  1. The vinyl is a limited edition release of the FINAL FANTASY VIII Original Soundtrack. Only 2,000 copies with the serial code will be given away in the UK. It's going for 49,99 pounds. You can pre-order it here. Credit here
  2. GLITZ PIT RP SPINOFF, Final Fantasy Version [[The origins of this roleplay come from NSider and NSider2, though the lead originator is Link1487. However, the idea and creators of the Glitz's many versions have changed over the course of these many years and will change again. Yay, change! Ror, Inx, Zee, Link, and whoever else is out there still making Glitz Pit fun--thank you.]] Table of Contents I. Story II. Rules III. Fighter Rankings IV. Registered Matches V. How This Thread Will Work VI. Creating a Character VII. Arenas VIII. Item Shop IX. Character Profiles X. Element Chart XI. News Updates XII. Event Information XIII. Important Fight Judgments I) Story: Battles take place in an sequestered colosseum where previously known (or unknown) combatants of various universes wage private wars with each other. Existing hundreds of years, if not thousands, this arena has plucked heroes, villains, and potent wannabes of considerable strength to hone their combative elements of strength, focus, footwork, cunning, and magics. Many have retired in fame and luxury under the nurture of robotic servants and ambrosic foods and drinks, without fear of age or death, growing fat and happy. This is promised to all who opt out, but most desire one of two other options: continual fighting or an absolute escape. Plucked without reason other to fight, do you, O fighter, have what it takes to battle your way to fame, valiance, or the outside? Show your mettle in what is simply known as the Pit. II) Rules 1. Follow all original RP rules of KH13, if that wasn't obvious. 2. You must follow all of these rules while in this thread, and you must read the entire thread (the first few posts by me) before posting. 3. No g-modding. Simple definition: You cannot be invincible, or use overpowered attacks. More details can be found later in the thread. 4. All fighting will be judged by me. 5. If you are inactive for more than three days during a fight without an excuse given beforehand (like going on vacation, etc.), you automatically lose with no gain in coins. Don't request a battle if you don't think you can finish it. 6. I will make all final decisions regarding how matches will be set up, and their outcomes. No arguing with me over who won (unless you have a definitive reason), or you will be pushed down a rank in the ranking list. 7. Everyone gets a default 100 coins to begin with when you sign up. 8. If you would like to give your coins to someone, both parties involved must PM me verifying they would like the transaction to take place. 9. If you have any questions about the rules, or specific suggestions for the thread, PM me please instead of posting it here. 10. Limit OOC chat here please. That means try not to talk out of character. If you want, your character can talk to someone else's character, but make sure it does not create too much spam. 11. All bets on fights must be made before the fight begins or within the first 3 posts of the fight. (More on that later in thread) 12. All Brawls are open to anyone who is registered in this thread. (More on those later in thread) 13. Any fighters who consciously disobey the "max page" restriction a fight can last for will be lowered down a rank, and 100 coins will be deducted from their total. Going over by a little is fine, but when it's nearly double the maximum, punishment will be given. 14. Anyone ranked from halfway through the list of people, and up, will be put in the major league locker room. Anyone lower than half of the people here will be in the minor league locker room. The champion will have their own room. You may only challenge fighters who are in your league, unless you are at the top of your league. If you are at the top of the minor league, you may challenge the lowest ranking major league fighter for a place in that league. The same goes for the major league, except the first place person would challenge the champion. 15. Check the news section often for any updates to this thread. 16. Ignore the fact that the story is bad and cliche. 17. Everyone who joins gets a free 'Character Change' item upon registering. This is so they can create their first character and get a feel for it, but if they do not like it, they can change it to something completely different. 18. Try to keep OOC posts (surrounded with parenthesis) or [some other unique method] of differentiating between what your character says and does, and what you are trying to say. 19. Do not edit battle posts without my permission or the permission of your opponent, or other fighters might think you are cheating. 20. Notify me in this thread or via PM if you change your NS2 name so I can update the thread accordingly. III) Fighter Rankings IV) Registered Matches V) How this Thread Will Work This is the most important post of the thread, so it's very important you read it carefully and try to understand it. Some of you may be new to fighting, while others may not. A fighting tutorial will be posted near the end of this post to get you all familiar with how fighting should work. For now, we need to discuss the basic mechanics of non-battling things that happen in this thread. Table of Contents i. Betting ii. Setting Up a Match iii. Beginning a Match iv. Unlocking Things v. 3. Vote for the best Final Fantasy mainline sub-series!
  4. Here's a lengthy interview with legendary Final Fantasy artist, Kazuko Shibuya.
  5. i haven't seem any forum post like this yet so like the title says i'm actually very curious to see what final fantasy characters people want to appear in the game since this is of course a disney/square enix crossover game. i do have a few characters i would like to see such as: leon and the gang, i'm pretty positive these guys will return but it would be great to see them since they started sora off in his journey and they could help him finish it gilgamesh, this guy would be perfect for an optional boss battle in my opinion. his goofy personality would be hilarious to watch as he comments how strange the environment is around him and it would be shocking if he suddenly pulled out keyblades before you battled him zidane, i didn't think about him appearing until i saw that the tangled world was confirmed and i thought "hey you know zidane would be perfect for this" and i've started wanting him to appear plus i would like to see conversations between him eugene since they're both fellow thieves cloud and sephiroth, since nomura is making this game i am half expecting cloud and sephiroth to make a cameo of some sort. i'm not sure how they would appear but i'm pretty sure nomura will find some way to put them in it so who do you guys want to appear in the game?
  6. Motomu Toriyama, the man behind Cloud & Aerith's romance, the Final Fantasy X series, the sequel to Final Fantasy XII and the Final Fantasy XIII series actually helped out a bit on a little Kingdom Hearts game called 358/2 Days on Nintendo DS.
  7. In 1997, Square planned to port FINAL FANTASY V to PC but due to communication issues between them and other companies they decided to abandon the project. With FINAL FANTASY III now available on Steam, it would seem PC is on Square Enix's list of platforms to port the original FINAL FANTASY games to. So nearly twenty years later...it would seem FINAL FANTASY V will be finally released on PC through Steam. Expect Amazon Appstore, Ouya and Windows Phone releases first though and they still have to finish FINAL FANTASY IV before they even think about V. But it should come to PC in 2015.
  8. The FINAL FANTASY Portal App is designed to deliver the latest FINAL FANTASY news, information, videos, apps and more to your iOS and Android devices. It features the popular mini-game from FINAL FANTASY VIII, Triple Triad now featuring cards from the entire series including the latest entries, FINAL FANTASY XIII & FINAL FANTASY XIV. Experience Triple Triad in HD with achievements. You can also play your friends. It's also a lot of fun. Through reading articles, watching videos and so on you collect points via your Square Enix account. With these points you can purchase digital content like wallpapers for your smartphone and cards for Triple Triad. For a limited time, you can also get FINAL FANTASY for "free", there is a ton of catches here including only English language support for one. What makes matters worse is that it is still the horrible version they sold for years. The Android version is the worst as not only doesn't it have HD support, achievements, cloud saving etc it does not include the bonus dungeons, the music player or the bestiary. The FINAL FANTASY Portal App is great but the situation with the original FINAL FANTASY remains to be a joke. 8/10
  9. The very first Final Fantasy game has been removed this morning from the Apple App Store & Google Play Store. You can still re-download it if you already own it. It is currently unclear why this has occurred but likely reasons include compatibility issues and what I'm hoping for: A big update.
  10. FINAL FANTASY: THE 4 HEROES OF LIGHT is a spin-off developed by Matrix Software and published by Square Enix for the Nintendo DS. Directed & written by Takashi Tokita, who had just come off directing & executive producing the full 3D remake of FINAL FANTASY IV with producer and fellow writer Tomoya Asano who went on to create the Bravely franchise. Additionally, music composed by Naoshi Mizuta who went on to work on FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 and LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII with character designs by Akihiko Yoshida who of course designed the main characters in FINAL FANTASY XII and FINAL FANTASY XIV. Like many other Tokita helmed Matrix Software titles, this title's concept seems to be making a SNES-era game for modern hardware. And it achieves that quite well, however without the epic story. The story is more like the NES-era, with a simple story that has it's moments such as turning into a cat but overall it's too simple for my taste. I don't want to play a 20-30 hour game with a simple story. Gameplay is pretty good, it has returned to the traditional turn-based-combat but it has to, this is a new battle system which uses "Boost" commands rather than your typical magic points. This is an interesting idea, but far too often you'll find yourself needing to "Boost" to get the "points" needed to heal your character, problem is you'll probably die if you do. A better idea would have been to make you guard while boosting. You also have very limited room in your inventory. Exploring dungeons is as per usual straight forward, nothing too complicated here. Saving requires you to meet a man who pops up now and then with his dog or is it a fox? He'll ask you to save, and of course you will. The Job System also returns, however it's nothing on the level of FINAL FANTASY X-2's Job System. Art direction is pretty good, but nothing to get excited over. Music is exactly what it should be, SNES-style. FINAL FANTASY: THE 4 HEROES OF LIGHT is the team that remade FINAL FANTASY III and FINAL FANTASY IV trying to make their very own SNES-style game but with no epic story and some ideas that could be worked on. It's only worth recommending if you're fine with simple & long stories with at times challenging gameplay. 7/10
  11. The face of the franchise for almost a decade has arrived in a brand new Final Fantasy Record Keeper event. You can also pick up Sazh during this event. DeNA has also released another big update. Be sure to check it out!
  12. The Android versions of Final Fantasy III, IV, V and VI are now 50% off. They also now all support Android TV, thus allowing you to play them on your TV if you wish.
  13. Shinji Hashimoto revealed late last year that staff who worked on the Final Fantasy XIII series have been moved onto Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy XIV. However, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward has since released and not one core or notable staff member from the Final Fantasy XIII series is credited. In regards to Final Fantasy XV, we already know a very large amount of the staff working on the project and only Isamu Kamikokuryo appears to be working on Final Fantasy XV. Below is all the core & notable staff members from all three titles in the Final Fantasy XIII series not including composers. Motomu Toriyama - confirmed to be directing a new title, most likely a AAA Final Fantasy title. Yoshinori Kitase - Producer of Mobius, VII Remake and likely Toriyama's title. Yuji Abe - Confirmed to be working on a Kitase project. Nobuyuki Matsuoka - Unknown Isamu Kamikokuryo - FFXV world art director Daisuke Watanabe - Unknown Toshiyuki Itahana - Character designer for Mobius Toshitaka Matsuda - Art director for Mobius Naoki Hamaguchi - Project leader for Mobius Shintaro Takai - Unknown Takeshi Iwabuchi - Unknown Yusuke Matsui - Unknown Yoshiki Kashitani - Uknown
  14. With the exception of the original FINAL FANTASY XIV, FINAL FANTASY ALL THE BRAVEST is the the only FINAL FANTASY game to be universally negatively received. Developed by BitGroove and published by Square Enix for iOS & Android. The original concept for this title came from none other than Tetsuya Nomura who served as creative producer. And it was produced by Ichiro Hazama, the producer of the DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY series and THEATRHYTHM series. Nomura & Hazama produced a pretty bad game to be honest. There's no story and the graphics are pretty mediocre. There's some nostalgia for fans of the NES & SNES eras but that's about it. Combat is simply swiping the screen up and down. And if you want to use a main character from the FINAL FANTASY series you have to pay money just to simply have a chance of unlocking a main character like Cloud or Lightning for example. The game just consists on going around some map and fighting similar monsters and bosses by swiping up and down and you'll easily die and then you have to wait awhile for the characters to be revived or simply pay money. You'll get like one or two minutes play time without paying. There's also Fever Mode which speeds up your attacks for a short period of time but you also have to wait even longer for this. Overall this game is so bad on so many levels. I don't know what Nomura was thinking. Just go play FINAL FANTASY Record Keeper, it's actually quite good. 3/10
  15. NOTE: We sound like maniacs from pure joy, so prepare your ears.
  16. Square Enix's E3 2015 press conference is only 3 days away and there is a good chance Motomu Toriyama's new title will be revealed here. Here you can make your final prediction what it is, for as Tidus says in Final Fantasy X: This may be our last chance. To help you make your final prediction here's a few things. Firstly on December 27, 2014 in a developer survey with 4Gamer.net, Motomu Toriyama provided a message regarding his new title. goldpanner was nice enough to provide me with a new translation of this last month: Secondly, in an interview with Famitsu.com, Motomu Toriyama confirmed he was in Business Division 1, which is headed by Yoshinori Kitase. This Business Division structure started in December 2013. Of course this is no surprise since these two have worked together since the turn of the century as director & producer respectively and even before that on Final Fantasy VII in different roles. So of course, whatever Toriyama is directing, Kitase is of course producing. Thirdly, the following key staff have not worked on any announced or released projects since the completion of Motomu Toriyama's last title, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Yuji Abe (Game Design Director) Nobuyuki Matsuoka (Battle System Director) Daisuke Watanabe (Lead Scenario Writer) Masashi Hamauzu (Lead Composer) Lastly, here's a list of all the titles Motomu Toriyama has ever worked on as well as his roles on them. Bahamut Lagoon - Story event planner Final Fantasy VII - Event planner Racing Lagoon - Scenario writer, event and map planner Final Fantasy X - Director (Event), scenario writer Final Fantasy X-2 - Director Final Fantasy VII: Technical Demo for PS3 - Developer Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings - Director, scenario and event direction The World Ends with You - Special thanks Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King - Scenario director Dissidia: Final Fantasy - Scenario supervisor Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord - Scenario director Blood of Bahamut - Director, scenario writer Final Fantasy XIII - Director, scenario designer Front Mission Evolved - Senior scriptwriter The 3rd Birthday - Scenario director Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy - Special thanks Imaginary Range - Supervisor Final Fantasy Type-0 - Special thanks Final Fantasy XIII-2 - Director Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII - Director Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster - Supervisor Fire your predictions away!
