  1. It would be awesome if it would be a thing. If it does, then I wonder how each route in the game can get adapted into the anime
  2. This has been bothering me for quite a while since some of my favorite video game/visual novel series have gotten animated but were unfortunately rushed for some reason. Corpse Party: Tortured Souls, for example, is an 4 episode OVA anime based off the first game of the series. It was okay, but it's no doubt that it was rushed. The Steins;Gate anime, on the other hand, was adapted so well into an anime that people weren't required to play the game in order to understand the story.
  3. Ok. So I heard that there will be a sixth Naruto movie, BUT THIS IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! SASUKE IS NOT NICE, AND HINATA IS SHY, NOT A SLUT! T_T Wtf is going on... "Also known as Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Road to Ninja, Naruto Shippuden Movie 6, among others, Road to Ninja is the 9th movie overall in the Naruto series. It will debut in Japanese theaters July 28, 2012. Naruto’s creator, Masashi Kishimoto will be personally involved with the movie. We hope to have more details as they are released! It will be released in theaters in Japan on July 28, 2012. Series creator Masashi Kishimoto is responsible for both the film’s script and character designs. The film is set in an alternate reality of the Naruto universe in which Naruto never lost his parents and the masked villain, Tobi, carries out his plan to rule the world by shrouding it in illusions." Oh... That's why. WAIT! WHY CAN'T THEY JUST STICK WITH THE ORIGINAL STORY INSTEAD OF DOING SOME MATRIX SHIT?!
  4. Note:If an official thread has already been made for this, notify me then merge it with the original thread if there is one I've noticed a severe lack of Jojo here over at KH13 so I thought y'know what?We need an official thread for anything and everything Jojo Couple of rules though: 1\When discussing parts of the manga, remember to put spoilers on crucial endgame moments 2\Be respectful during discussions 3\DO A JOJO POSE(just kidding) There will be an additional extra rule added when an adaptation of future parts get announced but I'll save that for another time
  5. Now that the first anime episode of DragonBall Super has aired, I hearby open this official discussion thread. Here, we can talk about the anime, the manga, or any other related Super topics. With that said, if none of you have read the first manga chapter, then feel free to take a look here. Now then, for my thoughts on the first anime episode:
  6. I haven't seen any threads made to discuss Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, the most recent Yu-Gi-Oh! series, so I thought I'd go on ahead and do it myself. To be completely honest with you people, I am thoroughly enjoying this series so far, and I only see better things to come in the future. Yuya Sakaki is probably one of the better protagonists of the franchise (better than how Yuma started out, that's for sure. ). And I also love how they have just about every type of Summoning Method possible (Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz and Pendulum) which provides a little continuity and allusion to previous series. All in all, the series has heaps of potential. And before you go and say "Oh, Arc-V is crap. They're milking out the series way too much," just stop right there and give it a chance. If you have seen a little and you still don't like it? Okay then. Fair enough. Although I think this might be the last Yu-Gi-Oh! series we'll see, just because it gives that feeling of bringing everything together from the previous installments. And yes I'll admit, it does look a little "kiddish" but believe me, it's actually impressive. Even the plot is a little confusing. Okay then. Discuss. Peace!
  7. Naruto is one of my hands down favorite anime/manga out there! Above all else in the series, my favorite group is the Uchiha Clan. The abilities of the Sharingan seem limitless, and as we watch the series progress, we see more and more abilities uncovered. One of my favorites being the Susanoo, the trump card of those who have unlocked the Mangekyou Sharingan. I have many tattoo ideas, and one of them that i want to do, is an Uchiha/Susanoo sleeve. That idea lead me to create this in Photoshop. I didn't put quite as much effort as i could have (kind of just threw something together for the sake of making something) and this is not how i want the tattoo to actually look like, but it still came out looking cool, and i figured i'd share it with any other fans out there! Feel free to comment your opinions on the Uchiha clan, and/or any artwork you may have done regarding the Naruto series!
  8. Fire Force (also known by its original title En En no Shōbōtai ("Fire Brigade of Flames")) is the newest manga series by Soul Eater creator Atsushi Okubo currently published by Kodansha and serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. In a nutshell: "... set in a world where humans spontaneously ignite and turn into flaming demon-like creatures, a disease most feared and known by the name "Human Body Ignition Phenomenon". Enter Shinra Kusakabe, a boy with the ability to ignite at his own will, who joins the 8th Special Fire Brigade of Tokyo to fight the Flame Humans, achieve his goal of becoming a hero, and to uncover the truth behind his family's death." And before you ask, no, I just don't like this manga because it involves fire powers, you f*cking racist. Now I've been reading this since it first came out sometime in 2015, and personally, so far it hasn't grabbed me as much as Soul Eater did, but you know what, it's still Okubo, so if you like his style, this manga will interest you. It's got fun characters, well drawn fight scenes, and it's even got a little bit of that dark, gothic/horror-ish element that Soul Eater, though not quite as much. There's also more of a focus on religion too, which is a little ironic for me given I'm agnostic, but hey, it doesn't really hamper my experience, and if you're into that, it'll just make yours even better. Hopefully. So yeah, if you've read it, cool, let's get to discussin', if not, then I don't blame you because I feel like I'm the only one who's even heard of this outside the people that responded to the thread I made about it way way way back when. 10. Honestly, is there no other anime site other than kissanime that will allow you to watch englished dubbed anime? As much as I DON'T want to use kissanime, I may end up using it because of this Also, I think crunchroll used to let free users watch english dubbed anime for free because I remember I used that site to watch the english dubbed version of the danganropa the animation. Why don't they let us now?
  11. I'm going to post a list here at the bottom of this post. It's a long list. A list of sites you can watch anime LEGALLY. Sites that support the show you are watching. Concerning kissanime, that site does not support the creators of the shows you watch. If everyone were to use kissanime the anime creators wouldn't get the the income they need to make more. They don't make anime to keep us happy and entertained for free out of the kindness of their hearts, though that would be grand. Saying you don't want to sit through ads either is nothing short of entitled. This post is mainly for the American viewers who have NO excuse not to use these sites. Of course some of the sites I posted are available in multiple countries as well. Heck, Crunchyroll is as low as $7 or $8 a month. And if I may be frank, if you can't round up $8 a month then I think you have bigger concerns then where to watch your anime.
  12. Since I just finished re-watching Digimon and I'm feeling (more than) slightly nostalgic, I thought it'd be fun to create a poll like this. It's only for the first series, so no 02 characters, sorry. I might do another poll for them when I finish watching it. ^^ Mine has to be Yamato, although when I was little I preferred Takeru (and Hikari when she came along). I never really considered Yamato as one of my favorites, so it was surprising to see how much I related to him this time around. Also, he was probably one of the characters who had most character development, although to be fair I think all the characters were pretty three-dimensional (except for Hikari, sadly, though I think she'll get more development in 02).
  13. Anyone watch this masterpiece?? OH MY GOD IT WAS BEAUTIFULLLL surprised to not see a post about it on here. discuss the movie/praise for the movie down below

  15. I might try and start Hunter X Hunter and I'm not too sure what I'm getting into here but I'm interested and I was wondering if I should watch the 2011 version first or the 1999 version. I saw online that I should watch both and I might if I like it enough but which should I start with?
  16. https://youtu.be/0cSru30RCWs Oh my God, FINALLY!! I've been waiting for this to happen for at least a whole year now, ever since I finished the original DBZ! This has to be my most favorite arc out of the whole series, I absolutely love Super Buu as a villain and can't wait to hear if they get Justin Cook to come back and reprise his role (I mean, I think he voiced him in both Xenoverse games, so odds are high for that). It's great to hear Kyle Hebert as Gohan again as well, and Sean Shemel is in top form as ever. This might not have been one of the most exciting scenes to use as a preview, but fans aught to know by know what's in store with that arc so I think this is fitting enough as a "get ready to hop back on board the Kai train" kind of trailer. I mean, this is the first time I've ever been this excited about a tournament arc before, and it's one I've already seen before. Anyway, it sounds like it's following the pattern most people have been theorizing for a while now, Toonami is going to start airing the new dubbed episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters every Saturday starting on 1/7/17 at Midnight ET, or roughly 9:00 PM for us West-coasters. They aught to be wrapping up the Cell Games arc any weekend now, so it's perfect timing to pick up viewership in anticipation for Funimation's eventual release of their dub for Dragon Ball Super, which takes place almost directly after DBZ's main events. I got to tell you guys, I'm excited. I started marathoning the whole Dragon Ball series some time last year and just caught up roughly around the first half of the Fall semester this year, and I've been pretty inclusive so far. Everything from the original Dragon Ball, to the original Dragon Ball Z (I believe it was the blu-ray version on some website that's having technical issues now, so I won't bother linking it), all of the Dragon Ball and DBZ movies save the two most recent ones (saving that for right before Super), Dragon Ball GT (YES, I watched it, it was "okay", it's a thing that exists, it'd be a disgrace to the franchise as a whole to NOT watch it, get over it), and finally watching all of DBZ Kai that was released so far. It's been the wait for the Final Chapters that has been keeping me from watching Super so far, because while I have technically seen the end of DBZ already, the point of me watching Kai last was to kind of refresh my experience with Z so that by the time I finally watch Super it will all feel fresh...plus I absolutely love the Buu saga so I'm gonna let that be my grand finale damn it! Once that is finally caught up, I'll watch the Battle and Resurrection movies and odds are by then the first few episodes of Funimation's DB Super dub will be up so I'll have that to jump right in and binge to my inner-weeb's content. So, anyone else excited by this? For the past two years it's been nothing but Funimation either saying "no, not yet" or "no comment" while most of the voice actors have been saying "yeah we basically finished work on this months ago", and now we finally have something concrete to be hyped over? Anyone else been looking forward to the arc that got a lot of Millenials into the original series in the first place?
  17. This is the official thread for the upcoming 2015 anime Digimon Adventure Tri. And here we have the official look of the cast of Digimon Adventure Tri! I love their design! They look familiar but I can't put my finger on it.
  18. After several months of rumors, speculation, and other similar postings, we have confirmation from the Naruto/Boruto stage event at Jump Festa that Masashi Kishimoto, the original author of the Naruto manga, will be involved in the production of the upcoming live action Naruto movie. As a reminder: the film will be directed by Michael Gracey, director for the upcoming film The Greatest Showman, with production by Avi and Ari Arad of Arad Productions and is being overseen by Erik Feig, Geoff Shaveitz and Kelly O'Malley. Now, in general, American films based on anime have a bit of a, let's say, difficult reputation in the eyes of Western anime fans. As a fan of DragonBall, I know first hand what it's like to see one of your favorite properties be turned into a movie only for it to become something like DragonBall: Evolution, a movie that, to put it nicely, was... not good. But, the fact that it's official that the original author has signed on to help with the film is at the very least a good sign. This at least promises that he'll have some input towards making the film and that his presence guarantees that at least someone behind-the-scenes will be working to keep the original source material in mind when making the film. Of course, what it doesn't guarantee is that his involvement will have any lasting results as, unfortunately, a source creator can easily have their say denied in favor of Hollywood's own personal agenda. For those who don't know, that actually happened with Akira Toriyama and DragonBall: Evolution. He wasn't directly involved in the production, but he still sent in a script to FOX to use for the movie, and they outright rejected in favor of the script that you see being played out in the actual film. But I would also like to stress that anime films don't necessarily have to be bad by design. Yes, we've gotten some stinkers in the past, but we shouldn't cast judgement right away. Edge of Tomorrow, a film based off All You Need Is Kill and starring Tom Cruise was well received, and we still the Ghost In The Shell film starring Scarlett Johansson set to premiere next year and despite some controversy about casting, that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be a good film. So basically what I'm saying is not to be too optimistic nor too pessimistic either. We should just wait and see what the final result is.
  19. Why yes, you did read the title correctly. Info from an article by Crunchyroll: Shueisha's Shōnen Jump Plus digital manga magazine began publishing a brand new DragonBall spin off manga entitled "Dragon Ball Gaiden: Tensei-shitara Yamcha Datta Ken" (or in English: "Dragon Ball Side Story: The Case of Being Reincarnated as Yamcha"). Also important: this manga is illustrated by fan artist DragonGarowLee, famous in the DragonBall community for his unofficial DragonBall x One Punch Man crossover stories, including a work where he pit Saitama against Vegeta. The manga centers around a perverted high school student from the real world who suddenly finds himself reincarnated in the body of Yamcha from the DragonBall series. Being a fan of DragonBall and aware of Yamcha's role in the series as "Ultimate Chewtoy For Life", he uses his knowledge of future events to his advantage and sets out on a quest to make himself, as Yamcha, the strongest character possible. You can read the first chapter here, but of course, it is in entirely in Japanese with no apparent signs of a fan translation or an English release as of this time. But even without words, it's pretty easy to figure out what's going on. Quick note before I go on: I made a thread a while back about Shuiesha opening a new DragonBall department, and I suspect this new project may be connected to that, but I can't confirm otherwise. Also, if you don't follow DragonBall Super, the recent episode was heavily Yamcha centered as it was a comedy filler about baseball, so that might have something to do with it too. Anyways, the manga: This is, by far, the most entertaining and hilariously awesome idea I've seen since... well, the DragonBall Super baseball episode. Yamcha has become such a joke character (and I mean that in the nicest of ways) that even Japan recognizes how much comedy material they can crank out of him with things such as the "Saibaiman Pose" becoming a trademark merch seller as well as the aforementioned DBS episode. And quite frankly: it works. Very well. If you're a fan of Yamcha (if that's even possible... I kid, I kid), I highly recommend you check this out. It's a bit of a stretch in terms of actual storytelling, but it's also obviously a tongue-in-cheek take on the character and his progression through the original storyline, so I think it's worth a few laughs just based on the premise alone. Also, I'm totally behind the idea of more fan artists being called on by Shuiesha to do official DragonBall work ala Toyotaro and the DragonBall Super manga and everything else he's done. UPDATE: According to this tweet from @Herms98 (aka Herms from Kanzenshuu), DragonGarowLee himself has stated that this manga will last 3 chapters.
  20. the OVA is so much more interesting than I expected.
  21. I have recently taken an interest in the anime Ringing Bell/Chirin no Suzu. When I found out that it was based on a children's book written by the creator of the contrastly upbeat Anpanman, I had to check it out. Unfortunately as with my understanding of the Japanese dub of the Kingdom Hearts series, I could understand little of it, and the illustrations tell only half the story. To make a long story short, could anyone translate it for me? Here's the link to the book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSH8_XFFM-A
  22. Why they won't give the IP to Trigger is beyond me. What are your thoughts on what this image may be? Update:https://twitter.com/GAINAX_WEST/status/802149505923616769
