  1. Have any of you guys heard of it and seen the picture of Squall? Scary as shit.
  2. In a website it is mentioned this, here the link: http://www.lokasenna.pe.kr/ardente/etc./ ======== There are 3 situations, of which the most important is that which I put below. SITUATION: When asked at G-Garden whether she still liked Seifer ENGLISH TRANSLATION: Rinoa: If I didn't, I wouldn't be talking about it. ORIGINAL: Rinoa: If I did I couldn't talk about it like this. COMPARISON: Huh? o.O I checked another source, and it bears out the story guide book, too. It seems the translators either made a huge boo-boo, or mistranslated on purpose to create a lover's triangle between Seifer, Squall, and Rinoa. Whether to go with the English translation or not is up to the gamer, but it seems Rinoa wasn't originally the "tart" she's made out to be in the English version.
  3. Hey there everyone, how's it going? Well, as you all know, I had been playing Final Fantasy III on my 3DS for some time now, and I finished it a week ago! It was a great game, and overall, it had a good dose of difficulty and challenge throughout, and so, since I finished the game, I wanted to give my personal review, for those of you who haven't played it yet. For those that are newcomers to the series, note that it is not necessary to play the other numbered entries of the Final Fantasy series in chronological order since all of them have completely different stories and characters. Okay, so here goes nothing! In this entry of the Final Fantasy series, you play as four characters named Luneth, Arc, Refia and Ingus.(You can change their names in the beginning of the game.) They are chosen by the Crystals to become the four warriors of light, and their mission is to restore balance to the world, since darkness has engulfed most of it. Basically, this is a typical save the world affair, and while it is good, I didn't find the four characters to be remotely interesting. They didn't resonate with me in an emotional way. They were just too bland in my opinion. They didn't have any urgency in their mission, they didn't really have any compelling reason to set out on their journey. They simply undertook the journey because they were told to by the Crystal. They didn't even doubt themselves or anything like that. In all honesty, there is no character development here. Oh well, but you take what you can get, and some of the characters you find along the way are interesting, like Princess Sarah, who falls in love with Ingus, and she's quite a feisty princess. There's also Desch, a wise-cracking warrior who has amnesia but then regains his memories after doing a certain something. There's also Prince Alus, who is the son of the King of Saronia. He was exiled by the king and whatnot, and well, at least he was an interesting character, unlike the four warriors of light. Now then, on with the gameplay. If you've played most Final Fantasy games, you'll know how things work around here. Battles consist of turn based affairs in which you control the four warriors of light and choose what commands to execute in battle. Magic Points are handled a bit differently here. When you play the game, you'll understand what I mean. Anyways, the twist here is that you have the Job System, which allows you to change your character's class. This is a good feature since you can be able to build your party into something that fits your playstyle. Nearing the end, I used Luneth as a Ninja, Arc as a Scholar, Refia as a Red Mage, and Ingus as a Summoner, and with that setup I defeated the Cloud of Darkness. There are a variety of jobs, so experiment well with them so you can be able to find a class that is to your liking. You buy weapons and armor from shops to increase your stats, and you defeat enemies to level up. Please trust me when I say that you have to think carefully of your actions in this game. I lost about three times in the beginning of the game because the enemies were overpowered! The other thing keeping me on my toes was the fact that in this game you can't buy Phoenix Downs! The only way to get them is by finding and opening chests in dungeons, and hope that by sheer force of luck you get them as item drops from fallen enemies. I must admit this boosts the challenge and difficulty, but at times I found it tedious. Once you give the gameplay a spin though, you'll be able to fare fine in battle. Oh, and you travel to other places by exploring the world map and using a variety of Airships. So yeah, long story short, this game was good, and I enjoyed it, but I did not love it as much as I loved Final Fantasy IV. Final Fantasy IV will remain my absolute favorite entry in the series. Final Fantasy III was good, but the characters didn't give me any reasons to care about them, but the gameplay and the world exploring were good enough to make me look the other way. The bosses are also quite challenging, so for those who love a good challenge, look no further. This is not the perfect Final Fantasy game, but it is a good game nonetheless, and a great game for RPG enthusiasts, so I say that you give it a try! You have nothing to lose, except your character's lives if you don't have any Phoenix Downs with you! Haha, this has been my review of Final Fantasy III, tell me what you think about it! Golden out!
  4. The fan translation of Final Fantasy Type-0 has been shut down and all the posts relating to the project have been removed. Skybladecloud who was working on the translation released this statement, Pretty disappointing to those involved with the project and who wanted to try the game on the PSP in English, but this news definitely must come in wake of Square Enix recently announcing that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be coming to the west on the PS4 and Xbox One in the future. Source: http://www.skybladecloud.net/type-0-translation-patch-unavailable/
  5. I am planning to get Lightning Returns but I want to know why exactly this game got mixed to bad review scores?
  6. Why isn't there a Music Player in the Nintendo DS version (including the HD remaster versions) of FINAL FANTASY III?
  7. https://ffrk.jp/ According to Google Translate it's a game.
  8. Check it out here. Likely from Square Enix's amazing Mobile Division.
  9. For those who have played it, what are your thoughts on Toriyama's FINAL FANTASY XII: Revenant Wings? I never played it, so obviously I'd love it remade as HD Cinematic Story Videos for XII HD Remaster.
  10. Update: I worked with Apple's Support Team for iTunes and they have successfully dealt with the older page. Issue finally resolved. Version one. Version two. The first version is 1 hour and 40 minutes while the second one is 1 hour and 41 minutes which rules out Advent Children Complete since the director's cut is 2 hours and 5 minutes. However the second version is apparently about 400 MB bigger. Anyone know what's up with this?
  11. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within is the last thing the creator of the series ever directed or produced for the franchise. It was a Box Office flop and it destroyed Square Pictures and did some damage to the whole of Square financially. Square managed to quickly return to profitably thanks to the efforts of Sony and Square's Product Development Division 1 led by Kitase, Toriyama, Nomura and Hashimoto which these days is the 1st Production Department led by the same people. But back to the actual movie, the movie is at times confusing and you're left wondering what? And sometimes this story might be better suited to an episode of Doctor Who. However, the movie does it have it's moments and some good characters including General Douglas Hein voiced by the James Woods, and the military style scenes prove entertaining. Sadly, the main character, Dr. Aki Ross leaves a lot to be desired. I found her uninteresting and with hardly any back story. In fact, the movie in general has little back story with does leave some things even more confusing. Thankfully the movie isn't too long or short. Running at about 106 minutes. I'm also left wondering what happened next, I assume they planned for a sequel....the ending has hardly any closure and you're left thinking "what was the point of that?" "what did that solve?" Of course I must praise the animation for it's time, it must have been truly amazing back then. In the end this is a good movie that I enjoyed. Considering it's available to Buy and/or Rent on the PlayStation Store, iTunes Store, Google Play Store, Amazon Instant Video and BigPond Movies along with being available cheaply on Blu-ray and DVD I recommend you watch it. 6/10
  12. Thanks to http://the.pyreflies.org/?p=1115.
  13. Hey all. So I am thinking about getting Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD remaster this summer since it's at a good price on Amazon (I'm debating on either getting FF X/X-2 HD remaster, Metal gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and The Last of Us). But I just thought I'd ask how good it is to you guys since there are FF fans on this site. So yeah, how good is the HD remaster to you? Is it worth the purchase? Because right now it's about $28.12 on Amazon which seems like a good price to get it on. Also, do you guys think it's worth playing Final Fantasy X-2? Because I heard that it was bad and ruined everything great about FFX.
  14. That's right, FINAL FANTASY IX released 14 years ago today, in Japan. Since then all we've had is the English version and the PSOne Classic. Hopefully a HD remaster like the ones VII and VIII got is in development for PC.
  15. EB Games Australia have announced that THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY CURTAIN CALL's Collector's Edition is coming to Australia on September 18. Square Enix Europe did not mention the Collector's Edition when they announced it's release date so this is a surprise. It will cost a nice $109.95.
  16. This has been a big issue for me. By looks of it, each Final Fantasy games happens either on a different World, year or dimension from one another. The only connection between these games are when a spin-off happens. Is there really any connection between the games? I mean, really. Can a Final Fantasy game be a story of its own or is it a continuation of previous games like Kingdom Hearts does? I don't think they do? I honestly don't know.
  17. Shinji Hashimoto has announced in today's Japanese, Nintendo Direct that FINAL FANTASY Explorers will be released on Nintendo 3DS in Japan this "Winter". That's Summer in Southern countries. You can view the new trailer below.
  18. Here are some of the things I think would of helped Final Fantasy 13 become great. Have the gameplay like FF13-2 faster paced Being able to move on the battlefield like Lightning Returns and deflect attacks when needed. Also being able to jump with the O button.
  19. I'm about to fight God and well I heard he can be really really hard so anybody got any tips for me on how to fight him
