  1. I started with Type-0 because the demo needed time to download... Type-0 was really fun! It kinda throws you in there without really giving you much warning.... it gives you game-play controls then throws you right into the fight, and it is fun and easy enough to understand, however it did grade me at the end which pissed me off... I never liked being graded in a game... especially for time... like if you don't want me to go around and explore and look for items... don't make so many paths and shiny items.... If I get a D in time it is because I looked at every dead body for a Knowing Tag, so sorry for getting into the lore...(Also this isn't a real complaint, I understand that you are a cadet that should be graded at the end and this was just a preference) . Then you go to the Academy, and I spent about an hour talking to everyone and visiting every room I could before going back out into the missions. The game asked if I wanted extra help
  2. After Crystal Bearers bombed the team was clearly disbanded, but where did the key people go? Toshiyuki Itahana, the director of Crystal Bearers and regular character designer is of course chilling in division 1 working on Mevius after XIII-2 and LR. Akitoshi Kawazu, the producer of the sub-series is of course now in charge of the new SaGa game for Vita. Kenichiro Yuji who served as director on My Life as a King joined the Type-0 team and served as battle director, he's now working on FFXV. Mitsuru Kamiyama, director of both DS games and the first Wii game has vanished similar to Kazuhiko Aoki who directed the GameCube game. Hiroyuki Saegusa, a writer on multiple games went to work on Lord of Arcana. Hiroyuki Kaneko, director of My Life as a Darklord left the company. Yasuhisa Izumisawa, another character designer ended up working on Lightning Returns as well. Kiyoko Maeda, producer of Echoes of Time has also vanished, most likely they left the company as well.
  3. I have never played a Final Fantasy game in my life.
  4. The following songs will be added in today's Nintendo eShop update. (each song costs £0.89/€0.99/$0.99 individually) Battle with Magus – Chrono Trigger Apoplexy – Final Fantasy Tactics Assault – Final Fantasy X Hills of Radiant Winds – NieR Beat Them Up! – Romancing SaGa Into the Thick of It – Secret of Mana
  5. A lot of Final Fantasy titles ranging PS4, PS3, PS Vita and PSP are now sale for 50% off in Europe & Australia.
  6. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward could just be the beginning of a lot Final Fantasy titles on PS4 in the next couple years. Final Fantasy XV will be *hopefully* FINALLY released on PS4 next year. The PC version of Final Fantasy VIII is likely to follow FFVII to PS4. The iOS/Android/PC versions of Final Fantasy III, IV, V, VI and maybe Final Fantasy IV: The After Years are good chances of being ported to PS4. Final Fantasy XII HD Remaster will hopefully happen. Motomu Toriyama has confirmed to reveal a new title this year, it's unlikely to be Final Fantasy X-3 but even if it's not there's a chance it could still be on PS4 whatever it is. Hajime Tabata has said before another FFXV demo could come out out later this year. Dissidia Final Fantasy and Mevius Final Fantasy will hopefully come to PS4 as well. Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy Hiroyuki Ito and his team could finally release their long in development project.
  7. Square Enix has updated the iOS & Android versions of Final Fantasy. Square Enix only noted "bug fixes" in the update but this is A LOT more than just bug fixes. Final Fantasy is a now a universal app, meaning it's an app designed for both iPhone & iPad. In addition, Square Enix has also added a menu button in the top right hand corner, similar to the other FF mobile titles. They have also re-designed the movement icon, and it doesn't stay on the screen now, also keeping it more consistent with the other titles. Early impressions of mine is that some things are more shaper including the King's Palace however sadly it's still not HD, and the Android version is still missing content.
  8. Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Life Is Strange will be featured and playable at PAX East 2015. There will also be panels for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Final Fantasy XV, Life Is Strange and Just Cause 3.
  9. Matrix Software, the developer behind the 3D remakes of Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years along with its original version and Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, Final Fantasy Dimensions (and it's remake) and even the HD remasters of Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI has continued its partnership with Takashi Tokita on his latest title. They're of course working on Final Fantasy Legends: Crystal of Space-Time, a free-to-play game for iOS and Android that reached over one million downloads and topped the Apple App Store sales charts in under a week. They're continually adding content to this game. Reviews out of Japan have been quite good so far. Tokita recently asked me to wait a little longer for an English version in case you're wondering.
  10. I would include XV, but it's not even released yet so... yeah.
  11. This week's update includes an extensive variety of Square Enix titles, including tracks from Nier, Chrono Trigger and more. Each track is priced at U.S $0.99. Available Today: Battle Music Sequence (BMS) “Frog’s Theme” (CHRONO TRIGGER) “The Dawn Warriors” (FINAL FANTASY® V) “Vamo’alla flamenco” (FINAL FANTASY IX) “Nemesis” (FINAL FANTASY XIV) “Misgestalt” (SaGa Frontier® 2) “Swivel” (Seiken Densetsu 3) “The Conflict” (Romancing SaGa®) “The Ultimate Confrontation” (Romancing SaGa) “Megalomania” (Live A Live™) Field Music Sequence (FMS) “Echoes of the Spiral” (LEGEND OF MANA®) “Kainé / Salvation” (NieR Replicant & NieR Gestalt) “Song of the Ancients / Devola” (NieR Replicant & NieR Gestalt) Fans of the series can also look forward to a new set of add-on tracks planned for March 5, 2015.
  12. I asked Takashi Tokita, the head of division 9 if there any plans to update Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II. Unfortunately, there are not. As a result, Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II remain two of the only entries in the main series not playable in HD alongside IX, XII, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus and Revenant Wings.
  13. Square Enix has confirmed division 4 is working on the new Dissidia Final Fantasy game for Japanese arcades. Division 4 developed Dissidia 012. The team responsible for Dissidia 012 also worked on the original game, although it begun development under the PS2 era structure and thus was in division 1. Tetsuya Nomura will of course be serving as character designer. Ichiro Hazama is expected to produce while Mitsunori Takahashi is expected to be directing, reprising their respective roles from 012. Since the release of 012, division 4 has released Theatrhythm Final Fantasy and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call, however both were outsourced to indieszero. This new Dissidia might have been in development since 2012.
  14. Square Enix logic..... Make a new Dissida Final Fantasy game with amazing graphics such as these and...... only put it in arcades.... What a waste.
  15. Final Fantasy Legends: Crystal of Space-Time is now available on iOS & Android in Japan. The launch trailer is below.
  16. Final Fantasy Legends: Crystal of Space-Time will be finally released for iOS & Android in Japan on February 12. This brand new spin-off game is produced by Takashi Tokita, the head of division 9 as well as the co-director of Chrono Trigger, director of Parasite Eve, director of Final Fantasy IV's 3D remake after being the lead designer on the original game and was also in charge of FFIV: The After Years, FF: The 4 Heroes of Light, FF Dimensions, the HD remasters of FFIII, FFIV, FFV and FFVI and has worked on various other projects. The game is inspired by Chrono Trigger and has a similar combat system to Final Fantasy X. It is free-to-play and an English version is likely.
  17. This year's Game Developers Choice Awards will honour Hironobu Sakaguchi with a Lifetime Achievement Award. "Final Fantasy helped pave the way for game stories that dealt with death, regret and character development in a mature and significant way, and we're proud to honor Sakaguchi-san as a true leader in the space, and an inspired game developer," - Meggan Scavio, general manager of GDC events. He is being honoured for his various contributions to various RPGs including Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and many more. Without Sakaguchi the Final Fantasy series, Kingdom Hearts series, Parasite Eve series, SaGa series, Mana series and others would not exist. Thanks to IGN for the tip.
  18. The Final Fantasy Portal app is releasing on iOS & Android in Japan tomorrow and the first one million downloaders will score a free download of Final Fantasy. However going by Dengeki's screenshots it appears to be an all new version similar to the 3DS port, most likely in HD.
  19. This is getting real close to a 2015 release to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-ts=1422579428&x-yt-cl=85114404&v=v38fSUJwoEM&feature=player_embedded Source: http://squareportal.net/2015/02/01/new-final-fantasy-xv-footage-from-taipei-game-show-2015/
