  1. Oh dear god this anime. I think it's traumatized me, it covers so so many mature themes; abduction, murder, death, child abuse, depression. What do you guys think about this anime?
  2. An article by ShonenGameZ.com has reported that Warner Entertainment Japan has uploaded a PV for an upcoming anime series based on a manga written by the author ONE, now most notably known for being the creator of "One-Punch Man". The article reads here and the trailer can be seen below: ShonenGameZ.com has also provided a legible synopsis of the series: The studio behind this anime is BONES who will attempt to stay true to the aesthetic of the original manga while also putting their own unique spin on it. Personally, I'm very interested by the concept of this show, if only because I found One-Punch Man (the anime) extremely disappointing and even though this is by the same author, it seems to have a lot more heart and ingenuity thrown into it.
  3. Yeah, there was a Facebook announcement on this already, and I even commented on it, but screw it, this is straight from the people who basically own Adult Swim so it takes precedence and dammit, I'M the one who loves Toonami on this site, I wanna be the first to talk about crap like this. Although to be fair, this is more about Toonami in general than FLCL but please, read on. The Turner Broadcasting System, the conglomerate that owns Adult Swim, has published an official press release on their website with the already confirmed news that Toonami will be co-producing two more seasons, a total of 12 episodes, for "Fooly Cooly", also known as "FLCL", an short OVA anime series original premiered and aired between the year 2000 and 2001, before eventually airing many times on the Toonami block in the year 2003 and becoming a staple show for the brand's name as well as a popular and memorable anime for its viewers. It is confirmed that the original creator of the series Kazuya Tsurumaki will be on board as supervisor alongside director Katsuyuki Motohiro, known for his work on the anime Pyscho-Pass, as well as character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and writer Hideto Iwai. Included is also a short synopsis of the plot of the two seasons as well as when they will begin airing: This is the second animated series that has been confirmed for a revival on the Toonami block, the first being the western cartoon Samurai Jack. Even before its revival, the Toonami brand has shown enough staying power and influence to produce other new content for their acquired shows, such as The Big O. So does this mean that more properties that share a close connection with Toonami are eligible for this kind of treatment? It's certainly possible. And with the combined efforts of not only revitalizing old classics but also providing access to newer properties, the Toonami block is picking up steam with each new acquisition.
  4. From the Toonami Facebook page: IM SO HYPED!
  5. 1. there will probably be at least 6 episodes 2. Alisha's DLC(if it's going to be confirmed to be animated) will have 2 episodes or at least 4 as extra episodes to the main anime 3. will be the best animated tales of game visual wise 4. there probably will be no skipping for the most part 5. will be well cherished by the fans 6. will not be rushed
  6. Yes it's true! Finally Togashi is no longer on hiatus and will start working on the Manga. So yeah Hunter x Hunter is going to return! More information on this will be revealed on Saturday. Can't wait. You can read about it on this link.
  7. In the same vein as the upcoming SAO film, Accel World, another series by Reki Kawahara which in a way shares a universe with SAO, will be receiving a new anime film called "Infinite Burst". Accel World originally had an anime series in 2013 that ran for 24 episodes, and aside from a couple of OVAS and other misc. animations, "Infinite Burst" will be the first major anime project for the series in years. Also like the new SAO film, it will have an original story written by the aforementioned creator, Reki Kawahara.
  8. I've never thought I'd say this, but I am currently watching a slice of life style anime... Yeah. To eleborate, this show's been out for a while, and so has the manga, and I recently got introduced to it thanks to a anime reviewer on YouTube. He's like me; I prefer shonen anime with big muscled guys punching each other in the face. But then I heard about this series; it's hilarious, and pushes the bar on everything that is awkward and uncomfortable... but it's still hilarious. lol I recommend any type of anime/manga fan to check this series out. And after you do that, come back here so we can talk about it.
  9. This is what its come to. all the uncreativity has lead to this. Now i dont know what kind of schedule you have were you have to steal character designs for a fricking video game but still. Not that the series was any good to begin with, all the fanservice and rape scenes and just complete disrespect for woman in general. So SAO has released a few games so far, all of them sub par and only getting worse (at least in that regard its just like the original anime) a new game came out and it has a new character whose design seems... familiar Now where have i seen that before? OH WAIT! is that you miss best girl of Irregular at magic high school miss Miyuki Shiba? Same eye color, same color scheme. they even both have some yellow object on the left side of their hair. How... unoriginal. i am neither impressed nor inspired. SAO is basically a parasite at this point. constantly making more female characters just so the can make more money off their expensive overly sexual figures. well who knows. maybe this new girl will actually be able to do things without kirito. maybe she WONT be romantically interested in him like EVERY OTHER GIRL DESPITE THE FACT HES FRICKING MARRIED AT THIS POINT. Maybe not. But thats like saying that maybe Reki kawahara will learn how to actually write a good story. so yeah. no chance at that.
  10. So, unless the search didn't turn up what I was looking for, there isn't a One Piece discussion thread yet. So, I've decided to fix that! Well, feel free to discuss One Piece on here! Keep in mind, not all of us are up to date, so please avoid spoiling us!
  11. I'm looking for an anime which contains heavy sad theme or tear jerking tropes such as Angle Beats. But please avoid any 18+ (IF U KNOW) Anime. Any advice people? Sorry for the short post anyway
  12. Hey guys, I decided to make an official Miraculous Ladybug Discussion thread! For those of you who haven't seen the show, it's about two people named Marinette and Adrien who defend France from a mysterious villain named HawkMoth and his evil minions the Akuma! So far there is a CGI show airing on Nickelodeon and a anime OVA in production! I certainly recommend it as it's an awesome show! This thread is for discussion about it so enjoy~!
  13. Heyo! Just thought I'd make this topic for all those Digimon fans here. Anyways, I've been a fan of Digimon. It's been part of my childhood and I've loved it ever since. I was a bit young at the time to understand what was going on, but still I loved it. And yes, I grew up with the English Dub. So...I've never heard Butterfly...Until now.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xAueTwJFV4&index=2&list=LLbCM4uyVVOkgksBGfjumztQ I LOVE IT!!! Ahem... Anyways, I've been recently watching Digimon Adventure Tri and so far, I'm liking it! I can't wait for the 2nd Part to come out. And the 3rd Part intrigues me...
  14. OMG!!!! I can't even!!!! This was such a good chapter!!!! We finally And then we find out And Gah!!!! I screamed out loud when I got to that part! So to those who have read it, what are your thoughts? I personally LOVED it!!!
  15. For those of you who own one or multiple volumes of the KHII manga, like myself, or have read it online. Is it only me who feels like if Kingdom Hearts II's manga and game were mixed together, the product would be something godlike? The humour and atmosphere the manga creates is amazing and hilarious, mixed with the already fantastic gameplay and design of the game, I think it would be amazing.
  16. Naruto Shippuden is awful except for the pain arc. That was the only part I truly enjoyed. The first naruto series was vastly superior. Bleach also sucks. SAO II isn't very good.
  17. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of 19 Days, a currently very popular Shounen-Ai Chinese Manga. I discovered the manga about a month ago and am absolutely in love with the humor, drama, and the soft romance we get from this manga. It is in a very interesting art style and is by Old Xian. The summary of the manga, as told by MangaFox is... "The cute and funny adventures of a boy and his best friend." If you are into Shounen-Ai, check this manga out!!
  18. This happened last week and I'm just now getting to it. I gotta stop being lazy with my Toonami recordings. This promo aired last Sunday during Toonami's broadcast. "Dimension W", a newly airing anime in Japan during the current anime season, has been licensed by FUNimation for streaming and is now apparently being dubbed and will air on Toonami at 12:30 A.M. starting February 27th, replacing Akame ga Kill! after it's final episode airs the previous week. Now personally, I've been following the show since it's inception and honestly, it's kinda meh. BUT, this isn't about my personal taste, it's about what this means for Toonami. Like I mentioned, Dimension W was licensed for streaming by FUNimation, who is providing official simulcasts for the show currently. There is no broadcast dub available on FUNimation's site, and as of right now, Toonami will be the place to be to see the show in english. Toonami has gone to great lengths to do these type of anime premieres on their block. They aired the first episode of Space Dandy in english before it's initial premiere in Japan, and they've also premiered the dubs for Parasyte -the maxim- and the aforementioned Akame ga Kill! before either of them even hit DVD. With the success of this move, the success of the recent Intruder II event, whatever other dubs Toonami wishes to air, and the still looming return of Samurai Jack on the horizon, Toonami is taking a great step forward, and with more success breeds more opportunities for Toonami to expand their brand and become more popular in the eyes of modern anime fans.
  19. So I just started watching it and it's pretty good! I went ahead and made a video for it on my YouTube, check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCG0crLNT-k
  20. There is a poll going on in which you can vote for the anime you'd like to see as a video game. Here's the link to vote (You have to have a Facebook account though) - https://t.co/XBTtyKnpSJ I would personally like to see Hunter x Hunter game! Just thinking about it makes me excited...
  21. There's good anime, bad anime, and shitty anime. In this topic, I'll review five of the most shitty anime of the decade. Also, if you like these anime, I respect your opinion. And now..........the top five most shitty anime of the decade. Let's begin. 5: Sword Art Online This anime had potential. It could have been the big thing besides DBZ Super and One Piece. But like most animes, the series turn into shit after the first couple of episodes. This is one of those animes where fanservice isn't a good thing. The show revolves around the main character Kirito and his in-game (and later IRL) girlfriend Asuna and their story after they get trapped within an MMO that causes its players to die for real if they die within the game. It seemed like an interesting concept that was executed in all the wrong ways.orld and the quest to level up and beat the final boss to "escape" the MMO. However, instead of focusing on that quest, the series focuses heavily on the romance aspect of the series. Much of he leveling and dungeoning processes are simply skipped over in favor of giving the main male lead Kirito more time with one of his many lady friends (namely Asuna). At one point during the show, the series goes way off track when Kirito and Asuna decide to get married in game and go have a honeymoon for 2 whole episodes. Why directors, why? We want action, adventure, and unique themes. Not this love bullshit. main character Kirito is 100x worse. He is by far the worst gary stu I've ever seen in an anime. The series essentially revolves around proving how awesome and special Kirito is. (When he's not cool at all.) Kirito, like Asuna, is originally described as a loner that prefers to play alone, also known as a "beater" in the game. But, can they least show some challenges for the main character? He always kick some boss or beat someone up with ease like he's Superman or something. How the f*** can he easily beat enemies. Did he grind early in the show? Or just using power boosts all the time? We'll never know due to this love shit. The second season is the same thing expect there's incest, Asuna getting captured like Peach, and no deaths. The third season is the same as the first, but we actually got a villain, who is f****** generic and nothing special. He uses a gun to kill people. Hooray. -_- Also, Kirito is a girl. Way to promote rule 63. If you want a proper MMO anime, watch Horizon Log. It has action, adventure, a good plot, and comedy. 4: K-ON! K-ON! is another entry in the moe slop-bucket of shitty anime. Once again, all the girls are totally cute(But wtf with the blonde girl eye brows), and we get to see their adventures of daily life. Nothing much happens. We pretty much watch normal teenage girls do stuff. That must be why it is so popular. It can’t be the plot (it doesn’t have one), it can’t be the action (it doesn’t have any), it can’t be the incredible acting (it doesn’t have that because the acting is shitty), and it can’t be the amazing character growth (it doesn’t have any). If the writers/director/animators had put one tenth of the effort into storytelling that they did into making cute character designs, then this show could have been ok in anime standards. It would be better if it ended like this: Then the anime would be less shitty. 3: School Days Is School Days the worst anime ever? No. It is the worst THING ever. I only watched it because if its noterity, and it is well deserving of all the hate it gets. The story is barf inducing and the charecters are some of the worst people in any story line. The main character gets killed and the voice acting is terrible. The anime is so terrible and bland that I don't want to go in greater detail. Just avoid this anime in all costs. 2: Kill la Kill This show is, without a doubt, the most pure, unadulterated bullshit I have ever watched, with a story more contrived than Bleach, ten times the asspull of Naruto and death note combined, and characters more obnoxious than even Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. If it were not for the way it was delivered, and the obvious satire on ridiculous shitty anime tropes that this show embodies, it would be one of the worst anime of all time. The anime is about a transfer student who looks a person who you don't want to f*** with, Ryuuko. And how she's trying to find her father's killer. (Her father looks like Dr. Wily. Surprised that Capcom didn't sue) On her disposal is the half of a scissors blade and her faithful fighting suit which was designed by her father and reveals as much skin as possible, pretty similar to what you would see in a strip club where the dancers aren't paid enough to go full nude (It seems people forgot about plot than nudity) Also, the suit is alive. The first time they met looks like a freakin hentai situation. The suit feeds on her blood to give her power. At this point it's almost impossible not to make a period joke but I'll show restraint. (Because I don't want to hurt the females feeling) The whole school (if you can call it that, honestly there's been a max of like 2 scenes where we see a lesson) wears some short of battle suits and because of the school leader's order everyone is aiming at Ryuuko to kill her. Yeah, the plot is shit and filled with unintresting stuff, it's just an excuse to fill the episodes with over the top action, transformation scenes, and nudity. The school leader, the second most important character in the series Kiryuuin Satsuki is supposedly the daughter of a cloth-making company, has a similar suit to Ryuuko's and knows who Ryuuko's father's killer is, but won't reveal it to her because... Because the script writers wanted us to be amazed by the "sudden" twist that Satsuki was not actually the killer (And she's Ryuuko sister. So Ryuuko x Satsuki ship is dead unless you like incest). Satsuki is as strict and always angry looking as possible which after a while becomes rather boring and annoying. The side characters are boring, one sided or just plain assholes. Satsuki gang or students are unintresting with nothing unique about them. One is a over confident sword wielder like most anime characters, second is a nerd who has the mind of Xehanort, third is a great giant dude who character is I really like (Because he protects students from harm), and a pink overconfident asshole who likes music. Ryuuko best friend or aka joke character is unintresting at best. She mostly runs/teleport around the place cheering for her friend. Or just eating with her awesome family. Mostly she's eating. Oh yeah, later in the story she faces her mother with Satsuki. Both team up to kill their mother who kill herself believeing clothing is supreme. Anyway, it's pretty shitty and should be avoided. 1: Lucky Star For some disturbing reason, the latter half of the decade was plagued with an onslaught of “cute” flat-chested girls who sit around and do nothing. (Thank god One Piece and new original animes saved us from this massacre of anime) Lucky Star is the shitty epitome of everything that is wrong with the current state of anime. No plot, super moe, unfunny, nothing f******* happens, no action, no character development, and a completely vapid waste of time. Now, I know what you’re going to say, “BUT DUDE THEY ARE TEH UBER CUTE AND IT'S A SLICE OF LIFE ANIME LOL” Sorry, but you’re so wrong. What’s “entertaining” is subjective, but not what’s good. Lucky Star can be entertaining to people who are functionally awesome and don't know what's is life, but nobody with any standards in storytelling would find it appealing. The latest T-Pain song may entertain you, but you probably wouldn’t say it’s good like something by The Beatles or KISS. This is trash anime, the pinnacle of horribleness, the anime version of Satan and Hitler’s child. It only solidified the popularity of the vapid-moe/slice-of-life trend, and for that it deserves the title of shittiest anime of the decade. Plus, its opening song is an audio holocaust.
  22. Since there's a topic for favorite anime openings, why not have one for favorite endings? Again, you can link more than one, but please put them on spoiler tabs. ^^ I'll start then. I think my favorite one is Future Fish from Free! Eternal Summer... There's just nothing else quite like it (+it's just so catchy). And it just makes me smile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi35L4dZ5Ic Hibike! Euphonium (I guess kyoani makes good endings?) Revolutionary girl Utena ed1 (nothing really happening here... I just like the song so much? Idek why) HunterxHunter 2011 ed2 Cardcaptor Sakura ed3 (honestly this is nothing special... but I loved it as a 12-year-old, and I still love it now)
  23. Do you prefer watching anime with English Subtitles or with English Dubbed, with the English voice actors? And what is your reason for choosing the choice you have made? I, personally like English Dubbed so I can watch what is going on while still understanding what the characters are saying. But I also like English Subbed since it gives me something to read. (Hahaha ) But in total, I don't mind either. Rock on!
  24. Article The "Next Generation" Naruto countdown issued by WSJ is now closed, and the project behind it is now confirmed: a brand, new full length "Boruto" manga, written by Ukyo Kodachi, who wrote Gaara Hiden and worked on the screenplay for Boruto The Movie, and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto, an assistant to Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto on the original Naruto manga. Kishimoto himself will also be making a new Boruto one-shot that will most likely tie into this brand new series. The above image coupled with the announcement graphic is presumably artwork done by Ikemoto himself and might be a preview of what to expect from the new manga. Not too much in terms of significance is shown other than some new or altered character designs. However, there are some new elements such as the return of Team Shinki, a genin team from Sand Village featured in Boruto The Movie, as well as a new unknown character located on the far right. I, for one, was expecting a new manga rather than something like a new anime or film, so I'm not too surprised by this. I wasn't counting on a new one-shot, though.
