What was this world's purpose before the Keyblade War? Did people live there? The ruins and structures that we explore in Kingdom Hearts III make me think that yes, the world did have at least some inhabitants. And if it did, who were they? Will we learn more about the world's history and purpose before the Keyblade War in KHUX?

TrinityXaos# reacted to 2 quid is good in How can FF Characters be utilised in KH?
It is currently 11 pm and I wanna talk about this COnTrOvErSiAl topic
I hate that the mere act of talking about FF representation in KH is now a dumpster fire waiting to happen. It's incredibly stupid, that people have tried so hard to dismiss this topic, yet it remains to be the one problem that even some ardent KH3 fans will admit to sharing and that really pisses some allegedly "positive" people off. How dare fans enjoy something that has been a fairly large part of the main games!
I should probably make clear, I do include TWEWY as this, I suppose a better catch all term is SE characters. In my opinion, there's limitless potential for FF characters to appear in KH games, both previous and upcoming. Not only would some characters tie in brilliantly with Disney worlds (I can't really get over how well Zidane would fit in a King of Thieves Agrabah), but more of them can tie in even better to the main plot. And even if they don't tie into the main plot, KH2 has given sufficient setup for future games to take advantage of the FF crowd currently already in the series and give them their own sub plots. Pretty neat huh.
I've touched vaguely in plenty of other posts going back years now on this topic, almost all of which are along the lines of "Vaan in Treasure Planet!!!!!" however I recently played FF8 to the end for the first time, and there was something that really intrigued me. It wasn't Rinoa and her tease in the KH2 credits, but it was actually Squall's adoptive older sister Ellone.
In case you haven't played the game, let me give you a very brief and quite likely incorrect briefing on Ellone:
She was made an orphan at a very young age, raised by Squall's parents whom she referred to as uncle and auntie, kidnapped by oppressive forces who wanted to use her powers for their own ends, eventually sent to an orphanage along with Squall, said orphanage could not protect her for all that long and thus she was put on a ship for her own safety, with no way to contact her brother, and very little stability in her life at all.
Did I also mention, her powers are of the "affects memory" kind? Now who does that remind you of?
    Why it can only be:
Not only are the parallels between the two characters pretty great, but as Ellone is someone who's about a decade (well seeing as Namine's like 2 years old maybe two) older she could offer a lot to Namine in the way of mentorship, advice, or perhaps even just being a cute cameo if that's all it amounts to, but personally I believe there's a lot of depth here for a fleshed out relationship to be achieved.
What FF/SE character would you like to implement and how would it even work? Or would it just be a SQUEEE AURON type cameo? Both would be A okay with me, but there's one that I definitely prefer.

TrinityXaos# reacted to SweetYetSalty in Xehanort's Power to Create Copy Worlds
So in Toybox Young Xehanort created a copy world that separated Woody, Buzz, Ham, and Rex from Andy and a few of their other toy friends (like the ones that have license issues) and Sora and friends can only reach this one and never the other. I believe they said one of them is fake. That being said Xehanort used this to observe the toys and see how hearts work in the world. So the Organization can create copy worlds to observe things. Why didn't they do the same thing for the other worlds? Like if they are watching Rapunzel, Elsa, Anna, and looking for the black box and don't want Sora getting in the way, why not create a separate split world like they did in Toybox, one that Sora can't reach? This way they can do their work without having to blow Sora off snow mountains or put him to sleep unnecessarily.

And on the topic, why is it we never see Xehanort use this power again? That seems pretty OP to create a fake world. Is it like DiZ's data Twilight Town? I feel like this should be explained a little more and be put to more use. So many of the Organizations experiments happen off screen, but I feel this is a big one to overlook. What do you guys think? Is this something you think we should explore? Or is it just a game mechanic excuse to explain no humans and license toys in Toybox?

TrinityXaos# reacted to Archan in Am i the only one who would rather Verum Rex be its own game?
Dont get me wrong I love the disney side of KH it Wouldn't be the same without SDG Maleficent PeteHades the Mick and stuff but I think if Nomura is teasing his next game as Verum Rex Iwould really prefer it to not be a KH game  (Or at least not the one we are used to . Here are my reasons as a long  KH and Final Fantasy fan since I was a lil bern:
For those who are unaware Verum Rex is directly and aggressively based on Tetsuya Nomura's scrapped magnum opus of a game Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which he spent 7 years of his life working on.(the game was later reworked into the game Final Fantasy XV under Hajime Tabata). Yozora in appearance resembles the earliest version of Noctis from the first Versus trailers and his and Noctis Caelum's names mean the same thing. There's two guys fighting with him in the Toybox trailer who are spitting images of Versus Prompto and Ignis, and a heroine almost identical to Stella Nox-Fleuret, a main character and Noctis' love interest/Rival who was completely cut from the story after it was reworked from the ground up by Tabata for XV. If that wasn't obvious enough, in the secret movie of KH3 the beginning chords of an all new version of Somnus plays- Somnus a song composed by Yoko Shimomura with the lyrics written by Nomura himself is the main menu theme of FFXV and the Main Theme of Versus XIII. So while Nomura made it clear in an interview that Verum Rex is not 1:1 the exact same as Versus XIII, he has made it pretty clear its as close to Vs XIII and its original plan as possible - that it is basically Versus XIII Reborn. And to me as a long time fan is hype as sh*@ and super exciting basically a video game miracle
But it also makes me wish it wasn't a KH game ...
Versus XIII from the get go was going to be dark, even for a Final Fantasy game. It had blood, Shakespeare, politics, tragedy, betrayal, the world of the dead, grim reapers,   lovecraft, horror, different moralities clashing (One of the taglines of the game was "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so" making it in a way very different to KH). The game was essentially going to be MA15+ Kingdom Hearts - the same gameplay style and feel but without any Disney red tape or PG rating to hold Nomura back from the mature themes and deep character relations he'd wanted to put into Kingdom Hearts from the beginning.
Nomura has made a comment on this before, in an interview he said "for a long time I have been working in a world (Kingdom Hearts) where everyone is good natured and good to each other and there is no evil, perhaps I have spent too long in such a world ". He is clearly talking about wanting to make a game like KH without the PG or Disney limitations, he wants to make Versus XIII .A big thing people have wanted since at least KH2 was "What if there was a game like KH but with an original story like Roxas' summer break for the WHOLE GAME from start to finish?" I remember literally discussing this with a friends back in 2006 lol. I dont really keep up with fan discussion much now but it seems to me a lot of peoples sentiments are the same, people are super excited by the new ReMind dlc trailer, and nothing in that trailer was Disney. I love Disney in KH but people have wanted for over a decade for a KH like game without the huge Disney part and the ability to go just beyond the usual PG age restriction, where Nomura could have free reign to go no holds barred berserk in his crazy ideas and story for the game. That was where Versus XIII came in. A dark Shakespearean tragedy with themes of Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet  and an eerie world that crossed fantasy with reality. Noctis in Versus as opposed to Noctis in FFXV who is just Naruto in Sasukes' body, was the polar opposite of Sora. Sora was a wild child who lived on an island . Noctis was a silent prince who lived in a castle. Sora is quick to help others whilst Noctis was cold and cared only for his close friends .
Nomura said the theme of the Secret Ending is "Rebirth". If Verum Rex is really the Rebirth of Versus XIII, then I would really like for it to be its own IP maybe with some KH crossovers or at least a KH game with less Disney influence, Irespect many would disagree but I would personally think it a lost opportunity to bring back  the spirit and original story of the Game that Never Was only to water it down for  the PG rating and shorten it immensely to fit in an un related romp through Arendelle and Moana  or something

Hello there everyone, I hope that you've all been doing okay! Good gracious, it's been quite some time since I posted a topic here! And for that matter, it's been forever since I logged online!
I gotta say, life has kept me busy over the past year! I've been doing a lot better when it comes to financial stability, though I'm not where I want to be at just yet! But hey, with hard work and perseverance, these things will come little by little! But yes, this year has been a great one, and it's been one of growth and also of hardships. I've had many ups and just as many downs, but through it all, I've been pushing forward, thanks to God, my cherished loved ones and the hobbies I love. Thanks to all these things, I've been able to keep myself sane!
Kingdom Hearts III was everything I wanted it to be and more, and with Re:Mind coming next year, it'll only make my love for the game increase tenfold! Avengers: Endgame was the satisfying conclusion to the Infinity Saga and the first ten years of the MCU! Fairy Tail ended its run, and on quite a high note, I might add! Toy Story 4 delivered some heavy feels with Woody's farewell to Buzz and the gang, and with going to see The Rise Of Skywalker possibly tomorrow, I'll have finished the Skywalker Saga that I grew up with since childhood! This has been a year of endings for many beloved things in pop culture, and I'm so lucky and blessed to be there as the end comes for so many beloved stories! Some of them luckily continue going, while others are definitively over. It's just been a blast!
And well, even though I scarcely log on here, I've been keeping up with the fantastic articles put up by the KH13 Team, and I thank you for that! I really wish I could be online more, but adulting is a lot more difficult in practice, ya know? But still, my love for this site shall always remain, and as long as I'm a KH fan, which is pretty much for all time, I'll always love this site! So thank you for being here for all this time!
I hope you all had yourselves a Merry Christmas!

The extras shown included a “Greeting Data” mode-Photo Mod where you can choose a location setting, characters, items, and sfx and create a diorama with it and take screenshots. The “Slide Show” mode then let’s you put those screenshots to music in a slideshow.
The “Premium Menu” mode has two parts: “Fastpass” allows you to go into your menu at what looks like any moment and change settings so you’re overpowered. In contrast, the “Black Code” allows you to tweak things and make them ridiculously hard (like blocking healing, etc).

TrinityXaos# reacted to Dagesh Lene in The Difficulties of Writing a Story (KH3 Edition)
Not long after I finished Kingdom Hearts III, I made a post on this site called "Rewriting the Story of Kingdom Hearts III [SPOILERS]".  I am not the only person who made content like this, and even if people didn't post their own versions of the story, many of them did talk about how they would change certain parts of the story.  I was originally planning on releasing a "Final Mix" of my original post after I played the Re:Mind DLC, but I decided not to do that anymore for two reasons.
First, looking back on the story of the game, there isn't much I didn't like about the story except for Sora fading away at the end of the game.  The cliffhanger ending combined with the foreshadowing for the next saga really made it seem like this wasn't a finale but just another game in a larger story.  I have since made peace with the fact that Sora faded away, especially after seeing that it was foreshadowed since the beginning of the game when Xigbar appeared before Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Hercules in Olympus.  So, while I am still not a fan of the large amount of foreshadowing for the next saga, there wasn't really any major story beats that I would change outside of when they happen in the game.
Second, I don't think many people fully understand how difficult it is to write a story.  Rewriting a story using the power of hindsight is much easier than writing a story from scratch.  When you rewrite a story using hindsight, you use a story that has already been written and alter the parts that didn't work while keeping the story as close to the original as possible.  You are able to do this because you know what parts of the story worked and what parts didn't based on how the audience responded to the story.  However, when you write a story from scratch, you don't have the benefit of knowing what parts of the story worked and what parts didn't.  You have to guess what the audience will like while also telling the story you want to tell, and you have to find the right balance between the two.
In conclusion, writing a story is hard, and acting as if you could do it better isn't giving Nomura the credit he deserves.  In fact, Nomura himself revealed to us how hard it was to write the Keyblade War scenes in Kingdom Hearts III.  Writing a story isn't as easy as asking yourself, "What would please people the most?" and writing that.  You definitely should keep in mind what will please your audience the most, but knowing what that is isn't as easy as it sounds, especially since you will never know for sure how your audience will react until you release your story.  This isn't to say you should never be critical of someone's story and give suggestions for improvement.  People will never learn if all you do is praise them.  And there probably are people out there who could write better stories.  However, acting as though writing a story that would make your audience happy is easy is not realizing just how difficult writing a story that pleases your audience can be.

I can read some of Verum Rex’s details on the back. Not sure if anyone cares, but here’s what was there:
    ·         “That’s the story of the King of Truth. RECLAIM YOUR HEART.”
    ·         “After a long fight(?), weapons have brought great benefits for humanity. But the “KARMA” that sleeps in humans will accelerate further. In the light of the warhead(?) in the night sky, they chose to fight while feeling the pain of their hearts…”
    ·         “WHAT IS ETERNAL BOND.”
    ·         “Required capacity: 45 GB or more”
    ·         “Main Character Design: Tetsuya Nomura”
    ·         “This software is exclusively for PLAY PLUS”
Strange thing is that the image screenshots on the back didn't show any of the characters (Yozora, Magia, Aegis, and the woman). Just the city, a ship, and some Gigas.

Did you complete The Caribbean world before fighting Dark Baymax? If not, then that's what you will have to do next before you can move onto the Dark World.

Kingdom Hearts 3 has me in a lot of areas:
-Sora does manage to ask Zeus to train for his powers back, but they can’t because of Hades’ attack. So Zeus, having known about the legend of the Keyblade War, is able to give Sora most of his power back, but changed so that Drives are linked to Keyblade Transformations (also, this is when Sora gets his new outfit).
-Dream Eaters are the main enemy of Toy Box, which turns out to be an artificial Sleeping World created using power from the Realm of Sleep. Young Xehanort does this as an experiment to see if even dreams can have a heart (which will lead to the Organization’s 13th darkness).
-Unversed are the main enemy of Arendelle, attracted by Elsa’s fear of hurting those around her. Eventually, it’s discovered that she’s a unique Princess of Heart that holsters an equal heart of both light and darkness.
